Who is Red John?

Theories of aPartridgeInRJTree (9)

!!!Spoiler Evidence!!!

Did you ever figure out what was the big clue at the end of Season 6, Episode 1 Desert Rose?  My original guess was the close up of the knife and that it was a surgical hook knife and something that Brett Partridge might have had in his tool kit.  Well, right about knife being the clue wrong about what type of knife!

Truth is the bloodied knife that Red John is toying with after painting Lisbon's face is a hunting / buck knife with gut hook.  See for yourself, Red John, whom we know likes to hunt deer, probably bought it from the link below to Sears! LOL

Good hunting!

Not accusing Kimball Cho, just channeling through him!

Doesn't take a psychic to know whether we are happy or not with the current status of The Mentalist; however, anyone who has posted to or visited this site has had a great deal of enjoyment thanks to the efforts of one person, owner / operator / admin of www.WhoIsRedJohn.com and that person is Tonneau Jérémy.

I suggested in my previous post #14345 that Jérémy put up a PayPal Donation option so that we fans can give a little bit back to help cover the costs and time of creating this website.  Am Happy to say Jeremy responded to my request and thanked me for the suggestion and agreed to do so.

If you will look on the red "Follow Us" block you will now see the yellow Donate button.  Clicking on the button will take you to PayPal but if you "Don't have a PayPal account? Use your credit card or bank account (where available)."  I just sent my donation and it only took a couple of minutes to do so.

It does not have to be a large donation, be it a $1, $5, $10 or more, but if all of us make a donation at least there will be a decent show of gratitude for a great site to a generous Jeremy.

If you have not seen my previous post have pasted it below.  So far 32 of you agreed to a show of thanks to Jeremy and hope even more of you will.

Thanks,

aPartridgeinRJtree

To all of you Partridge Fans,

The truth about the "leaked" episode is that Partridge aka Red John had his red headed sister, Grace Van Pelt, use her massive computer skills to upload a bogus episode, and hide it in the source code for the CBS press release video site, just to mess with the minds of the non-believers.  Obviously his plan has worked!  Haven't read a post yet from someone who has seen the leaked episode who hasn't been somewhat disappointed.  Additionally, Red John had help from Bruno Heller in creating the leaked episode.  The Mentalist fans aren't the only ones tired of their show being preempted by sports.  Heller et al have given us five plus great years of The Mentalist and how aggravating it must be for all those involved from writing, directing, producing and acting in one of the best television shows ever aired to be treated like "The Red Headed Step-child" by CBS.  Ever since the night CBS decided not to air the scheduled episode to the entire viewing areas and instead caused havoc for the fans,  suspect that felt like the final straw, too, to those involed from A to Z in creating The Mentalist.  If Sunday's "Red John" episode does turn out to be the same as the "leaked" episode then you will know that even Red John knew he was being underappreciated by CBS and did not make his proper appearance and proper goodbyes.  However, once The Mentalist is picked up by a new network that will revere it and give it the prime time viewing slot it deserves, then he will reappear and we will see Brett Partridge reemerge as Red John and before Patrick Jane has his way with him, we will all get the attention and answers to the great theories and questions that the loyal fans of The Mentalist have posted on this great site!

One last note on the behalf of all fans of all the suspects, "Thank You" to site owner / operator / admin Jeremy for creating a fun site that obviously took a great deal of your time and energy to create and you did so with minimum advertising!  As a web designer myself, I greatly appreciate the lost revenues you could have made with advertising overkill and basically you made this a not for profit site.  If you would like to put a PayPal donation link on your feedback page, would like to make a small donation to you and am in hopes many of the fans of this site would, too!  Kudos and again many thanks to Jeremy!

PS Any of you who are contrary enough to disagree that Webmaster Jeremy doesn't deserve A Green Plausible sign of Thanks, go ahead and press Red and take a flying jump into a "Red" lake where Red John is waiting for you! :)

Why did The Blake Association suddenly turn on one of their own:  Agent Reede Smith?  It is because of them that he turned to CBI to help him.
We know Bertram is creating diversions to keep CBI busy and off of him so you would think he would want Smith out there running around and keeping CBI busy.
My guess is that Reede Smith has info about Red John he doesn't realize he has and/or Kirkland's twin found out Smith killed his brother without permission so he is being punished.
These questions coincide with my previous post:"Did anyone else notice these strange interactions between Grace Van Pelt and Reede Smith?
First - As we have seen in the past, Grace is an Ace shooter so surprised she didn't at least nick Smith.
Second - Not only did she let him escape but she didn't even run after him or get in car and chase him down.  That's not like her.
Third, Reede Smith called in to Van Pelt's direct line from a burner phone AND she automatically recognized his voice when he asked for help.  Since the advent of Caller ID and Cell phones, don't think she would have known it was him via Caller ID since burner phones have no name associated with them unless she recognized his phone number since she could have called or received a call from him before from that number of his burner phone.  Even more interesting, thanks to cell phone contact lists, hardly any of us know phone numbers off the top of our head unless it is a phone number we have known for a very long time or one we have to dial frequently and Smith went from dialing to speaking directly with her.
We know from Van Pelt wearing a strapless wedding dress there are no Red Dot Tattoos on her arm/shoulder but there is, as many have said, something just not right."

Question - Not theory...

Did anyone else notice these strange interactions between Grace Van Pelt and Reede Smith?

We know from Van Pelt wearing a strapless wedding dress there are no Red Dot Tattoos on her arm/shoulder but there is, as many have said, something just not right.

One last thing, not quite right, about Grace van Pelt's recent actions has to do with her marriage to Wayne Rigsby.  First of all, dating and marriage restrictions were too conveniently lifted.  Then, when she was describing her lost love to the bride Patrick had upset, when I first heard it, thought she was speaking about Rigsby.  However, after a woman has been jilted at the altar,  or almost altar b/c you shoot and kill your fiance, a normal woman would have disposed of that wedding dress AND would not have saved it AND would not have used it to marry a different man.  Brides are superstitious enough so  most would not have kept it or wear a reminder of a previously doomed wedding.  Then, after the wedding and they are driving off in the sunset in carriage, their profiles have them just looking ahead instead of each other.  Doubt you would see that profile in a truly happily and newly married bride.  Normally a bride would be snuggling up to her new husband, especially on a romantic carriage ride.  So, after seeing a less than emotionally charged bride, the next time I rewatched that episode, it sounds like she could have been describing her relationship with Craig O'Laughlin and that she chose her job as possibly a Red John cult member to kill Craig over being happy with him and when she realized Rigsby or someone else from CBI was listenting to her she threw in a few words to make it sound like she was describing Rigsby instead of O'Laughlin.  So, if she was still in love with O'Laughlin and wanted to pay homage to him, then I can see why she not only kept her wedding dress and used it to marry Rigsby.

Green vote means you agree Grace Van Pelt's actions are quite suspicious.   Would like to see in your comments, especially from past brides, if you would have worn the jinxed wedding dress to marry the man you truly loved!  I just don't think so!

Theory 2 -Follow up to post # 11660

If Red John was at mall in Strawberries and Cream but is not Reede Smith as possible in 11660 then Bertram would be the suspect hiding in plain sight in his red and blue striped tie.  Have always thought that Bertram fit the profile and size of Red John wearing black jeans and boots when he saved Jane's life and it was very convenient that CBI Bertram appeared for the very first time in the very next episode.   Realize that Rosalind described a person not quite like Bertram but if she is truly in love with Red John then why would she assist Jane with an accurate description?

So, if you think Bertram could be Red John - click on green!

Am posting this idea two different ways to allow for different possible votes on suspects.

Theory for voting option 1

Have read many times on this site that Heller has been quoted as saying 1) The viewers are going to be disappointed when they learn who the real Red John is 2) Red John is like Waldo hiding in the background and 3) The real Red John appeared in the Mall Scene in Strawberries and Cream Part 2.  With all that in mind, as a viewer from the day The Mentalist aired, I would be most disappointed if Reede Smith turned out to be Red John.  When he was listed as one of the 7 had to refresh my memory as to whom this guy was since he was more in the background than the other suspects.  I have rewatched the Strawberries and Cream mall scene several times and unfortunately the only person I have seen who resembles one of the 7 is someone who looks like he could be Reede Smith :(
If you have the video, rewatch the conversation between Jane and Bertram when Jane says he believes Red John "has friends all over the state. Powerful friends; I'm serious."  As Bertram shifts around in his chair, a man, very similar in size, shape and looks to Reede Smith, dressed in a reddish shirt, khaki jacket and jeans walks in the background behind Bertram and then behind Jane.  He appears to be carrying a cup of coffee.  Have looked and looked for someone else that resembles the list of 7 but that is all I have been able to find.

If you think man in background at the mall is Reede Smith thus making him Red John, please click on green for plausible.

Have found a picture of this scene on the web and am posting it under comments.
