Such a disappointing episode....

First you give us a list of 7 suspects, and then you obliterate 3 of them within the first two minutes of the episode? You don't definitively prove that any of the three that we don't see in the episode are dead. You don't show Partridge's face in the episode when his shoulder is being checked? YOU BETTER BE READY TO GIVE ME EVERYTHING I ASK FOR IN THE NEXT EPISODE because I was totally let down by this episode.

This episode practically gave me NOTHING. There was hardly any suspense, hardly any tension. I was never at the edge of my seat. EVER. WHY NOT? I expect to be "eyes-glued-in, fidgety, and nail-biting" for all 40 minutes of the episode, but I was bored. At one point I actually caught myself spacing out, staring out of my window at a freaking bird. WHY HELLER? I've always been enthralled at the RJ episodes and I love the RJ saga with all my heart, but this episode hit rock bottom. 

Out of the 40 minutes of actual scripting, I was only on the edge of my seat for maybe 2 seconds, and that occurred when Bertram visited Jane in the hospital. Besides that, there was nothing...

I'm sorry that I'm posting such a disappointing review, but that's honestly what I felt. And I've never felt this way before when RJ storyline has been the central theme to an episode.

Jeez Heller, you better have something major planned for this 8th episode of the season, or there will be a ton of disappointed fans (maybe not; maybe I'm in the minority when I say that this episode plain out sucked). 

Let me know what you think about episode 7.

From this episode we learned:

Gale Bertram is NOT Red John.
Brett Partridge is NOT Red John
Reede Smith is NOT Red John

And we also knew:

Bob Kirkland is NOT Red John.

That leaves us the Sheriff, Ray haffner and Bret Stiles.

Is not the Sheriff. 

Is between Ray and Bret. But I think that none of them is Red John and we are going to be surprised!

I feel that if some serious magic isn't pulled of in the next episode, and i mean serious magic, then the mentalist is the worst tv series i've seen till now. No explanations of so many things, no surprise element, suspects dying left and right randomly in an explosion, clues contradicting each other, holes in the plot everywhere. At least some sort of consolation will be when RJ is revealed to not be Bertram, but still.

I believe Red John pulled a "Patridge" and faked his death during the explosion.
Something feels off about todays reveal, unlike most people here i will wait for the explanation for why and how Betram is Red John but Patricks attitude to it it all made me think that he didn't quite think it all fit together in his mind either.

Unlike Patridges death, where we saw his dead body the other 3 suspects are believed to be killed in the explosion as dna evidence is found but the key part here is that cho said the bodies couldnt be identified cause they were burned to a crisp.

Another note is the storage locker which Bertram took the items from belong to Thomas McAllister as the attendant there referred to him as such after seeing his storage access card.
We also saw that a thumb drive was in the storage and that it 'probably' contains a list of all corrupt law enforcement officers and officials.

The question in my mind is why would McAllister be the one with the list of corrupt Agents if only Red John would have access to it as he is the leader of the group.
I think that Bertram was told by McAllister to collect the items from the storage to help aid his escape (incriminating Bertram in the process) and that he also left the swat outfit for bertram in his house so that all the attention would be on Bertram escaping and being the only available Red John suspect.

I'm beginning to believe its not bertram. But hey one thing to mention the LIST the encrypted list? What is it why is it there? Is it the list of janes and that's just evidence he is red john or is it the REAL LIST. Bertram seems high up in the ranks of TT why is he. Why didn't they ask Reede About Bertram and his ranking? Why he wasn't killed. Imagine if they pulled a stunt and it was Reede all along? Somehow he escaped. 

Maybe it is bertram. Maybe he was going to get out but then changed his mind. I can't believe I am saying this but I actually want partridge as Red John. I think he is dead but at this point I will take the twist. And why are we told there is no twist but then we get spoiled that there is.
My heads spinning I need to rewatch to see what happened.

no way on earth it is Bertram.
