I think Red Jonh is not a single person but an huge organisation looking for power and money.

Well, as the main reasons for every suspect have been already said and explained, I just want to point some things that I consider vital for the investigation:
Red John is a guy with straight hair, middle-aged, good fit, who causes good impressions on women. Although lots of things point at McAllister, I don't really think he fits in that description. And the fact that he appears in the promo doesn't give any clue to me. The scene at the church, where he is supposed to be murdered, seems to be a quiet and calm meeting. In contrast, we see the sheriff running away from somebody, and I don't think that's the way PJ and RJ are going to meet.
My Red John suspects are Ray Haffner and Brett Partridge. And I must say I got really convinced by some of your theories assuming that the latter is the serial killer, but I don't understand something. When Red John gets Teresa at the first episode of this sixth season, it's obvious that Brett is tied on the floor. If he is the same person that gets Lisbon unconscious, she may be the dumbest person on earth.
With Ray, by the way, I can't find anything that makes him impossible for being Red John. The only thing that doesn't make sense is that he doesn't have the tattoo, but I think that's easily explainable.

I expected a little less action and a little more conversation. Hoped for a subtile mindgame to catch Red John, not a bloody war.
Blowing things up brutally, that's no real Mentalist-style. And then, to see a piece of Bret Stiles' body, the master himself, laying around like garbage, it hurts in all its rudeness. Maybe I'm judging too fast and they recover things in next episode...

If Bertram is Red John, and it looks like that, then maybe this was a clue after all, when at the mall he told Jane to seek help, a psychiatrist, and that he knew excellent doctors (e.g. Sophie Miller).

Lets all remember please that there is no way in hell that Bruno Heller would put the actual Red John in the promo.... like really guys?... come on

After killing Red John, Patric will simulate his own death, and he will become a lumberjack. That always happens...

Ron is Red John. Here is the most convincing evidence yet.

So, this is really offbeat, and totally not plausable, but, everyone I talk to thought it was cute. Here is my theory.

Red John is actually tea. Yes you read right, tea. Here's why I came to this conclusion.

1... It has been said that Red john has been there from the beginning. Maybe not always in plain sight, but as a Where's Waldoesque element. Tea is always there, wether PJ is drinking it, or it is in a CBI ofifices or in a victim or suspects home etc....But tea has been there from the start.
AND
2.. PJ has shaken hands with Red John..We have seen PJ shake hands with tea on more than one occasion. He can't help it..tea aka Red John are his biggest weakness. PJ realises in The great Red Dragon that tea MUST be Red john when it is knocked out of his hand and the cup shatters.

Hope this makes you all chuckle, can't wait till next week when we finally get our answer!
