When did Tiger, Tiger start? It had to start somewhere. I bet it was at the red barn and McAllister was the cop who helped Red John (the killer of the unidentified third person in the barn) get away with it.

I'm so gullible! I watched the review thingy and in the comments someone said they watched the episode. I know people lie andthey most likely did not watch it but I still find myself believing it in some way. Anyway if I were you just in case it was the right information avoid it it would ruin the nice moment if it was and you wouldn't enjoy the episode as much.
So when heller said red john is just like kaiser sose feom usual suspects was the most telling aspect ive heard yet. If you dont know that movie Kevin spacey is a character the whole flick then at the end he changes his voice , his walk, and whole demeanor . So this means rj has been in our face the whole time and next week were gonna see this characters real voice and identity. So all you logisticians and gumshoes out there that keep falling for the obvious or the promos are gonna be stunned ! So who u think it is? Not anyone on the list. Not mashburn because he showed his cards already we know hes a creep and bad . Were looking for a character who seems good but it putting up a front just like kaiser sose. Rigsby? He seems weird lately . Pj would make the most sense as Sose -like but its not him.
Red Hot Pursuit Theory
RJ will escape the country thinking he has won.....when he arrives at his destination... Strolling through the park. Jane will be on a bench waiting for him.... Checkmate... He kills him... 2 years later is back stateside ready to finish the season.
I think everybody is falling into Hellers trap.
He has done everything posible so people is focused basically in two of the characters, completely discard other two and thinks two of them are completley out of the game.
THATS THE MISTAKE.
I think he has lead us away from Stiles and haffner deliberately.
NO ONE is paying attention to them in the last hours after episode 7.
Well if i was him and wanted to pull a shocker what better tan lead everybody in one or various mislead directions with fake clues just to pull the rabbitt out of my hat at last minute.
All the Partridge corpse with no face and no tattoo and no one ever saw him " fakin his death" hints.
All the hey the sheriff is in the promo for episode 8, it cant be so obvious they wont give it away, they give it away to make us think he wouldnt be so obvious and etc etc.
All the hey how bout the evil twin of Kirkland, oh look maybe Reed failed his shots.
All the focusing on how imposible is that Smith and Bertram are indeed red John.
It has make us all forget bout the Blind womans description wich does NOT sit well with old men, has us all make us forget the Red Barn wich by all means points at haffner mightly, has us make us forget Stiles and his hordes and how he has waved good bye to
them because he was going to " trascend".
Yep ladies and gentleman im not gonna be fooled nor surprised if Haffner ends being it and the sect/Stiles being involved somehow maybe even Stiles turns to be a " hidden hero" of the story or whatever.
What i know is if he is bertram/the Sheriff or partridge im going to puke and if its kirklands evil twin or Jane himself im going to stop watching .
Btw, something being completley overlooked :
Who is the mole?
Grace, Wayne or Kinball?
is the mole directly in contact with Red John or is a tiger tiger member? ( unlikely in that case for Grace and Wayne , i mean they get laid so they would know bout the tatoo.....and i dont want to see Cho turn out like that).
There are many good, interesting comments and theories here, and it's always stimulating to read others' observations.
I really do not know who RJ is, but based on the last episode (The Great Red Dragon), but I believe the following:
1) I still do not believe RJ is one of the seven on the list, for the simple but compelling reason (at least to me) that PJ would NOT have revealed his actual suspects to Lisbon and (by extension) the CBI team, since he had to know that telling one was effectively telling the whole team. For one thing, he would not want them in danger, nor could he contain potential unintended leaks by any of them. However, we know all seven are "bad" in some way or another, so investigating them could prove fruitful even if none was RJ.
2) There have been so many twists and head fakes on the show that we are prone to doubt everything and be unsure of what's true or false. Every recent death, for example, has been legitimately questioned, and we Kirkland has a twin, just for good measure!!
3) Bertram is NOT RJ, but his first lieutenant/first officer/prime deputy. Though Jane only told the five suspects where and when to meet him, we have no idea if any of them told someone else. And Bertram was always quick to make a call when he got key info re RJ.
4) Who fired the shot in Jane's house, and who set off the bomb? My opinion is that someone told RJ of the meeting, and he had a bomb placed into the house beforehand. Why was Bertram unharmed? (Everyone else is either dead--we assume, tsk tsk--or injured). Bertram escapes unharmed.....why, unless he knew where the bomb was and had been in touch with the 'bomber" (RJ). Why would RJ plant a bomb? To get rid of several problems at once, including PJ!!!
5) I like Mashburn but he has so many characteristics we assume of RJ: resourceful, very sharp, loves games, is bored, has high-level govt/law enforcement connections, and charismatic. (Remember he is the only man we ever see Lisbon with in the series, which could help explain why she has been spared when she could have been killed.
Anyway, as they say, keep those cards and letters coming!! It will exciting to see the RJ finale, and we can only wonder how the CBI and Blake Association story lines evolve post-RJ!!
Ok, here's the deal. On this site, today alone, Sheriff McCalister has surged ahead to the 4th spot in theory popularity. Makes sense. He fits the bill in many ways.
But I can honestly say that most of the theories on here , my previous one included, are way too detailed and the theorists have obviously read too much into every clue, non- clue, and random piece of dialogue. Many of you should be mystery writers yourselves. I've found the theories to be as entertaining and plausible as the show itself, sometimes more so.
But I can say that I looked away from the show to find the biggest clue yet on the identity of Red John. Rather than focus on characters, I focused on actors. Since Sheriff McCalister had been the favorite candidate lately, I decided to look up Xander Berkeley and found his Wikipedia page. Sure enough, as one of many roles in his long, impressive career, he had an entry that looked just like this:
The Mentalist (2008-2013, 3 episodes) Sheriff MCalister / Red John.
I then proceeded to look at the Wikipedia page of the other actors, all suspects on the list of 7. None of the others had "Red John" mentioned next to their primary character name for their Mentalist mention. I also noted that about this time, the Whoisredjohn.com web site was down, for a while. I got home from work a few hours after my initial discovery and noted that Xander Berkeley's Wikipedia page still credited him as " Sheriff McCalister / Red John." But then I checked it 2 hours later and the Red John reference was GONE!
I wouldn't be surprised if the reason this web site was down today is that it was hacked/attacked by CBS to put the brakes somewhat on the Sheriff as Red John speculation while at the same time they had people twisting arms to "fix" the Xander Berkeley Wikipedia page, since it have it away.
