LATEST THEORIES

It has become disappointingly obvious by now that Red John is the "dead" McAllister.
McAllister, whom I'd rather name with an extended monologue:
"BRUNO HELLER: I can't really use Partridge anymore. They figured him out too quickly in season 2. Besides, I need someone who looks more powerful. I ran around for three more seasons and pretended that I knew where to go with it, but I finally need to choose a new Red John now. Hmm. Well, I guess I'll just pick any random season 1 male character. Eeny-meeny... Oh, yeah, this guy looks good. Who's that? A hick sheriff, just like on 'Profiler'! Ha! They'll never guess THAT!"
So why that non-choice of McAllister? Several reasons, but one of them is because Bruno Heller has been, to put it gently, following the older series "Profiler" for a few years, and Profiler's Jack was eventually "revealed" as a redneck sheriff as well. (Incidentally, Jack was supposed to be someone completely different when the show started... just as was the case with "The Mentalist". The difference was that Profiler's creator left and took his idea with him, while Bruno Heller stayed with The Mentalist - he just didn't decide whom to pick sooner).
Shame. Bertram would have been perfect, and such a satisfying choice for Red John.
Instead, we get an idiot drawling hick who LITERALLY couldn't win a game of rock-paper-scissors. Now watch this space to hear a convoluted "explanation" next week, about how it was only Red John's ingenious act, how he only pretended to lose to Jane, how he can imitate voices so well that the hick accent was all too easy for him to do for years, every day... (which will probably also be the dumb and convoluted "explanation" for Red John's different phone voice). Yecch.
(ONCE I'd like to see a show in which the twist is that there is NO twist. Bertram looks guilty now, so most viewers expect a final twist in the next episode... and there WILL be a stupid twist, with McAllister being named Red John next week. But what a nice idea it would be for a change to reveal that... there IS no twist, that Bertram IS Red John.
Every D-grade movie and series wants to have a pointless twist now. Having NO final twist would at least be original! Especially when the twist is as lame as a random redneck sheriff.)

Hello everyone,

Let me start by this: I was sooo dumb, blind and foolish and not aware of who RJ is until I saw the Preview of S06 E08. The Mentalist is for soooo long was my top favourite show and within the last months i started hating it for those eternally long turns and twists and the total confusion. I am happy to finally found out who RJ really is, and it is grandiose I can promise you.

As an "introduction" to the next weeks episode "Red John" you can all go back to the Pilot and watch the Pilot again. Please consider Dr. Linus Wagner as the real Red John and follow the about 25 MINUTES of Patrick Jane - Dr. Linus Wagner dialogues. It struck me sooo hard, never ever did PJ talk to somebody so intense, honest, long and overwhelming. They have such a great chemistry. Enjoy this so you can take this last final waiting for RJ a little better!

I think RH is Dr. Linus Wagner. I just watched the PILOT (1st Episode) of the Mentalist again and Dr. Wagner hast the strangest voice and 100% fits the voice AND APPEARANCE from RJ in the preview of S06 E08 'Red John' which you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z77P7ebT0QI

Before you down-vote this please take notice of the following clues/facts:

In the very first Episode Dr. Wagner played the MAIN role as the bad guy. He ON PURPOSE acted out a grizzly double murder just "textbook Red John" as Cho said it, and even Brett Partridge said "classic Red John here". Patrick Jane was the ONLY person who had any doubt that it was the real RJ. Because the smiley was on the "wrong wall" and Theresa said: "maybe RJ is trying something new or making a mistake". THAT was the only reason why Dr. Linus Wagner was NOT OFFICIALLY RED JOHN. Because of this small "mistake".

I think he did this on purpose, so that he gets in prison and AS RED JOHN (with his many followers) gets in and out there easily. Dr. Linus Wagner was not only locked in prison but LOCKED OUT OUF OUR MINDS (and Patrick's mind as well). That is sooo smart and ingenious.

Dr. Linus Wagner and Dr. Randolf shared a private medical center. Wagner was the "Psychotherapist" and Randolf did everything else.

In the Pilot Patrick Jane chases Dr. Wagner after "RJ" put a letter under his door. He truly thinks it is RJ he is chasing.

I will not write down everything that I noticed, but please do watch the Pilot again and understand/ feel the chemistry between Patrick and Dr. Wagner.

I'm going to throw this out there - after watching Sunday night's episode, I'm beginning to think Red John is more than 1 person.  I definitely believe   Bertram is one of the guilty party.
My theory is because of multiple layers of the organization that are involved.
I think there are more surprises coming our way.

Could it be Danny Ruskin, Janes brother in Law.  Ruskin fits the physical description and age.  Ruskin also has the same meaning as Roy - red johns alias.

Any merit to this? Comments?

Red John appears to me now to be Tommy Lisbon, the brother of Teresa Lisbon!

- He fits the physical description perfectly.

- He has an affection for Teresa (his sister).

- As a bounty hunter he has ties to law officials and authorities, especially by name dropping CBI family members.

-  His name is Tommy, which is a nickname for Thomas - we all assumed that Bertram was going into Sherrif Thomas MacAllisters storage unit in the last episode, but I believe the Thomas was truly Tommy Lisbon.

- He fits the "Wheres Waldo" description, because he appears or is
mentioned throughout the series and is in the background as a part of
Teresas past through the seasons.

-  His daughter is named Annie after a famous red headed fictional character.

-  In 1988 he was a kid at the farm, but I suspect that first killing was actually done by Teresas father and Tommy adopted the Red John persona thereafter.

- As a bounty hunter he has a good shot, like Red John.

- It would be an unexpected reveal and fit the Keyser Soze descrption as Tommy is percieved as needing his sisters protection and somewhat weak on his own.

-  He must have shaken hands with Jane when they met.

The Mentalist has been amazing this year so I just wanted to put my thoughts down to see if I am right.
As much as I wish it isn't Partridge, I cannot see how it is not him.... This is my theory on how it plays out

RJ (Partridge) realizes that PJ is close so he needs to ensure that he distances himself from the investigation. He deduces the list of suspects and includes himself on the list (how this list has been created has never been explained so I just accept that RJ figured this out).  In order to draw suspicion away from him he arranges a plan with the higher ups at Tyger Tyger to fake his death. This includes luring Lisbon to the house where she is tazed and he wipes his blood on her face. Tyger Tyger arranges for him to be removed (totally possible) and he pronounced dead. Another body (most likely a Tyger Tyger member) is placed in there and the tattoo is removed as part of the process for when Tyger Tyger members die. If bodies kept showing up with three dots it might draw suspicion. This is why PJ says to Lisbon "What do you think" when he sees the picture that Cho takes. Not seeing Partridge's face is either a red herring by Heller or an oversight by Cho. I am going with the latter and this is why... All the details I just listed are assumptions because the next part is where I think it has to be Partridge.

5 remaining members are called to Jane's house where a bomb blows off and three bodies are recovered... I think this is where it eliminates  these 5 suspects for the following reasons:
1) Who places a bomb in the house and assumes that they are going to survive an explosion
2) How is a body placed in the house to fake (for most) McAllister's death when Jane survey the house beforehand.. I am pretty sure that he would have seen a third body.
3) Lisbon shows up when it goes off leaving no time to place a third body.
4) If any of them are RJ and Stiles knows RJ he would have shown it instead of acting surprised

I believe that RJ is a part of Tyger Tyger and his right hand man is Bertram. Bertram has been in the loop with who Red John is and informed him about the meeting. RJ figured it was a perfect time to eliminate all the suspects in one place (including Bertram). If all of them and Jane are dead then he gets away cause he is dead (Partridge). He blows it up but there are survivors.
Bertram tries to kill Jane to cover his ass but he fails. Jane is fully aware that RJ can't be any of the 5 and the picture of Partridge arm and the fact that he mentioned Tyger Tyger to Lisbon to kick off his plan finally comes clear to Jane. So Jane does the one thing that will anger Red John the most. He gives someone credit for all Red John's murders to Bertram. This is a means to draw him out.

Now the last speculation that I have is that Bertram goes to his secret stash to get his stuff. He is told by Red John to leave the cigerette lighter there knowing that Jane will find it. The letter is coded and Jane is the only one that can decypher it. The message is something to the fact that I know you know who I am and if you want to settle this meet me at the church..blah blah blah. Jane leaves and tells Lisbon that he is done knowing all too well that he is going to meet Red John. With Bertram the suspect in a manhunt and most likely loyal to RJ (though RJ can probably arrange him to be killed anyways) the only loose end is Jane.

If this isn't Partridge then I hope its someone not on the list.. The real kicker is the third body in the house.. I don't know how McAllister could arrange this, though I think Xander Berkley would be amazing as Red John.

Any who we will find out on Sun.

Agree or disagree:

95% of all Partridge as Red John voters would still be convinced he is not dead and is certainly Red John even if they had shown his face in the morgue in the last episode.
