I am the only one on the site who does not know who Red John is. However, I am going to point out some issues that need to be resolved, and any Red John Theory should address these. Some are from this season, some from past seasons.
How is Red John Connected to Visualize?
We know there is a connection. Bertram doesn't seem to fit that. If it is Bertram, his connection needs to be explained.
Why didn't RJ kill Lisbon?
Ok get ready for a crazy theory. Heller said there was a very specific reason that happened. What if Partridge is RJ with an accomplice? Knowing that if he left Lisbon alive everyone would focus on her, Partridge faked his own death and killed his accomplice. Talking point: When Patrick was speaking with RJ in this episode it showed RJ painting Lisbons face with the blood. This means one of two things: RJ was not talking on the phone or the scene on tv was not shot in real time. He also knew that eventually PJ would check the shoulder so for the Tyger mark so he cut it off. I know, too loose and not definitive enough.
Why was Patrick so sure that RJ killed the PI personally?
If he is indeed in charge of the Blake Association then he could have just sent someone else to do it. This would mean that one of the suspects without the tattoo would still be a suspect.
What happened right before the scene with the explosion, why was there a gunshot?
Who shot at who? This will definitely be explained. This leads to a follow up question, how did anyone have time to fake their own death with another body? Logistically, how did it work? I think that Bertram is too obvious and the Mentalist likes to have twists. This means that, assuming Reede is out, someone faked their death.
So the only person to me who can really tie this whole thing up is Partridge. However, I don't see a reasonable way to explain his death, so he is out.
We know they are going to keep us guessing until the end, so I don't think it is Bertram.
Reede Smith is out.
So it has to be between Stiles and Haffner. However, a while back Stiles said "I know more than you or Red John could ever imagine." This seems like something RJ would not say, he is too proud. So I am going with my gut all along, Haffner.
