Red John
is a game.

 



Background:  



1. Jane
has 2 sides : bright side & dark side.(Jane is always at the bright side in
the show)



2. Red
John is a group, more or less like a cult. (You can see the killing methods are different)



3. Jane
was in the group.And one of the pivotal members.(Brett Stiles is probably in the group too as he knows a lot
about Red John)

 

 



4. The
group employs people (e.g. lorelei martins, the fat dude with black glasses).
But there are only a few pivotal members who really know what is going on. They lie
to most of their members that RJ is a men. They didn’t tell them Jane was the culprit and the whole plan,too.


Theory:

 



1.     
The group admitted Jane because of his talents and they started killing
people. The killing game was fun at the beginning.

 



2.     
Later they found the game not challenging enough as the cops suck. They
don’t even have any progress in the case.

 



3.     
Jane decided to make the game more interesting. Jane has extraordinary
abilities as he is good at observing and mind tricks. He wanted to challenge
them. They then brainwashed Jane, wiped out his memory about the group
and all those killings. Jane then turned to bright side. They later started
killing again to catch Jane’s attention.

 



4.     
They knew that Jane has an arrogant and lazy character. So they killed
his family so as to give him a “motivation”. Jane then focused on his attention
on this case.

 



5.     
The group occasionally give hints to Jane and save him(e.g. s3e09). It
also explains why he didn’t get killed after insulting Red John(look at Panzar….).


Would be a fun plot if it is the case

  How many episodes have we heard something like that?

       Lisbon-"That was nine years ago. Why attack the CBI today?"
       Jane-"Yea, It's puzzling.Carter and Janet Peak. Nine years ago. *under breath to self* Carter, Janet Peak, nine- *loud again* Nine years ago, I'm a lot less experienced. Something went wrong with Carter and Janet Peak. A mistake. Now he fixed it but somehow now it's come undone. I'm Red John, why do i kill Morning and Hicks and attack Bosco's team? 
Bosco wanted the medical reports. What did he know..

               "You're not going to catch anyone with a background check. They plan too carefully for that."  -Patrick Jane

                Minelli- "I want to foster better inter-unit relations. Let's stop stumbling into each other, and try working together... You have concerns."
                Bosco- "I do. *points to Jane* This man... I - I don't even know what he is. He's an accident waiting to happen."

                And we all know what happened to Bosco..=)

              Lisbon- "There are real boundaries in life. These are real prison walls."
              Jane- "Only in your mind Lisbon. Only in your mind."

              Bosco-" It was a big mistake bringing in a whack job like him...
              Lisbon-"...Jane was bound to self destruct eventually. We all knew that."

              Victoria Abner-“Your aura is fascinating, Mr. Jane. So
many hues.”    
            Jane is a color...it's a hue of red.

              Jane-"A lie gets heavy fast..doesn't it."

              Jane- "You know you're a very good liar. Most people subconsciously signal dishonesty. But you, there's nothing. No inner conflict. Usually that's the mark of what shrinks like to call a sociopath."

              Bosco to Lisbon--“You know, for a cop, you made a very convincing lunatic. Jane must be proud.”
             Because Jane's the opposite..???

              Dr. Carmen & Lisbon-“Can memory loss be a result of trauma? Sure. Your mind shields you from the awful thing you did or even what someone else did.”

It's Ray Haffner. It makes complete sense. I mean, think about it. Red John killed somebody at a farm operated by visualise. That was probably his first murder, and he was probably 20. It's been 30 years since that roughly, and Patrick Jane has shaken hands with Haffner. Haffner is a member of visualize, and makes complete sense. He denied the topic when Lisbon brought it up. He pretends to be awkward, but we all know he really isn't. 
There is little doubt in my mind he is Red John.
