In this post I will explain several key events that have happened in
episode 7 The Great Red Dragon (if you have not seen the episode yet
stop reading and go watch it). These events will also hint at what I
believe will happen in episode 8 Red John.

In the last episode several important facts have occured. After the
bombing of Jane's house 3 of the 5 remaining RJ suspects end up dead.
When we learn that the tyger tyger tattoo has been removed from
Patridge's arm Lisbon asks "What does it mean?" Jane answers "What do
you think it means?" and walks away. The removal of the tyger tyger
tattoo obviously means that the Tyger Tyger group is present in the
morgue, and this also means that the dna results of the 3 RJ suspects
that died in Jane's house are very likely false. Jane obviously realizes
at this point that RJ is 1 of the 3 "deceased" suspects. He then begins
setting his trap, he announced publicly that RJ is Bertram, fully aware
of the fact that this is a lie. I mean Jane has always said that when
he finally gets RJ he will kill him, so why would he announce to the
public that Bertram is RJ and that he is "armed and dangerous"? Answers
because he wants Bertram to get killed, he wants Bertram to die, making
everyone believe that RJ is dead. As we know RJ is a showman, he wants
people (especially Jane) to appreciate his work, RJ has a phobia of
being unrecognized. So RJ needs to confront Jane in the next episode
because he HAS to, he knows that it is a stupid thing to do and should
walk away but he CAN'T. Hence why Jane sais in the end, "I'm not
quitting, I'm letting go". There is nothing more that he can do and he
knows it, RJ needs to make the next move. So he goes into the church and
waits for the inevitable arrival of his nemesis, RJ.

You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.

Why bruno heller want ruin this amazing show ?

I'm so disapointed.

Why does so many of you keep thinking Bertram is RJ and the scene at the churhc is "proof"? Aside from everything else, this is not the ending scene. We know that Jane will meet the real RJ outside, in a park, alone.

As far as I remember, Red John was the first one to mention Tiger, Tiger
to Jane. He must have known that Jane might bring this topic on the
table at the CBI.

Why would some (high) member of tiger, tiger want his own secret organization to become an open topic in the investigation?
He probably wouldn't. That's why I think that Red John might have used
Tiger, Tiger but he is not a member. It was even hinted by one of the
writers, I think, in an interview, that if there are too many people with tattoos, RJ might not have one.

Taking all 7 on the list into account, this leaves us with Partridge (we don't really know if he had a tattoo), Haffner, Stiles and Kirkland.

It was also said in interviews that the actor was surprised when he was told that he was Red John.

(The
actor of) Partridge said he played him as if he was Red John all the
time. So he would not have been surprised. The actor also confirmed that
his part was over. Partridge indeed is dead.

McDowell (Stiles) said in an interview that he though he was Red John.
So he wouldn't have been surprised either. So it is not Stiles - even
though I'm not sure if he is really dead as it might be that nobody died
in the explosion.

Why was Partridge killed by Red John? It was
probably necessary to have someone in the CBI confirming the death of RJ
and so Partridge needed to be replaced by someone under Red John's control.

So this leaves us with Haffner and Kirkland.

Someone
had a theory that Haffner actually IS Kirkland (Michael Kirkland).
Because he changed his appearance when he turned into Red John. A bit
far fetched but sounds kind of cool.

But we know that Haffner has
a crush on Lisbon, which would also explain why she wasn't killed in
episode 1 of this season. Haffner also fits to every description of Red
John, he has ties to Visiualize, the CBI/FBI and he is kind of a regular
guy (at least compared to suspects like Stiles or Bertram), which Bruno Heller said RJ would be and we would probably be disappointed about him.

We don't know much about Haffner's private live and past before CBI/FBI, so anything is possible.

Something to note before we begin:

The storyteller (Aka Bruno Heller) has
explained in no uncertain terms that the list is real. It would be
dishonest and stupid to lie about something like that. Had he not wanted
the list to be real he wouldn't have given a straight answer to media. Lying is bad
storytelling. This means one of the 7 suspects is for sure RJ. Anyone
outside of the 7 on the list, including but not limited to someone's twin(Sorry Kirkland
camp) is off the table.

For the rest who believe your suspect could
still
be Red John:

Someone as careful and calculating as RJ could have
planned/planted DNA or faked evidence if tyger tyger is really as deep
as they make it sound. Confirmation of the deaths from the blast is
brought to light and accepted as fact during the show before mistrust in other law enforcement is placed. Forensics and all 'facts'
that are not in front of us are up for debate. I do, however think that
Partidge is dead. It makes no sense that CBI agent Cho would somehow not
recognize a former colleague or look at his face to be absolutely
certain it's him. Especially when there is so much mistrust going
around. I give the writers more credit than that. That being said, the
"DNA evidence" is not anything concrete that we can trust. This leaves
Mcallister, Haffner and Stiles all available to possibly be alive. It is
a fair guess assume that Patrick Jane isn't convinced that RJ is
Bertram. Bertram is an evil man so PJ doesn't care about the pressures
or situation Bertram is in now with the finger pointed at him, but he
isn't RJ. Patrick wants RJ all to himself. That being said, I have no
idea who RJ is but my hat is off to the creator for making such an
interesting finale and finally bringing this wonderful mystery to a
satisfying close. Keeping us guessing right until the very end.

In Closing:

I
apologize in advance this is a bit of a double post on one I had
created earlier but my previous one wasn't as complete as this. I
look forward to your votes and challenge you to find flaw with and/or
come up with counter-arguments to what I've said. Please comment and
tell me what you think!
***POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW***

On a side note:

We
don't understand the context of the blurry pictures of Mcallister in
the promo for the finale. That being said, there's no way to
definitively say that he is or is not Red John. It may be fair to guess
Mcallister is still alive, thus providing further evidence that some of
what I said above may be true.
