Brett Partridge is one of my many suspects: I posted this again has the previous one had mistakes.

Reason 1: He appears only in Red John cases.

Reason 2: He is strange...

Reason 3: He appears to have a dislike for Jane, however Red John is intrigued by Jane - This could be a act he puts on, so he doesn't give himself away.

Reason 4: We now know that Red John's killings started in 1988 when he was out on a farm, that Visualize owned.

Reason 5: The actor himself was born in 1968, and in 1988 he would have been 20, which is what they said Red John's age would have been. If Brett has been portrayed with the same age I worked how old he would have been 1968 + 40 = 2008 so he would have been 40 when the show started, now I assume that show is set in the same timeline as us, so now it's 2013, that would make him 45, depending on his birth-date. Which fits the profile he would be around the same age as Jane.

Reason 6: He has the same name as Bret Stiles or though he spells it with a extra t. Now we know that Bret Stiles knows more about Red John then Jane does.
What if Red John is his son, as anyone thought of this? I mean I have lots of theories, but this is good.

ellis mars,
There was an episode in the earlier seasons in which one prisoner was helped by jane to escape when he said he had information about RJ. This guy was killed by red john along with an hooker. On the walls it was written in blood: "He is mar". He might have been trying to write he is mars. Also, ellis mars gives his contact card to jane on one episode. The card contained some symbol of a tiger burning bright.

Robert Kirkland makes a good suspect.
Features all fit. He has a potentially red john voice.
To quote another theory:
Theory #381 • By LGFUAD
"1.  Season 5 Episode 5 (Red Dawn)

At the end of the show, the director of FBI Alexa Shultz started chatting up to the first CBI director that we know of (Virgil).  She revealed to him that for the past year Patrick was in an asylum.  What purpose revealing this piece of information served for her or Red John, I dont really have much of a clue yet (perhaps to limit Patrick's points of access to information the CBI had on Red John by worrying the director? Or to motivate Virgil to keep tabs on Patrick as to how far he is with the investiation), but after hanging up she immediately she said "It's done" and faintly smiled at some man(Bob Kirkland) seated opposite to her.

He simply said 'thank you' in a soft, noticeably chilled voice. You could easily imagine his voice and Red John's voice being pretty similar.  Furthermore, I believe that conversation between Alexa Shultz and this Bob Kirkland, was pretty suggestive of him being some senior officer in relation to Alexa Shultz. I may be somehow wrong about this but what is this guy doing with a HomeLand security badge later as we see in episode 7?

2. Season 5 Episode 7 (If it Bleeds, It Leads)

PJ: " Do I know you?"
Bob: "No.. But I know you"

His encounter with Patrick seemed pretty intentional frankly speaking. And all that sortof eerie background music... A bit suggestive. Also, while speaking with Lisbon, he seemed a little uncomfortable with his posture and he was stuttering a little in the beginning... "

Not only this, but he did in fact shake Janes hand. Important info to say the least.
The only problem is that this seems too obvious, and a little boring.

Okay Firstly I'm going to rule a few people out..

1. Patrick Jane - It can't possibly be patrick because he was on the tv show the night his wife and child died.. also in the last ep of season 2, patrick is not talking to himself, red john is, and also if patrick was red john, wouldn't timothy carter recognise him, when they're speaking together?

2. CBI Ron - Although CBI Ron is a really good suspect, he can't possibly be red john, because in the episode where one of the office ladies in the CBI kills all the members of the team that were on the red john case at the time (not patrick's team) and she gets sent to jail.. and as she's being escorted by Cho and Rigsby along the prison corridor, a man passes in prison guard uniform and the lady smiles at him and recognises him because he's rj, and he squirts some posion on her hand and she dies.. but if that was CBI Ron, Cho and Rigsby would've said "hi" or something, or would've at least acknowledged him as he was walking past..

2. Wayne Rigsby - It can't be Rigsby, because the director has shown too much of his personal side, being a caring father and all, and the director is trying to make Red John look like a cold blooded killer, not someone who is kind and caring..

3. Cho - It's not Cho, same reason as for Rigsby, the director shows too much of his personal side, ie. his realationship with Summer, which shows he is caring and viewers just wouldn't be satisfied if they found out that a crazy serial killer was just a nice guy..

I reckon it's a relative of Brett Stiles. It can't possibly be stiles, because Stiles is just an Old man, he's not strong enough to pull off murders like that, but I do believe that it is a relative of Stiles' because he would fit RJ's age group, plus last episode, it was said that Stiles bought a whole dozen farms, and who better to get to work on a farm, then you're own son?

Anyway I'm probably wrong, but it's up to you to believe what you want :)
