Someone made a good point below about nothing being said about the leaked episode. Well firstly they don't want everyone to know. The worst thing would be drawing attention to it then everyone would be in uproar. Saying that though it leads me to something else....

I have to bring this up.
I don't get the media. Every time they get their hangs on an episode-They seem to not want to criticize it. Is there something going on under the table. Is it because they fear they wont get the episode in advance if they don't have ALL nice things to say. This means you can't really trust in anything they say because they always have good things to say about it. Is there ever any constructive criticize.
I mean speaking of one site giving out that people were giving their opinion on the episode, they were blaming the people. WHY ON EARTH HAS NOONE WROTE AN ARTICLE ABOUT THE LEAKED EPISODE AND THE RECEPTION IT IS GETTING??? There has to be some media out there who isn't bribed by an advance screening. AS someone said there has been no reference to it. And the blame lies with the CBS leak not the people who watch because it's human nature to want to spill the beans and tell people not to be too hopeful with the episode. The CBS I understand but the media is a whole different Kettle of fish. There has to be a reason for it. Are they afraid of backlash or something.
It's obvious from on the sites that the majority of people hated the episode and expected more but nothing is said about it at all.

It's not a fake though. I am certain its the genuine article.

P.S Strictly for Partridge fans. I wasn't a fan but now I wish he was the REAL Red John compared to what we had gotten. This video is hilarious I love it. You probably all seen it anyway but still.

As disappointed as I am in the way the ending played out, it does make some sense who RJ ended up being, and how pathetic he turns out to be.

At no point in this show has RJ been supremely intelligent. Just think about it. He got away with everything he did because of his friends. As fans we created this persona in our minds of some supremely intelligent bloke, but in reality he didn't have to be so, nor did he have to have Jane's insight and abilities. He could have had anyone hypnotize Kristina Frye.

However, with that in mind, the way that he was portrayed in this final episode was comically poor and a bit of an insult to fans. Why would he attempt to convince Jane not to kill him on the basis of Jane being a good man and that it would haunt him. Jane has killed before and RJ knows this. Hell, he's the one person Jane would absolutely kill. Why would someone as risk-centric as RJ be so afraid to die? There is inherent risk in what he does, so much so that death must be something that you're comfortable with. One's own mortality is something you'd be acutely accepting of. Why would he call 911? What a ridiculous thing to do. Why would he meet Jane with such little protection? He knows Jane's conviction and will. And why on earth would he possibly try to convince Jane that he has true psychic abilities, as he does right before he dies? WTF Heller?

Jane's planting of the gun was not ingenious. It was moronic. He clearly knew that Bertram was not RJ so how on earth could he be sure that RJ would reveal himself, and specifically in the church? How could he possibly sneak a pigeon in through a pat-down by someone in law enforcement?

There are so many more unanswered questions relating to past episodes that don't match up at all. On that note, the woman in the graveyard who screamed when RJ ran near her then calmly and very intentionally walked away from the police/FBI when they arrived. She even put her head down and the camera panned on her. Why? Only reason I can think of is that she was planted there by someone else in case something went wrong. Are we about to have a Timothy Carter 2.0? That would be lazy and insulting to fans as well. And if RJ is not RJ then why did he not use that info to save himself? He's clearly afraid to die.

I don't mind McAllister as RJ, but the way it played out was as if Heller wrote this episode specifically for CBS's children demographic. There was no battle of wits. No intellectual dialogue. Atrocious filler scenes that served no purpose to the RJ arc nor any possible subsequent arc. A horribly forced CBI 's FBI showdown. Some awful acting by guests and regulars alike. A Red John confrontation so bland that throwing salt at my TV seemed a reasonable action. Action akin to something Angela Lansbury is still capable of without a stunt double. And really lazy writing with some incredibly cheesy lines and scenes.

Overall one is left with so many questions and valid reasons to find this episode more of a parody of everything they're done, rather than a fitting end to 7 years of fan loyalty and appreciation. I'm almost left feeling like I no longer care what direction the show decides to take. I've lost faith in the creative team's ability to keep me entertained and I certainly have no interest in watching some new cast do the same thing day in, day out without a central protagonist.

Bruno Heller, you really weren't kidding when you said that we'd be disappointed. I thought you were kidding. Little did I know that you were understating the fact...

Oh dear Oh dear Oh dear

I'm absolutely livid! Six years for that? Surely that's not it
I remember watching Strawberries and Cream(The best Red John episode imo) I was on the edge of my seat, but this this episode did nothing for me. During the confrontation I expected more, like flashbacks of past events and killings, Kristina Frye, explanations about how he narrowed down the list, explanations about how he preys on the vulnerable and how he recruits his disciples, explanations about how he killed Jane's favourite childhood memory and how he became Red John etc, I have no problem the with Sheriff being Red John but the story was simply not told well, it was rushed and through the years Red John has been made to be a powerful serial killer, in this episode he was made to look like a pussy, he begged for his life as well as dialling 911....come on! Perhaps they were trying to show his desperation but this was not done right, Red John is not a pussy at all, I expect his reaction to be something like "Go on do it" not plead for his life. I even thought Patrick would kill him the same way he kills his victims.

The only thing I liked was the relief Patrick Jane had on his face but overall the episode was just not good enough.

Please re-shoot this episode or even give us the run around again and tell us that Sheriff McAllister was in fact Red John's second in command, I don't care but please don't finish this beautiful storyline like this.
Overall it's been a disappointing week with my CBS shows, Person of Interest's latest episode, an excellent episode but a very disappointing ending. *sigh*

Come on heller, don't dissapoint us.... all you have to do is make a different Red John episode and everybody will think you're a freaking genius, if your episode is leaked, don't dream about a next season big boy.

I keep seeing the two pictures as hopeful proof that the hacked episode is a fake. The first picture from the promo doesn't have Bertram dead on the floor and the second from the episode you can see Bertram's dead body.

Well of course they are going to digitally remove Bertram's dead body from the PROMO otherwise it gives away that Bertram gets killed and isn't RJ. (Which in itself is kind of stupid since they didn't have enough sense to blur out RJ's head as he crashes through the glass door and we all knew it was Mcallister at that time anyway.)

Sigh…I haven't watched the episode yet and will wait till Sunday but the overwhelmingly negative response to it is really bumming me out. I'm completely ok with the sheriff as RJ, and although I haven't seen it, I believe I'll be ok with RJ turning sissy and calling 911 and begging for his life. Deep down RJ obviously has issues that would come to the fore once he's exposed and vulnerable hence the reason he's a psychotic serial killer, desperately needs Patrick’s approval, etc. I'm sure I'll be ok with that because it’s consistent with a severely narcissistic personality that doesn’t want to lose the one thing they love above all else (their own life).

Where I'm going to have a problem is the show not answering any of the burning questions the Mentalist fanbase has been pondering for years (literally!!). It is just an utter slap in the face to not find out why Partridge had to die, why he really didn’t kill Lisbon, how he got the list, etc. Again, I’m completely ok with PJ telling RJ he doesn’t give two sh*ts about how he got the list. It’s very consistent with PJ’s character. He knows RJ desperately wants him to appreciate his intelligence and the things he’s done and not only does PJ not care about that, even if he did he wouldn’t give RJ the satisfaction…but that doesn’t mean the writers couldn’t cleverly give us the answer without compromising PJ’s character! Who the hell is writing this stuff?! It’s not rocket science.

Until this unfortunate leaked episode, our villain was Red John but what we saw on 6*08 is more like a Pink John since he runs like a chicken for his life. So we owe apologies to fellas who had theorized that RJ was actually PJ (pink john).

And the famous red smiley face is actually Bruno 's ass with which he's laughing at us.

And this fucking episode is the last fucking thing that I would like to find in my memory palace.

A note for Heller : I just hope that if I'm ever in your shoes, I have a friend close enough to fuck me in the ass.
