Do you folks think there's any value in the red sweater guy from the episode where Jane kills Timothy Carter (Strawberries and Cream)? It seems a little odd to introduce a "new" character to the show in the last 5 episodes but are we really going to get 5 more episodes of seeing Jane meeting women and playing with children in Mexico. I would definitely take a new character over McAllister being the guy also. Let me know your thoughts! If you're not familiar with the red sweater theory google it.

How Red John should have been revealed:

It should have been Brett Partidge, it would have made alot more sense:

-He is as smart as Patrick Jane
-Could cover his tracks easily as a forensic expert
-Partridge could accumulate evidence against other officers in order to blackmail them.
-He could have easily had his body switched
-He was perfect for the ring leader of a secret cult
-He covered all the RJ cases
-In the first episode he is almost coaxing Patrick Jane to acknowledge that this is not a real Red John case
-The voice is a perfect fit
       -Jane calls him 'a ghoul'
-He clearly has a sense of theatre for his work as shown in the pilot (A showman)
-With his forensic knowledge he had the smarts to be able to hack into government systems and create deadly poisons.       -The contrast between the two characters would have worked a lot better (In the real world Jane is ahead of Partridge and often puts him down, this would have worked well with Partridge actually being on the front foot as Red John)       -He wears an earpiece which would let him still do his killings and talk to jane simultaneously       -The height is a perfect fit       -The Blake reference with one of the dragons rising again would have worked if he 'faked' his death       -McCalister never showed the smarts, intelligence or dominance that a character like Red John has over his disciples       -We never heard Partridge whistle and McCallister wasn't an exceptional whistler       -Partirdge was in the perfect position to be R.J. as he could keep an eye on everything and was the one who took all the evidence!
I think Bruno Heller just closed his eyes and thought "oh no one suspects this guy, lets make it him".
Yet there is a ridiculous amount of unanswered questions and clues that are now pointless. We all watched for years and have been let down by the fact its a weak character with no ties to all the clues over the years.
I hope this is the writers trying to throw us off again, I would welcome that for sure!

"Xander is a wonderfully subtle actor who can go deep — deep enough to be our Red John," says series creator/exec producer Bruno Heller,
who says he selected McAllister to be his Big Bad "about a year ago,
after carefully weighing all other options. McAllister made the most
sense. He had the perfect cover job as the sheriff of Napa, where he was
the master of his domain. No one ever questioned his whereabouts. He
didn't have to answer to anyone. He needed that freedom and the quiet
loneliness of the countryside to do his thing as Red John."

So all the clues we got before are useless. Wasn't the audience supposed to be able to solve the RJ case before it would be revealed? Didn't Heller claim that the clues we already gathered would lead to only one person? So how exactly do WE can solve a mystery before it gets revealed when the writer doesn't even know who his f*cking antagonist is?! -.-

Im really dissapointed about McAllister been RJ, i think he sucks hahah.. I hope he isnt real RJ, because come on, the episode was good, but not good if we remember that suppose to be about RJ capture,, RJ asking for mercy, really?? so pathetic, RJ have to say KILL ME IF U CAN PATRICK (with his famous voice) ... All its so confused, i think we are going to see like flash backs, like come on its truuuee he is RJ, OMG know i understand,,,,, why he kill his family, why kill people, what about all his lovers, how he works and a many question without answer about ALL, Partridge, about farm, about janes family, about kirkland and his twin, about visualize,, So i hope this episode is just for thinking "Bruno we hate u"...!!! So i hope Bruno surprise us,, and think OMG Bruno its a genius and give us what we want about RJ....!! BTW I watch the preview and the only thing i cant think its the lady, RED HAIR? no way hahahah,,!! All remember us RJ..!!

I liked the ending and think it makes a lot of sense.

But I'm puzzled by something...  Possibly another Red Herring...

The lady sitting at the back of the church in The Great Red Dragon when Jane tapes the gun beneath the pew looks pretty familiar...  Looks just like the nun with a knife who was on Red John's side...  She also sounded like she was from Visualize...  (i.e., her tone and choice of words.)

Was she on Tom's side?  If it was her in the Church, did she see Jane put the gun there?  Why be there in the first place?  If she did see Jane put the gun there, is Red John using Tom?  Is she the "cutter-upper"?  I mean, the first episode Tom's in is about 2 sociopaths...

Also, why didn't she have a gun?  She wasn't that great a shot with a knife...  But Jane and that candle, oh boy...  I think Jane bashing her in the skull made-up for an almost religious moment with Jane kneeling in the last episode...  And of course, he was putting the gun there.

Anyways, I liked the ending.  Think the Sheriff fits very well.  I don't think the pigeon play was far-fetched either, it was actually pretty poetic.

Just my thoughts!  No offense intended!

Let me ask you all this. WHAT IS LOGICAL ABOUT A PSYCHIC being hired by cops to catch a serial killer that killed his own family?!?!? Whats logical about CBI not being shut down the first 100 times people were killed inside their walls ? Its theatre people ! Not a science class! Heller admitted he didnt know who red john was till this season!!!! Thats a very illogical approach ehh?!?!?!?

I used Haffner just to easily find my post later hahaha

I guess we all agree that the "RED JOHN" episode is not among the top 100. However I'm thinking about the three episodes (RED JOHN Trilogy) ... they have a lot of tricks and events <can make one excellent episode> but instead we got very slow paced three of them and have much more fillers with no real need for them that ask questions other than giving answers

- Bret and the blood scene!!
- Ray and silencing a woman!!
- Jane can find FBI agent location whenever he want to - may be he asked the reception about Reed's location hahaha
- Gale and the creepy voice (how did he know about it??) -Read it here to be honest
- The FBI can listen to Jane's calls but cannot track Jane's location whereas Grace can, so they followed a bug in Lisbon's car then "magically" arrested the guy holding Jane's phone
- The car is bugged and Jane have know idea ... so, FBI has to be dumb enough to show him that he is followed

any other ideas??
