Red for Red John still alive and kicking, There was no elaborate plan so this may not be stickin.

Green for he's gone and we'll all just say so long.

Sniffle Sniffle Tear Tear is it really over or do you live in fear?

I think that Heller gave the mentalist the greatest Scooby Doo ending. I really disappointed that Red John could not say "I
would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling
kids." Jane then could have looked at audience a said it the sheriff the
whole time. Like, zoinks, man.

So this is my first post ever, but after this last episode I felt like I had to share my opinion on all this. (Sorry for bad grammar)

1. Firstly, I share the same feelings about how episode 8 played out, as many other on this site. But somehow I can understand in principle why Bruno would take this "god" like killer and transform him into a pathetic little man, who cant grasp the reality that he lost and shows his true colors...

BUT BUT BUT... When this is said, I must say that I have imagined how this episode would play out, so man times over the years, and not to mention how all the episodes with RJ made my spine twist and body explode with Goosebumps... This episode however had nothing like this.. there were no "Chill" or adrenalin kick, when McAllister entered the church.. As a matter of fact, I was not even sure that he was RJ when he entered, I almost asked my self "So he is RJ or??..." Well he was RJ, so I would expect some fantastic dialogs between RJ and PJ... naa lets make them run instead and make this a physical fight instead a mental battle between them.

So to say it shortly, this did not at all feel, act or look like a RJ episode.. So perhaps it wasn't?

2. Many have argued about whether it was RJ or not, if McAllister is the right RJ or not etc..

In my mind, this episode did not satisfy my expectation at all, and furthermore I don't really see McAllister as RJ materiel. Put it simply, he seemed to stupid. I could not in my wildest fantasies imagine, that this man could manipulate so many people, and even make some sacrifice their life for him?... The fact that he breaks down so easily, when PJ puts a gun to his face made me wonder... So every time RJ made a mistake or he faced some difficult time in his life, did he just collapse and started to cry?

All these questions, thoughts and disappointments tumbled around in my head for some time, and after reading some different theories on this site, all my thoughts and feeling turned in to a little seed in my mind, which started to flourish in to a flower... A hope awakened within me as it has in many also...

I imagine that at some point, when the FBI catches PJ In a later episode, one of Lisbon's crewmembers will go missing (Cho, Rigsby or Van Pelt) and at some point, PJ will be standing in front of a door in a narrow corridor, which for some reason he hesitate to open... He gets the same feeling like he did that day, when he came home to find his wife and daughter... He opens the door and stares paralyzed in to that smiling red face :)... And under this face lies the missing member as a statement to PJ; " Did you really think that you were smarter than me Patrick? ;)"

This is just my little hope for what is to come.

Please tell me what you hope will happen next.

Yes, it is indeed true that the Red John episode is a fake.

The show producers just didn't knew it, before the fans told them.

- Bruno Heller

"Check out the extras in the last frame of the show and you’ll see how much attention to detail goes into the work, and how carefully Chris Long plans his shots…The extras represent the life Jane could have had if fate and Red John had not intervened…"

This was Bruno Heller's very last paragraph in his article. Is it a co-incidence before many people even read that, that they said the man in front of the slide looked like Brett Partridge?

There's so much evidence stacked against the episode being "real", but a lot of people won't actually look at it? They'll go on about how grown up they are for accepting disappointment... Is it a co-incidence that these ignorant people are so good at dealing with disappointment? *Cough*

Grace van Pelt: "Sometimes, I think you like being helpless."
