Biggest clue red john is alive and well:

The girl that with her dying moments showed patrick the tattoo her killer had. 3 dots insinuating tiger tiger .
Ok, how on earth did she see the tattoo? No way her killer was wearing a tank top! She must of seen it before ? Maybe on an intimate level or at the gym . Macalister could of been with her intimately since he was a "deranged sex freak ". But i dont buy that.
I dont know what this means but maybe she was a rj follower . Or with visualize. I have no idea why she would lead patrick astray but how the hell did she see the tattoo of her assailant ?

****1. Maybe red john sent a person purposively showing a fake tt tattoo. Thus leading jane to take out macalister and the rest.
Maybe macalister was red john in a way. He could of assumed the role if rj with partridge in copycat fashion to mess with jane and other cops . Maybe the real red john like partridge said "hasnt killed in years"
Maybe hes waiting . Sitting back as patrick becomes a psycho killer lol
I really hope there is more . This show always has a rj finale or start in the first half and ends with another rj story later on .

Look, I believe it wouldnt have been too difficult to give the fans a good Red John reveal episode. What I would have written goes something like this.

Lets say the same opening scenes of the crappy episode, then at the church after Jane meets with Bertram, enters Red John dressed with the same outfit on season 2 finale (remember he has a strong sense of theatre) the whole time using the creepy voice (dubbed under the mask).

He then kills bertram with his knife while Cordero points at patrick and makes him see how he kills, how he "operates", then its Janes turn, he makes him lie in the church altar and before he is going to cut him, he removes his mask, revealing that he is Mcallister or whoever the fuck (doesnt matter at this point), then the dialogue goes on and patrick pulls the pidgeon stunt shoots him and shoots Cordero entering again like the original episode shows.

But then get this, after Jane shoots Mcallister, he drags him out of the church and follows him as Mcallister breaks out of character and Jane slowly directs him to his wife and doughters graves while telling Mcallister all along that he will turn him in to the cops, thus lying. Then and only then, Jane strangles him in front of the graves of his wife and daughter.

So really something along those lines, why not? It was so boring, come on, these people get paid to write this. Why not do something memorable?

I care to read your opinions or alternatives. Please care to reply. Cheers.

While the latest chapter was indeed VERY dissapointing (from the super pidgeon plan, to the reveal of who RJ was, to the "please don't kill me" and the 911 call).
I don't think this was the end of it and I think Red John is still out there.

Why... simply for 2 reasons

- McAllister is really out of character to be RJ.
We are supposed to believe he is a criminal mastermind, a truly clever mind. His followers didn't do as he said because of fear, they did so because they worshiped him. They made terrible things for him and would refuse to give up his identity no matter what.
It would simply be HORRIBLE writing and storytelling if McAllister ends up being RJ.

- This one has nothing to do with theories or plot.
It's just that... there is still over half a season to go. The mentalist seasons are generally around 20-25 episodes long.... I just don't think that after 5 years of focusing on Red John they would just show us the secret in episode 8.... hell, it's not even the MID-season finale.

Anyway... I think there is still more to it. And I'm still a supporter of the theory that Jane is indeed Red John.

I like to think this is my grand opus:

https://vimeo.com/80520750

It chronicles the Red John arc in music video form, until the bitter end (with a bit of humor at that part, starting 13 min in).

This show is basically over for me. I can't imagine Heller or anyone making up for the huge blunder of "Red John".

So long, The Mentalist. We'll always have the mall.

People get over yourselves. Quit saying Heller wrote a terrible ending. No matter what way it would of ended you would of still said it sucked. What's he supposed to do in that amount of given time. It wasn't the way I imagined red John being revealed. I thought it was a pretty good ending to the saga so long Red John
