Partridge said a little while back that "red john hasnt killed anyone in years ". He said this to another no name forensic guy. It seems like macalister and partridge were assuming the roles of red john in order to explain certain murders. So in a way macalister was red john as heller said. But i believe the original red john who killed patricks family is still alive . I dont think the real red john would have 3 dots on his shoulder .
The investigator hired by visualize said her killer had 3 dots . How did she see the 3 dot?! Why did her killer leave her alive ? Rj could of just slit her throat ? Nobody would leave a witness alive to talk.
Maybe she was a rj follower who was meant to die and to lead jane to take down tiger tiger. Seems weird that rj gave info to sophie miller and if he was indeed the head of tiger tiger .
Red john is sitting back waiting for patrick to keep killing and this BECOME a serial killer . Fearful symmetry.
All in all there is no explanation for thst girl to have seen the 3 dots . Her killer wasn't shirtless !!!!

I read a recent interview from simon baker and Heller.  Heller explains the rationale behind the final Red John episode, its a fitting rationale that fits the framework of that episode.  I watched it again from the perspective of Patrick Jane and I must confess that If I was Jane, I wouldn't be interested in hearing anything about red johns back story or how he knew so much.  I wouldn't want to give him the satisfaction of admiration, all I would be focused on was destroying the man responsible for the death of my loved ones and ending many others lives.  From that perspective I find the episode much more enjoyable and fitting.  However, is this what I wanted to experience?  Most definitely not, I watch these kind of programmes for entertainment, to be transported into a world that is unrealistic and in no way resembles the day to day occurrences of real life and real people.  Heller mentions in his interview that he wanted to show how red john was much like an ordinary man, with fears and vulnerabilities, but does that make a great story?  A wise man once said "don't let the truth get in the way of a good story"  and this should be the core philosophy for all things related to storytelling in the area of entertainment, otherwise.....whats the difference in watching the news!

not a real advocate of fan fictions but:
betajohn delivers!!
http://www.whoisredjohn.com/See-a-theory-Red-John/15952

sure, there's room to shut-up-shop now (in all the disappointment)
but heck, there's also room for a patch up in the concluding episodes of the show just like this fan fiction!!!! it's logical too with jisbon linked to red john
the only thing i'd change is the title of the ep to "back in black" where he returns in red vader attire *omg*

i know there's affiliates of the show scouring this site of hardcore fans so please please please consider something like this when (not if) the ratings drop

i don't really care who the identity of red john is (nor do the majority of us  here). all we really care about is a rational DELIVERANCE AND EXPLANATION
(partridge most logical) but it doesnt matter i'll take a resurrected sheriff or even a depraved ron/michael kirkland as long as it fits.. and this fictional conclusion is near-perfect
please commence your 'red showdown'...

We all saw the shitheap that was last week's episode. After watching the show's pilot again, there is no doubt in my mind that Red John is Brett Partridge. Who cares what Bruno Heller threw together at the last second and called an episode? For such a well-crafted buildup, we were unbelievably let down as viewers. The way he (Partridge) enters, the way he describes Red John's actions, the way his eyes dart when Jane tells the team the RJ in the episode is a fake....... I look back at it and wonder how this isn't obvious to everyone. I can just say that the choice to use an old redneck sheriff as the brilliant serial killer who truly drove this show was a piss poor decision. I've been trying to stop myself from throwing a hissy fit over this but if this episode, an episode where a serial killer is not only defeated by a pigeon but calls 911 and suddenly feels sorry for what he's done, was the real end of the chase for Red John, I'm avoiding anything Heller creates in the future.

After watching the second episode of season 1 again (Where the Sherriff first appears), it seems that he was plaanning on kidnapping Grace and making her one of his victims. Good thing Rigsby came to the rescue!

Once again, FUCK YOU BRUNO HELLER. I don't believe in redundancy when it comes to an issue like this. Such an asshole.
