What if it ended like this: McAllister confronts Patrick in the church and under gun point he explains most things/clues because he likes to brags about it. So instead of 20 minutes running we could get 20 minutes of talking/mind games between PJ and RJ and get our clossure on some points (if there could be one). RJ finishes his speech by saying "You should have accepted that I am smarter than you" and PJ replies with "Can I show you one last thing?" and by that he throws in the air 2 handfulls of bread crums (no pigeon in his pocket) and a flock of pigeons living in the church rushes to them, RJ gets off balance and PJ gets on top of him and strangles him.

My theory lies in the fact that the "real" RedJohn is still alive, and that he has been using people as pawns to do his dirty work, killing people.
So the sherrif is indeed "the redjohn" that killed Jane's wife and daughter, but the one who ordered this crime, the real Red John, is still free and alive.

We see here a Red John that gives Patrick what he wants, the person who really commited the crime. Still, why? Maybe he wanted Patrick Janes to commit a crime and feel how RJ feels, so they can become friends? Big question mark!

For my choice, I'm going for Oscar Ardiles.

Just a heads-up to all the people who know the episode is fake: We've evacuated the website until Sunday morning, because we don't want to trawl through this crap.

Is there anything on this show that Bruno made up by himself ? Check out this picture,it's obviously the "inspiration" behind RJ's logo. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a137/Blink-182lover/Blink-182logo.gif

That is the logo of a band named blink 182.

Someone should really sue this man............. the makers of " The profiler " for instance.

I am not in DENIAL... I am being REALISTIC...

I will not talk about anything, any clue about the seasons before 6th. Just a few questions for all of us here:

1- Have you noticed the elaboration and delicacy of the things handled in this show? The way the cases being solved for example?

2- Do you think it's just a last minute decision to end the Red John saga early this season is made on random choice?

Please ask yourselves the above questions. Because not everything is money in this show business. Spielberg has money but he has a name as well. Same goes for Nolan, Darabont, Kubrick, Wachowskis, etc. All these people have contributed to this sector with something new or with a different approach. Money is just the natural outcome when you succeed. The main thing is having a name in the market. This you can only do by doing the undone in today's world. And I believe that Heller is trying to do this (even if he has to lie to his audience). Now, let me get to the point:

6th season only:

* Lisbon being kept alive: Sheriff has no direct bounds with her. There's no logical explanation why he spared him. Why would you shoot such a scene if it meant nothing? Just to keep people happy to see her alive? Because Patrick loves her? Well he loved Angela and Charlotte too but they didn't survive right? No, simply the good old sheriff is not RJ. That's why...

* 3 dot tattoo (3DT): Imagine that you're a narcissist egomaniac bastard burning with delusions of grandeur and you are building a secret organization where people die for you (I mean you have that much of power over them). Would you have yourself marked with 3DT just like your disciples? I wouldn't. I'd like them to know who the boss is and only the sheep can be marked. Not the shepherd.

* What makes Mc Allister different than Carter? Both claimed to be Red John, both admitted their crimes, both are dead (though Carter did it with more dignity), both proved that they can talk with a high pitched voice (it being Simon who voiced over RJ doesn't mean anything. It's just a figure.).

* The PI chic died not before revealing the 3DT clue was a mistake? Was it RJ who killed her? If he did, he took a break strangling her to show her the tattoo in his arm? Or it wasn't Red John who killed her but a disciple (still eager to show his tattoo)? If the purpose was to silence her, wouldn't it be much easier to put a bullet in her head with your silenced pistol? Onening the door is 10 secs, shooting her from close distance is 1 sec, getting out and disappearing is another 20-25 secs. Why bother strangling her? This end is open. it's open because there's much to tell in the future.

* What keeps RJ from speaking to Jane on the phone before if it's only to tell him that the game is over and he's won? I mean Bertram didn't look so busy in the church and he could have well held a phone to let the two talk. If RJ was such a coward who's scared of death, why would he come to meet him in person? Anything could have happen. FBI would frame him, CBI would frame him, anything. If I was red John, I wouldn't dare to lose my playmate that easy. i mean who says the game is over? Game can very well continue. Even if I am the boss of BA, there are thousands of members and nobody knows who I am. Why should I ruin it and ALSO lose my playmate for good by killing him or being killed by him? My face wouldn't be important. The only thing matters is that Jane should know I'm still out there. I don't have to come face to face with him to prove it. A simple phone call would do the job. What? Am I suddenly bored playing with the man I'd been looking for my whole life to play? if Jane will get me, he will have to find me himself. I wouldn't offer myself in a silver tray. Sometimes when you play cards with someone and you're constantly winning, the other guy may get bored and want to quit playing, so every now and then you let him win some hands just to keep playing and proving him that he can also win some. But the case here is totally different. I took his family's life. He will never rest until he beats me. Knowing this by heart, why would I just let him win? Because letting someone win in this case either means I'm dead or captured. Oh yeah, serial killers want to be caught. Yes, but not offering themselves like that. They want to get caught on action. Besides, the plot claims that RJ wants to be friends with Jane and that's why he reveals himself. If I were RJ and wanted to do such a thing, I wouldn't be carrying a gun in my hand. I'd just stand there unarmed and explain myself. Whatever the consequences will be. You can't become friends with someone and kill him at the same time. I believe that RJ is building the fundamentals for Jane to be able to befriend him. Friends have things in common. That's how you can become friends. Like two serial killers.

* One Red John disciple just jumps out of the balcony smiling and another one just TRIES to save him and then goes her own way? Another open end.

* Rigsby asking "is it ok to kill the boss?" rings no bells?

* Ok, I will talk about only one thing from earlier seasons. Rosalind said RJ had a gentle voice right? What part of Sheriff's voice is gentle? Or was he using that funny voice all that time he spent with her? God, he would have throat cancer already.

Such plot holes do not happen in shows like Mentalist. If they do, Heller's production career gets damaged (whereas I believe that he is planning the contrary)

By the way, I started watching "Profiler". Definitely more thrilling. Highly recommended.

Savour these last 15 or so episodes because The Mentalist won't be coming back for another season I'm sure of it...The ratings will go way down after the next episode.
I have a really bad feeling about it, I don't know who will still care about the FBI and this new guy Abbott. I don't give a damn about them.

Yes, I care about Patrick Jane so I will check it out because of him but I'm absolutely not excited about the show anymore. I think there are millions of fans who feel the same way.
I'm always going to remember the first 5 seasons, they were great, but I'd rather forget this rushed 6th one.

I know a lot of people already said it, but I find it sad and funny at the same time, that the fake Red John was a thousand times better than the real Red John..They really messed everything up!

And stop saying we are 'hating' on the show! This is just a lot of people's opinion and it's ridiculous to say that we are haters! People can have opinions that are not the same as yours!

Ok People, here is a list of the Red John episodes:

Season 1: 01, 11, 23
Season 2: 08, 23
Season 3: 03, 09, 16, 23 - 24
Season 4: 01, 02, 07, 11, 13, 17, 23, 24
Season 5: 01, 05, 06, 07, 08, 13, 16, 18, 19, 22
Season 6: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08

People have been complaining that this Red John reveal felt rushed.
If you look at the episode numbers, anyone can see there is a growing frequency in Red John episodes. It's actually nearly perfect placement of Red Johns reveal.

And although Thomas McAllister was not who I thought was going to be Red John, he was only one of two from the list I thought it was, and I knew it was either him or Partridge, because it was always going to be one of the two dead guys.
So I'm not disappointed it's McAllister, because none of the evidence negates it being McAllister.
You at least have to admit that to yourself.

But to me it was a disappointing episode. And not even because, like a lot of people think, Red John turned out to be a bit of a whiny chump begging for his life. But because the way in which he took control of the situation wasn't at all clever. It was just a simple magic trick.
Which you could argue is why it worked. Red John may have been look for some elaborate trap didn't see one, had a false sense of security and that's why he went for it.

However, I much would have preferred a double episode with Jane managing to work out that it was McAllister and catching him.

If Heller had just made Jane somehow force Bertrams hand, catch him and make him believe he was still free, and force Bertram into the position of meeting Jane.

Perhaps if Jane had worked with the CBI, and arranged a scenario where the CBI would get close to Bertram but let him escape a couple of times, really turn up the heat on him and have Jane slip him a phone and Jane tell him,
"I know you're not Red John, but I know you know who he is. Lets arrange a meeting and you can use my car to escape if you tell me who Red John is".
Bertram see's a trap and doesn't trust Jane, but he explains that he doesnt care about Bertram, he only cares about Red John. He doesn't want the CBI to catch him, he wants to kill him himself."
Bertram's desperate.
The the Feds come in and do what they do, and Jane does what he does.
Bertram phones Jane a the park and Jane arranges the meet, tricking Bertram like he does into accepting the church as the meeting place.
When they do meet up, Jane covers his bases in case Red John is watching and is determined that Bertram is Red John to his face and the meet was just a ruse.
Jane claims that the CBI are on their way, knowing that RJ would know they've been disbanded, but Bertram wouldn't. Bertram decides to hurry things along, gets Cordero to pull the gun and so on.
Bertram gets shot, RJ turns up as McAllister, who feels an extra little nugget of pride of outsmarting Jane again when he hears Jane think RJ is Bertram.
And what happens, happens. Jane has the pidgeon because Cordero only padded him down as far as finding the gun.
Then on the grass, by the pond, when McAllister says
"Don't you want to know how I knew the list?" Jane says
"I live, sleep and work in a room surrounded by windows, all you'd need is a telescope. I don't care how you know."
Then with his hand pressing harder on his throat tells him,
"But when you set the concussion bomb in my house, you pulled me, Bertram and Smith to the next room. You placed a decoy body, set of an incendiary bomb and faked your death. That's when I knew it was you." You see confusion on McAllister's face.
"You got Partridge to change your DNA record before you killed him, that's how you fooled forensics. I knew I had you, but I couldn't tell anyone because you'd have run. I had to let you think you outsmarted me again, I had to make you think I thought it was Bertram."
Fear runs across McAllister's face and Jane squeezes more on his throat,
"I knew you'd want him dead. Just like Reed Smith. You always want them dead. And so I used him as my bait. I knew you wouldn't be able to resist coming to see me get it wrong again."
McAllister tries to keep him self alive a few moments longer,
"The list..... I'm psychic...."
Jane puts more pressure on his throat,
"Then you should've seen this coming"
Jane then squeezes the life out of him, as McAllister tries to push Jane off but hasn't the strength and he dies.

If that had happened, I'd have been much happier.
