If BH decided to make RJ a crusty old man..............don't you think Anthony Hopkins would have suited the role perfectly? That dude has a creepy aura around him and he is a brilliant actor himself........ too bad it had to Sheriff Mc.

Most of what you said did not make sense. BH did not fully close the RJ chapter.........there are too many things left unanswered and now in just one episode he expects us to forget about the last 5 seasons and turn a new leaf? Sorry bro that's just not right.

The main theme of the show was based on Patrick Jane's life, it was about "The Mentalist" and his path to get revenge on his familly killer, Red John. I guess it is wrong to say the main theme was based on RED JOHN, Red John was part of Jane's life and etc. Now we will just see a diferent chapter of Jane's life, of THE MENTALIST's life. The show is about Patrick, after all. Before anything, i am VERY disappointed with the Red John saga, the lack of explanations and etc. 

Red John is dead. That chapter of Jane's life is over. Now we have to see how he moves on after finally getting his revenge. "The Mentalist's" life go on. We have TWO options.

1 - Stop watch the show.
2 - Accept the ending of RJ saga and watch Jane's new life. 

In my case, i will do the 2.

as i skim through this site, i see all this commotion about some John fella...  but i dont know why because they only just aired the pilot 2 days ago


but in all seriousness, how are they going to end season 6?
keeping in mind it either needs to provide significant closure on the entire show or leave us on a hanger in an attempt to get renewed for one last season

I honestly can't believe some people are okay with the path this show is on at the moment................The only people who are happy right now are the ones who only watched this show for non-Red John episodes. That is the most idiotic thing ever because the main theme of this show was based on Red John!!!  BH should have finished this series when RJ was killed in a proper way which he obviously wasn't.................. it's all one big mess.
