Just like many of you,i am still watching this show in hopes of seeing the return of Red John (however small the chance of that happening). Maybe all of us (including me) who have been insulting Heller and the writers are in for a shock....................... because it just seems wrong that they would move on that fast from such a huge plot line such as Red John without even one explanation.
Fingers crossed Red John will be back.
Red John is an egoistic son of a gun. Look i love the guy with all my heart, but the way he says "Who are you? Huh? No one" I'm probably not 100% right on this, but this is from my observations and since i'm trying to become a psychologist.
But i think Thomas had a problem, he thought that he was someone that no one could beat. Like his father did when he beat up his mother and him as a child. You see my point? If not...
What i'm trying to say is: Red John had daddy issues.
It might sound weird but think about it. How Thomas said "Who are you to judge? Who are you?" and patrick replied "I'm no one..."
He wanted to beat his father, make him feel like he isn't great.
Basically what i'm trying to say is Red John had problems, He had Daddy issues and tried to be someone greater than his father but at the same time a bad man...
Also the ornithophobia (fear of birds) could be something from his childhood. Who knows?
Now i'm not saying this is Plausible and I'm not saying that this is unlikely either. But this is from my observation.

questions, but they just are going to have to wait a week and then see

I'm trying not to be all negative because I still believe the Red John story is not over. I think CBS switched the Mentalist's time slot to the doomed sunday night time ratings dropped drastically Heller had to do something this is all a publicity stunt the rest of season 6 will be the New Beginning shaking up the show and getting new viewers and in the season 6 finale Red John will be back in the picture blowing the minds of the hardcore fans like us who were furious and bringing the new fans into the Red John storyline The Red John storyline was the best mystery on tv and the Red John reveal didn't seem like the Mentalist there's no way it is over i'm only still watching because of that belief IN THE SEASON 6 FINALE THERE WILL BE A RED JOHN MURDER or RED JOHN WILL CONTACT JANE season ends fans go fuckin bonkers the show goes back to Thursdays season 7 is the hunt for the real red john
RED JOHN THOUGHT PATRICK NEEDED A VACATION -- because the obsessive pursuit of RJ was controlling Jane's life and Jane was starting to lose his touch
So, RJ used McAllister as a pawn and in the process Red John killed several birds with one stone:
1) he cracked open Tyger Tyger, which clearly he wanted either gone or thought gone
2) he gave PJ some peace and emotional satisfaction in thinking he'd killed RJ; and
3) Red John is thought gone by the world, giving RJ a break, too [The GREATEST TRICK the devil ever pulled was making the world think he didn't exist]
I BELIEVE TYGER TYGER might be gone; but RED JOHN still LIVES
NOW, RJ WANTS JANE BACK -- GAME ON
