All shows run re-runs during the Christmas break. What's new this year is that several CBS shows have chosen to do mid-season "crisis" or re-boots or re-directs of their shows (Elementary, Person of Interest, etc.). Normally the shows simply run episodes from the previous or current season. I agree that it is interesting that S5E2 was chosen. Remember that this show centers on Jane's sub-conscience, through the appearance of his daughter, telling him to move on from RJ. We can take this two ways: BH telling us to move on or the theory that has already been out here, that Jane is in the hospital because of the explosion. It doesn't make sense that he has been hallucinating since S5E2, it makes more sense that he is in the hospital as a result of the explosion. I think that we are getting more red herrings and BH is running a con on the viewers. I still haven’t made up my mind if RJ is dead and there will be a new underlying mystery or if Jane is in a coma. Both are the strongest theories currently. .

Anyone else find it odd that jane is now telling people that he has psycic powers .
I know he was playing the girl but he is alwaus insistant that psycics are fake .

Something to think about i guess.

Of all the reruns to air tonight, they choose the one where he hallucinates his daughter, and drinks the tea at the end of the episode to see her again. 

I had once posted that everything since this episode was a dream, and the real Red John reveal was yet to come. 

Playing this one makes me think they're hinting at that.

i just want to see Jane's reaction in a possible return of Red john.
Imagine that.HOLY Jesus.
Although, if the show continues the way it is going now, I'm not that willing to watch it anymore.
The Mentalist's identity was Red John.Without him I can't see the point of the show.

On the other hand, if RJ returns and Jane still wants to kill him, I don't know, it's kinda like Jane becoming a serial killer and a maniac eventually.
So, our beloved creators of the show, really fucked up.I'm sorry to state that, but it's true.They drove the show into a dead end.

And if RJ isn't coming back, I still want the answers in all our questions.

So, pretty much everybody agrees that RJ revveal episode was a failure.  To me, this whole season was after the first few episodes.)  But you know what, in certain aspects, it was a great comedy, perhaps intended:

RJ cuts off
PJ to boast if his accomplishments and the grandeur.  He built a large
secret society, full of members from all different walks of life, cops
included, all ready to die for him at a moment's notice. 

And then, who is his backup?  An old church lady with a potato peeler!

Now you can now enjoy the show better...
