Basically if you are passionate about something it is not a sin. Being dispassionate in life will get you banned from the heavens above.

Listen to stoopkid, seeing red s1e7 has a lot of answers. Start around 19.00min when gvp and jane make a visit and to walk into Kristina Fryes house. Listen to Fryes voice over the intercom thing it has that red john feel/sound to it. She says, "Be right there take a seat please" The biggest clue ever was on the other episode when red john says roll tide. Either she told red john about the dinner her and jane had or she's redjohn. Simple as that.
