Unfortunately, nowhere does it state Red John has -returned- for episode 20, just that Jane may be going to trial for his murder. This is not to say that Red John may be returning, but based on the summary it may be simply to get the closure on Red John we have been looking for, at least that. This means that, during the trial (if it occurs), we may get an explanation for some of Red John's clues and actions. Then again, it may just be a half-assed cop-out from the storyline, again. I'm more inclined to believe the latter.

I'm baffled as to why some of you still have faith in Bruno Heller to deliver something spectacular.

A few things may happen here:

-Jane may create another ruse to avoid the trial altogether
-Jane may come up with another heartfelt speech to win the favor of the jury and get a verdict of "not guilty" (as he did in the beginning of season 4)
-Abbot may hold to his agreement and find some way to create a mistrial
-(very unlikely, but hoping)The real Red John will engineer something during the trial to void the charges against Jane and renew their game, or something similar. As far as this idea is concerned, though, it is operating under the assumption that Red John successfully framed Mcallister and has retired from killing for some time now, and Jane's trial would rekindle Red John's narcissism since he wouldn't actually be dead, forcing him to reveal he is not dead, which is why this is 'very unlikely'. Also, Heller doesn't seem capable of something like this.

All in all, my personal expectations are not high for this episode. There is only so much that can be done in three episodes you see, and the producers of The Mentalist aren't exactly masterful at showing quality and progression in a short amount of time (just look at the Richard Heibach BS). Whatever you may believe about this episode, you have to agree that deep down inside, you know it will probably be much less than we want.

The Mentalist Season 6 isn't over yet.....There's still hope.......... they can still salvage the season and save the entire series as a whole........... I have faith that the Mentalist will deliver another thrilling finale and possible series finale ...........everything will be explained         there's no way The Mentalist will end without a twist     no way                 if the series ends with a murder of the week ending with Jisbon I will fuckin delete every season off my harddrive and never watch another second of this fuckin show or waist another second thinkin bout Red John....................................................................................................................................................................................having McAllister as Red John ruins the character RJ and taints the entire series ....                and they did the same fuckin lame shit with the CBI Killer      Noname CBI agents killed   a list of suspects     the killer is the least suspected and most random suspect ....the pedorast who got his thumb cut off two years ago has been bugging cell phones and killing CBI agents with his crazy sister ..............and they didn't even kill the Rigsbys .............Wayne Rigsby getting shot was one of the best moments of this New Beginning........and they ruin it two seconds later by having him run out and saving the day....yey happy ending                    The CBI Killer should have been someone at least somehow connected to Red John ....and the Rigsby's should have been killed to add some much needed weight back into the show.....and the remaining episodes reveal Jane's masterplan and the truth behind Red John       The first half of episode 9 Blue Heaven should be the end of the series the end of season should have been the reveal of Red John's identity and Season 7 The Final Season will be the hunt for RJ piecing RJ's story together as the episodes go along and at the end of the series after we all have learned everything about Red John finally Jane gets his revenge .....then at the very end of the series have it timejump two years and show Jane dancing on a beach                        season's not over though   and I think at the very least Stiles is still alive and is secretly helping Jane capture the true Red John       you don't kill a character like Bret Stiles and a actor like Malcolm McDowell off screen   and how awesome would it be if Stiles shows up at the very end of the series and explains everything      the truth behind"Red John"

What the fuck is goin on? What has happened to this once great and entertaining show? This is fuckin crazy    lol        even if this "New Beginning" is some long con  does anyone give a fuck after all these delays and shitty murder of the week episodes?    If you would have told me before the start of the season that they would wrap up the Red John saga in 8 episodes   including Partridge's deatth in the first episode, an evil Kirkland twin that never shows up, and all that BA bullshit ..........and don't even get me started about episode 8 "Red John" .....cause my fuckin head will explode   if you would have said all that before the season started I would have smacked you in the face        and anyone who says that they didn't mind the Red John reveal/death is an asshole          you know what sums up this whole "New Beginning" coma dream is..................................Agent Fisher waving her wand around like a fuckin mental patient ...........really?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         my best guess of what happened is because of dropping ratings (almost down half from season 3) CBS moved The Mentalist to Sunday night (a fuckin death sentence)  this pisses Heller off making him take a deal with Fox (he's somehow gonna fuck up Batman now)      he picked McAllister's name out of a hat  and gave no proof or explanation (if McAllister was Red John from the beginning they could have wrapped that up by the third episode of the first season)                 the only thing that still gives me hope is that the season isn't done yet and the belief that Heller and Patrick Jane are pulling off the biggest and smartest long con of the entire series        if not they should have ended Red John at the season 3 finale   and made the BA they next Big Bad in the next two seasons and had the CBI Killer(done right and not the way they did)  for the final season                                             anybody who dies off camera is not really dead            and the only interesting thing about Pike is that the actor who plays him is on Game of Thrones and he is amazing in it      he has to be more than just a weak love interest for Lisbon                                                                                                      thank God there are still shows like         The Wire    Breaking Bad   Game of Thrones    True Detective    Sherlock    Walking Dead    Justified      Banshee       Orphan Black

I miss Brett Styles.
Regarding the Red John trial i really believe Lisbon's story line and Janes story line will intercept.
Pike wants to take Lisbon away from Jane as Jane is awaiting to see if he will have to go to court for Red John.

I have always thought Jane joined the Fbi to check it out.
A fishbowl. He knows his teams deepest feelings and i am sure he has searched the whole Fbi by now.
This is the main reason why i accuse Agent Pike as Rj.
Hes fbi but likes Art. Likes Lisbon and acted like he had seen her before.

I see Lisbon saving the day in the end because Jane looks like he has his hands tied.
We cant leave out Visualize tho. They like Red John will have to be spoken of again.
I hope Brett's alive and although he is a perfect Red John acting wise, i really dont think he is him tho.

Super Rigsby is very suspicious but he said he is done with the show.
Can we really trust any interviews tho?
Hey heller will red john return?
Yea i was planning on a big surprise for the audience but since you asked ahhh fuck it.

Hi everyone, hard to wait until Sunday/Monday !

Maybe may we countdown our time-left until the release of the episode.
4 things might happen (decreasing probability) :
- the stalker will continue to grab more attention
- nothing unusual, everybody will post new theories
- the website will be down for a while due to huge amount of submit.
- everybody will be hacked by this goof on feet

Have faith people, maybe the episode will be good, at least we could learn more about Marcus Spike.

Please share your thoughts on this:

I can't wrap my head around the CBS television executives.

The show is always delayed, or viewings are cancelled due to sports, events and whatnot.

Apart from that, it has been moved to the time and date "where shows go to die" as sunday evenings are being referenced,

Yet it still pulls a 9-10 million viewers domestic, with another 12-13 million of DVR viewings.

This show has everything against it (as of now, even crappy, shallow, uninteresting episodes), but it pulls an average audience still.

What could they be possibly thinking of replacing it with and expect to get the same results?
