I will never be convinced the Red John story line is over unless every single clue is answered.

Apparently CBS will cancel The Mentalist and Warner Bros. are shopping around for another network. They likely already have it for the seventh season.

That said, I sincerely hope Simon Baker gets to take over the show; maybe he also sees what an atrocity the "RJ = Mcallister" thing was, and he may actually listen to us. This is one of the most popular Mentalist sites on the internet, do you really think no one in production has visited whoisredjohn.com? This is my message to you, Simon Baker! Now that the show might be heading off to a new network, with new negotiations and new deals...FIX THE RED JOHN STORY ARC!

I've said this time and time again, but even though Xander Berkeley could have been perfect for Red John...His character WAS NOT. At the very least, with Xander's new look, they could have introduced someone new portrayed by him. It could have been engineered to make much more sense. But what is done is done. The only plausible suspects for Red John are and have always been: Brett Partridge, Ray Haffner, and Bret Stiles. They are the only individuals with the traits, SKILLS, and personality that overlap in some way with Red John. Thomas Mcallister IS NOT and DOES NOT. He makes no sense as Red John.

Honestly, we've stuck with this show far too long to just let it die like this. Someone start a petition or something.

Just wanted to share a neat documentary I found on youtube. It aired just prior to the season 1 finale. In between a lot of typical idealizing there are a few very interesting tid bits, especially in part 1:

For example around 4:30:
It's Heller describing the show followed by Baker. Bakers facial expression when he talks about deception is just priceless. You can really see how much he appreciates the irony of being deceitful while still giving an honest answer.
They cut back to him again at 5:55, after that there is the the part about mentalism that continues in part 2 and maybe the most interesting thing about that documentary.

At 0:30 of the second part the show a clip from 116 saying Jane reads Van Pelt non verbals. In fact at that point of time in the episode he is supposed to be blind, if that is in fact the case a very bad example to chose otherwise a great one. Also like that woman mentalists comentary.

I'm just bored to death. I just can't believe they chose to don't give a damn about giving more backstory about RJ in the 6x20, it was our only chance to see something else about the character...

This is just so dumb, so stupid, so insulting. 5 fuckin' years building theories, BECAUSE of Bruno Heller and this crew of dumb screenwriters, with such things as :

-RJ has worked with Visualize!
-RJ has turned Krye into a mindless zombie!
-Kirkland kills a RJ accomplice EVEN IF IT IS STUPID AND POINTLESS (there WOULD have been a point IF Kirkland was the long lost twin)...
-etc etc...

And in the end, nothing, nothing, nothing. They just... Blow up... Visualize's leader... a worldwide sect... with absolutely NO consequences... they just put that stupid and lonely sheriff, pigeonphobic, as the great RJ who seduced countless women, turning them into his drones, using some psychopaths and making them believe in him to the point of gladly giving their life in his name...

Oh god, oh god... I just hope, please, that someone will write a book, even a databook, telling us how to explain all this shit...
