Jane did put explosives in his house... Did you see Rigsby's map of people when the second bomb exploded? Did you see the way Jane looks at the RJ smiley face and walks across his house with an air of finality? And I think Jane had recently come off a case where he helped a drone company, so he could have called in a favour for military-grade bombs.

At the start of that episode, Red John sends a note to Bret Stiles saying "He's looking for you," the 'n's are notably the same as the murder note at Sophie Miller's house. Bret Stiles had been missing since the list of suspects tape was released. I don't think there's a coincidence. Red John asked Bret Stiles to disappear, using the FBI cold case as an excuse.

When Jane gets the information about the 'three-dots,' he says he has *leverage*. That is not a word to say you've got a defining clue. It means, he knew the three-dots would not be enough to find Red John. Jane was after something else. Jane finally had an excuse to draw out Stiles.

If Red John was Brett Partridge, Stiles' knowledge is the best chance for Jane to find Partridge. But Stiles wasn't going to just give up his whereabouts. Stiles said, "I shall return!"

Then there's a missing episode, where Jane should have captured and killed Partridge and we got the answers to the mystery. But in place of this episode, was a silly episode, which bordered on playful at times, but mainly silly.

Then, 2 years later, some guy called Roger is at the beach... he speaks English. "He's not a great talker," Jane said. Stiles said he'd return... was this his return? He looks a broken man. Did Jane break him? Did Stiles give up Red John? Since season 6 resumed, we find out Red John is dead. But Red John may not have been McAllister, as we hear that Jane never specifically admitted to killing McAllister by the testimony at Jane's fake trial. And Jane also says at one point, he's killed the man who killed his wife and kids. There's a lot of tip-toeing around the exactitude of the situtation.

In conclusion, episode 8 just doesn't fit with the story before or the story after and could easily be re-done. An alternate ending wouldn't actually hurt in this instance as it would be easy to fit in a Partridge ending, because it would fit in so seamlessly.

Did jane set the bomb himself?
Never thought this until i noticed he turned the heat up in his house.
Why would he do this? Comfort? Its La!
Jane is very good at explosives as is Red John

Heller comes onto this website every day waiting for the Sheriff to overtake Brett Partridge... so that he can finally reveal Brett Partridge as Red John.

Many months later, in an interview alongside cast members, he will declare "Noone saw it coming." Cho will stand up, and he will look in the eyes of Jane and Lisbon. They will both nod their heads together. Cho will explode into a sprint, and will proceed to carry out a crunching take-down of Heller. By the rules of the show, Heller will finally break, and explain to Cho and the audience why he killed the show, not sparing any details.

It doesn't matter whichever way its being dressed up: Red John was working against the BA or working with the help of the BA. Either way, Jane killed the man who killed his wife and kids. And this man was a sad and whimpering disappointment.

Timothy Carter knew what Jane's daughter and wife smelled like the night they were murdered. He got this information from whoever killed Jane's family. If Timothy Carter is BA, then he received this information from a fellow BA person. Then we find out McAllister is this man, the head of the BA. Jane killed McAllister, the man who killed his wife and kids.

Finding out there's another Red John who didn't actually kill Jane's family would just be another unnecessary low blow. Not to mention the majority of the viewing audience don't give a crap about generic corrupt cop associations.

Timothy Carter was given an award by THE SHERIFF for making a search team for a missing girl. The missing girl that was in his basement.
The Ba always to me had a sex slave spin to it. Macalister salivating over Van Pelt was interesting. If only he had a van and some candy.
Wouldn't it be cool if this human trafficking thing from season 6 was connected to the Ba? It ended kinda cool but the bad guy didn't seem bad enough.
I tell you what tho, the first thing that came to my mind when i saw his face for the first time.
Immediately a name popped in my head and i am curious if it did with you too. He looks like the brother of a character we are all not to fond of right now. Rip. If somehow that was all related it be cool.

Watching the season 3 finale and 4 opening was very interesting as you can see i cant shut up about it.
Its blatant to see that Bertram was intent on Jane going to jail for Carters murder for obvious Ba reasons. Ardilles too.
-But what i don't get is this...why would red john want Jane to go to jail? The Ba sure did, somebody stole the gun and phone making sure Jane went to jail.
Rj would not want to the game to end like that. What fun is toying with Jane when he is in jail? Shit he killed Bosco just so Jane could have the case!

Another thing that struck me. Jane when he thought Carter was Red John, was happy as can be when he killed him. Comical with his sense of humor in tact when he asked the waitress for the check. Maybe Jane was menopausal by season 6 and the Macalister stuff got to him?Nope.
This episode was the beginning of the Ba type Red John. Before this he was some guy who by himself killed women in the cleanest way possible.
This episode he uses a guy with a bomb to get codes to an account with money stuff on it but the plan blew up so to speak. Then he hired a hitman to kill hightower in a hotel from intel he got from wispers in cbi that were planted. That plan crashed hard. On the pavement. The hitman jumped to avoid jail.
Then there was Olaughlin walking into a house in daylight to kill what 8 people ? Haha

*For red john to switch his style up like this so drastically and sloppily for reasons ONLY to kill Hightower and ONLY to frame her for the Todd Johnson murder? Johnson his own person who succeeded in killing cops for him? Do you see how that does not add up? I bet nobody thought the writing was bad in season 3 right?
Well its not bad, there is a reason for everything. Why would all these strings connect in the 2nd to last season anyway? Baker was signed on for 7 years for a reason, this encore would of happened no matter what.
-if i didn't watch the old episodes i would never pick up on anything. This summer you guys should watch the classics with what i am saying in mind. Heller does not matter he is a name. The writing team and Baker make the show and they most likely would like to tie up their show in its FINAL SEASON.

The best evidence or line for Jane being Red John came in the Bosco murder episode.
When thinking about what evidence Bosco was on too related to Carter Peak which happened years ago
Jane says "Well I AM younger and less experienced at that time"

I know he was thinking in terms of Red John but you have to hear him say it.
Thats all he said and it was way awkward. Watch that again..

so if we are going to pretend that RJ was not a pathetic small town sheriff who was afraid of birds, who was an avid hunter but carried the worlds weakest gun the meet his nemesis, who couldn't manhandle GVP, who had wicked awesome PC hacking skills, then we need to explain why he hasn't killed in nearly 3 years.  serial killers don't just hang up their blades and call it a day.  they are addicted to killing, much like the way that formercop is addicted to being a raging douchebag.

maybe RJ has put a hold on killing to concentrate on his hew wife and baby......
