LATEST THEORIES

Hi!

I'm re-watching the show from season 2! (I've seen season 1 too many times..)
I'm nostalgic, happy and sad at the same time! This show used to be the best of the best!

Normally I remember in each episode who the killer is but there are a couple of episodes where I forgot! It's so much fun to watch Patrick Jane when he is at his best, the screen comes alive when he is smiling and tricking people!

Ohhh, the good old days, I miss them so much!!
Amazing show at the beginning and it represents a time in our life when we had so much hope and everything was possible! Red John could have been anyone!!!

I don't know what to say about season 6 but I'm happy I got to experience the first 5 seasons and be a part of the excitement! :)

What If There Is No More Red John?

Well, I exhausted all my good theories, but what if we reached the end of the fuse and Red John really was the Sheriff who saved Jane's life despite the danger of height, just to change his mind few days later and try to reunite him with his ill departed loved ones.
It's time we face that possibility and let our imagination run wild to what may become the most pedestrian ending to a TV show ever sanctioned for extended life span.

First, we jump in time 6 years ahead.
Lisbon is still with Jane (surprise, surprise. she is not with Marcus because then we would be scratching our heads to what the heck just happened, and she is not with a completely new face either, because that would be too creative for our simple comprehension... no, she is with Jane)... and they have a child.

It's a boy.

No it's a girl.

Oh well, it doesn't really matter what it is, IT is healthy and that's all we can hope for an offspring conceived in a relationship between two siblings. It responds to John even though it's birth-certificate indicates Brett Thomas Ray Gale Bret Bob Reede Roy Jisbon. The red dress looks fabulous on the child's first day of pre-school.

When Lisbon arrives to pick up the her...ahem... pride and joy, she is immediately importuned by the teachers to assist them in solving a crime committed earlier at the day-care. Apparently, someone dipped few pacifiers.in shet. Lisbon not having a good day herself, brushes off the offer with; "Wait few days. Whoever's pacifier remains clean is the culprit." Although, her advice seemed logical, at the same time it was dismissed as a frustrating process for the day-care owner who seemed genuinely concerned over the law suits his enterprise may face in the process. Despite the proffer of substantial bribery, Lisbon was firm in her decision displaying no interest in changing her already hectic schedule for petty matters of no-no's like the one at the hand... or should we say at the mouth.

Jane, on the other hand jumped on the opportunity to postpone his overdue chores at his domestic nest, and willingly offered his superb investigation skills to solve the mystery of the day (care). All he asked for was a cob of corn and little bit of privacy. He shielded his frolicsome actions by turning his back to all the present until his plan was fully set in motion. Once completed the task, he lined up all the kids and fed them corn like farmers fed their gooses. Afterwards, he sent them away to drink some soda pop from the baby beakers already awaiting them in the lunch room. He prevented all the grown ups from following the kids into the establishment until a sharp scream from inside ended the awkward silence.

"Aha!"

Soon as they breached the premises, a child run towards them complaining that  someone shet in his juice. Jane, without startle, cautiously lifted the lid off of the cup and vigorously stirred the liquid full of an unknown dark matter, until the foreign substance dissolved leaving a single red kernel floating on the surface. It was time for Jane to reach into his memory box to recall the exact kid he fed that red kernel to... however, to everyone's disappointment... he drew blank.

Driving home, Lisbon without uttering any words of comfort will imply with smile from the corner of her eyes, that Jane has lost his touch. Patrick will smile back with slight embarrassment hiding his shame in reciprocal silence. Once home, Lisbon runs in the house to grab the ringing phone, before the unknown caller hangs up, while Jane turns to his child:
"Don't worry kiddo! This will remain our secret."

Oh, you are probably wondering why Shettrick? Do I really have to spell "it" out?

I tried to defend this show and what bruno heller was doing but I just cant anymore. Ive got no faith left whatsoever in this tv show and the red john storyline. Heller had planned everything up until timothy carter, but due to high ratings and the show being renewed, he had to invent that timothy carter was not actually the real red john. From that point on heller had no idea what he was doing, all his clues of the past made no sense and he was just trying to extend the story for the money. When finally there had been enough waiting he had to decide who red john was, he had no idea so he just picked a random guy who made no sense whatsoever, but heller didnt care, he just wanted the red john story to be over because he had no clue what else to do.

Heller is already doing his new tv show gotham and doesnt give two shits about the mentalist. He is just milking its last moments with the jisbon storyline because he knows he has a big audience in there.

Dont expect red john in 13 episodes of season 7. It will most likely revolve around jane and lisbon and weekly cases thats it. Heller wants to end this so he can concentrate on gotham, he doesnt care about the fans or the story, leaving the red john thing without any answers. Well ofc there are no answers, because he had no clue what he was doing. How is he gonna provide answers if he made up everything even if it didnt make sense. Fuck heller

When Kira Tinsley was killed, the bloody smile was not displayed.

How can
Red John forget that detail?

I still think MacAllister was the right hand of RJ. He made the killing of Kira Tinsley when RJ was not present.

Who Is Red John?

We don't see anything from his point of view. The writers don't give us the chance to analyze him from the actions he is about to commit, nor giving us the present of his monologues. He is hidden well. What we know about him is what Jane and his team uncovers.

Some made distinctions regarding him as a womanizer and a perverted serial killer as two separate persons. Not in my opinion. He collects woman like scalps on display. The difference is in those who fall for him and those who don't. The ones that accept him as their leader/lover live to see another day, those who don't... well the smiley is upon them.

Following this logic with Lisbon in mind, to whom did she denied her love?
Haffner and Marcus.
Haffner is out of the picture at the time, while Marcus I presume is still in it. At least he is still alive. Will he let Lisbon go to the arms of another man or will he punish her severely? This question is worth of a Red John answer.

The fake letter Jane wrote in Bluebird that he graciously "let" Lisbon the honor of cracking it might have been Jane's way of inconspicuously telling her "stay, don't go. H is M", but clearly Lisbon didn't get the message so he did the only thing Jane could have done to keep her from going into the lion's den.

Whether we like the result or not one thing no one can deny to the show, is that there is no lack of suspects. It almost feels like, whenever the creators cast a member they gave them the script with a side-note:
"Top Secret for your eyes only; Here is your script. BTW on the end YOU are THE Red John. Now act like him!" (Yes, female characters and extras included)

In the season 1 finale which was great you should re watch it,
I noticed that Red John wanted Jane to see the letter from Roy Tagliaferra as well as wanted Jane to meet Rosaline. Jane was not gaining on rj, rather Rj was leading Jane to things.

Now Dumar thought Rosaline screwed things up and for him she did. But Red John obviously wanted Dumar to get caught, just like his dad was years ago. Orville Tanner.
Dumar was just a pawn to lure Jane.
But who is Roy?
-Also whats weird is that Rosaline Harker was on the BA list that Jane showed to Abbott.
Her name was not blacked out so that means she was already caught.
So maybe she was Ba with Roy and Red John wanted to lead Jane to both of them.
Maybe Roy was Macalister who smelled like earth.
Or maybe Roy was a KIRKLAND and smelled like earth!

The only thing that deters me in this theory is the ep when Rj returns and puts a body in Rosalines closet.

While i agree Partridge will make a great serial killer, he doesn't fit the Red John character. Red John was pounding vag on a daily basis and convincing the ladies to sacrifice themselves for him. Partridge comes off as a sexually frustrated type of serial killer rather than a master brain washer/ Vag pounder. Haffner under the guidance of Stiles is the perfect explanation.
