LATEST THEORIES

Here are a few theories on Robert Kirkland. I don't think that he is RJ, and I think that him getting a facelift is absurd. I hope that the writers wouldn't do that to us the viewers. But I do think that he is corrupt in some way. 

1. He is an accomplice of RJ. Probably very high up, but rarely seen because of his deep cover in Homeland Security. He may be RJs right hand man, even. He was seen by Jason Lennon once many years ago, and RK asked Jason if he could recognize him. Not because he has a "new face", but because he could have blown his cover and wants to be sure that no one else knows who he is. If Lennon had known who he was, RK would have had to kill the people he had told about RKs true identity. He kills him anyway because he is ordered to do so by RJ, so that Lennon can't tell Jane who Red John is.

2. Robert Kirkland is/was involved in the operation going on at the shelter and bought one of the women that were being sold. That would also explain him wanting to know if Lennon could ID him and thus know if he had told anyone about RKs corruption. RK then killed him so that he wouldn't tell PJ or anyone else about his involvement in the operation at the shelter.

3. Both. RK is Red John's right hand man, but was never seen by Lennon until he bought one of the women from the shelter. Not knowing that Lennon worked for RJ at the time, he didn't use a disguise. So RK had to make sure that Lennon didn't recognize him so that he didn't tell anyone (especially RJ) about his involvement with the shelter. This would both cost him is job (and cover) in Homeland Security and probably his life from RJ for making mistakes.

I subscribe to almost the theories in which Patrick Jane is accused of being Red John, and I would like to bring a new one, a new clou. Let's take a look at the sign of RJ, at the smiley face that is drawn after any crime he makes. The similarity between that smiley face and the real face of Patrick Jane is obviously. Just look at the scene on youtube, about the voice of Patrick being the same with RJ's. The scene in the car, when Patrick jane looks that face which I'm talking about.  I reffer to his eye, the right eye which is let down. Where come from this similarity and why?

And if Red John was a woman?Erica Flynn (Morena Baccarin) has all the features: brown hair,  age, she is a sociopath. Moreover, we see manipulative, getting everything she wanted, especially among men. For example, we see an episode that CBI Ron offered him tea with a knowing smile.

Finally, if lorelei was not afraid to measure red as red can be john john is not monstrous but physically fine.

Patrick  succumbed to her charme. last words exchanged between pj and erica are "we'll meet again soon."

A theory that surprised everyone but with a big problem. She has appeared very late in the series and starred in Homeland

Look up TheMentalist301 - Never put your hands on Jane! on youtube. When bertram greets patrick, he calls him "our boy of wonders" which is exactly what patricks father called him in the flashbacks of episode 2x10... Coincident? I'm not saying that he is red john, but it is rather strange.

I suspect that Robert Kirkland is red john because when he bumps in pj and patrick asks if he knows Kirkland he replies "no but I know you" he also shakes hands with patrick and at the end of the episode where we see patrick Jane's first case when the woman in the limo ( don't know her name) says that patrick used to be in an insane asylum she looks in to the front of the car and says it's done there sits Kirkland and he says "good"

From the last episode I think RJ is Kirkland cause he's on the inside and his soft baby voice kind of matches RJ's from the episode where he quotes Tiger Tiger and he touch him before he walked away

People i think i might found another clue...
Beside the fact that RJ is most likely a Caucasian male, ~6 feet tall and short hair. There is the 4x13 episode when Rosalind is telling to PJ by phone, that "Roy Tagliaferro" is there with her and you can clearly see RJ's LEFT hand, holding a cup of tea!
On his fingers, there's no marriage ring so "He is Ma..." definitely doesn't mean "he is married". Plus (my opinion), the graciousness of his hand, holding the tea cup, might also suggest that he is English! (and also the "Tyger Tyger" quote).


About Kirkland... i was thinking thees days at another theory: What if Kirkland, like Lorelei, was once an RJ follower and now it's trying to chase him from the "inside"? That could be a reason for the concerns about his cover(?). Please don't send me to hell for this...it is just a thought :)
