Jane solves every crime.
Thus, Red John is Jane and will not get caught until Sherlock is brought in. I understand that Sherlock's contract has been completed since the 2nd season of the British show.
1.only she knows about how Patrik's child died(with out pain)
2.she has good friend in police for accsess to police data base
according to myself Red John is Red John...I mean that he's an alterego of a person whose name isn't even John, but we haven't see him yet...and I think that even all the people who work for him know him, like O'Laughlin - too closer to Jane and stupid -
I think it is the 'blind' red haired lady.
I don't think she's blind. maybe she has special contact lenses or something?
When they found the morc- guy murdered in her closet, come on, she (says she) is blind, but I think you can smell a dead person when it's in the same room as you are! and I also think that sheriff hardy (something like that)and rosalind where lovers, because he did bought a stuffed elephant for her, and he did spent thanksgiving with her. she wrote a letter to that roy guy, in the letter she says that she found the adress on a buisness card douwn the back of the sofa. So, or she is not blind, or roy's buisness card was in braille! when Patrick tells her RJ killed his wife and child she opens the door and says 'I'm so sorry.' and she tells him that Roy is such a friendly guy. (that's when PJ finds the red john's smiley face.) And when she says 'we all make mistakes, God knows.' she can't look at him, even though she's 'blind'.

Just because he seems too thick to be a top cop, so must it must be an act. And the series is builing up to a "Woah, never saw that coming": Finale.
my partner has suspicions that red jon is Ron (Red Jon - R-ON) for the simple fact he's in most episodes always in the back ground and yet never involved, never speaks but seems to be close to everything in HQ. i personally have my eye on Jane, i share all the ideas as the others here do and yet i have a curious mini theory im putting out there so ponder on this... Why the smiley face? why the slanted out eyes and smile? get a pic of patrick and the smiley together and really look... very similar so ask the question why the red jon symbol is a slanted eyed smiley???
Ok even if I dont like it My Theory is that its Patrick Jane. It was especially when his daughter in à hallucination asked him if anyone knows who he is. I think that Patrick may have split personalities and La Roche was on his tracks Being an psycologist.

And it got me thinking that its Jane. I really hope that its Brett Patridge or Walter Mashburn or his Dad or an evil twin brother but that wouldnt make sense beacuse the creator wants us to experience something special in this show!
Since I think that Patrick has split personalities I dont think he is aware of that he is Red John and therefore he continues his hunt. That is My Theory for now
