I have a couple theories what if those 7 people were really Red John but then there was a head Red John  where those 7 people were getting their instructions from? and what if theose 7 people didn' t know who Red John was just a voice they they heard. Possibly it is Jane.  My other theory thinks that red john is still  Patrick Jane think of Leonardo's character in  Shutter Island Jane is trying to catch himself or like  the psychiatrist in The Ninth Configuration. Or who knows it could be Patrick' dad

I believe that we've known who Red John is for quite some time now. I think that Jane has a very strong theory that he doesn't want to believe...I say this because whoever Red John is could very well be someone from Jane's past, Perhaps his Father? Jane's Father encouraged Jane do trick people while they were apart of the Circus, although Jane did not feel comfortable doing so with the tricks of physic powers. But, Jane ends up doing that very thing for a living, fooling and tricking people for a financial gain, I believe that Jane's Father was upset about this and saw Jane as a Hypocrite. Jane's Father has sought out to teach his son a lesson. At first I thought Jane was Red John, how Epic would that be, huh? Jane himself sets up all these Murders and has accomplishes that only very few know who he really is. Perhaps Jane is a psychopath and will ultimately lead the CBI team directly to him and have them not believing what they see or what all the evidence is pointing to. BUT, that is just a wild theory that I had in the very beginning, LOL! I really think it's Jane's Father and the Finale of Season 5 taking Jane back to his past really makes me think its Jane's Father, who else would know about Jane's childhood secret and use it to hurt him?

I had a different theory before, but now I believe Gale Bertrum i s Red John.

First, he has close connections with Bob Kirkland, a strong suspect.
Secondly, when they were trying to trap red john before,  Bertrum made a -phone call just before Patrick Jane  unvieled his trapp at the4 hotel.

And I believe that Gale Bertrum was the first name the Jane revealed in his 7 suspect list of Red John,  explaining the leak in the CBI for all of the information ertaining to Red John.

I've just watched the season finale episode and I don't think any of the suspects on the list Patrick's got is Red John. This occured to me when Lorelai said "you think you are pretty damn clever, but you are not". I think Red John might be someone Patrick met way before his family was murdered maybe when he was young... However, I really think is that Red John's got a lot of "accomplices" or "friends" and some of them are in Patrick's list. I think we'll be completely surprised when Bruno finally reveals Red John in season 6. I can't wait!!!!!

It must be.

Brett Stiles: too old, too buddy-buddy with Jane; not around from the beginning

Gale Bertram: too old, spends ALL his time in the CBI, he doesn't have opportunity to network etc.

Reede Smith: is who exactly? no. Also, too big a frame.

Sheriff McAllister: another theory mentioned how creepy he was. I should also note how "baffled" he is that Jane can beat him in rock paper scissors in episode 1. HOWEVER. Where's he been? The audience would be pissed

Ray Haffner: again, may be connected, but hasn't been around much. He hasn't even "popped up periodically". I feel like he's in something sketchy (either with Visualize or Red John) but isn't the culprit. Also, seems pretty old.

Kirkland: so sketch. Honestly would think it was him if they didn't play into it so hard. I'm much more viable to agree with those who say he's also seeking vengeance, or thinks that it's Jane himself.

Leaving.

Partridge. He's been around since the beginning and fits all description. I find it hard to see, because he lacks the charisma of a world-know serial killer.

But isn't that the point of the show? Season 3 finale, it's all about how Red John is just another person. He's not a monstrosity, just a sick human. Partridge fits that. Works as a forensic investigator, likes to act out the scenes at killings, and has distinct animosity with Jane. I can't see it being anyone else now.

I've got to go with Lisbon's gut, and suspect Haffner. The guy rubs me the wrong way. We know he matches the physical description, he's the correct age, and he was at the barn when the murders happened. He's a member of visualize (So Brett Stiles would know him well, plus we know that Stiles knows who RJ is).

Also it would be ironic (and typical of this show) if it was Lisbon, not Jane, who figured out who RJ was. PJ solves Lisbon's cases. maybe Lisbon has solved Jane's?
