LATEST THEORIES

I believe strongly that Bob Kirkland is Red John or is an accomplice.

I think Bob is Red John for many reasons.
Here is a few:
- He never seems to have an obvious expression on his face, he is someone who doesn't feel loss, hurt or regret. A perfect image for Red John. The one time I've ever seen him smile is after he bumped into Jane in the CBI's office. After shaking Jane's hand and saying 'No, but I know you.' he walks off and then glances round with a grin on his face (kinda looks like the smiley face - RJ symbol). And I'd like to examine that he said 'No. but I know you.', he says Jane doesn't know him but he knows Jane. Exactly LIKE RED JOHN. Red John knows lots of stuff about Jane - in season 5's finale he connects with Jane's childhood/origin - but Red John believes Jane knows nothing about him and thinks Jane might aswell give up.
- He is the perfect age.
- He has contacts in: CBI, FBI and Homeland Security.
- He has a soft voice, Red John probably uses a voice changer/morpher. When he says "Thank you." to an FBI agent in a limousine he sounds rather high pitched and that matches (slightly) the voice Red John used when he saved Jane and recited William Blake's 'Tyger'.
- He seems interested in Jane's progress in the Red John case.

Some of the reasons above both fit for how he could an accomplice.

Red John could be an organization of several people though, or Red John is very manipulative, devious etc. and has MANY people under his influence/guide.

I think it's Sean Barlow. He knows Jane, is "psychic" etc etc.

Sean is the Irish name for John. Furthermore, before he lost his hair, I'd say it was red, because of his Irish gene pool.

What was Jane burning in the episode?

The list is in Jane's head, he wouldn't have a physical copy of it. Which leads me to believe the list he does have is fake to flush out Red John.

Robert 'Bob' Kirkland is an accomplice of Red John

Jane is MORE clever than Red John and knew something would happen to his list so he planted a fake list knowing someone would take it and whoever takes it IS an accomplice of Red John.
Jane wanted someone to take the list so Red John would feel safe because he would know he is not on the list.

This is why Jane was smiling when he saw the toothpick on the floor because he then realised someone had broke in and his plan is now in motion.

I think its Ray Haffner is RJ, Firstly Styles is to involved to bed RJ, he and Jane have a specal relationship and i'd want RJ to be a shock to the audience.  Bertram may be involved but i dont think he has the intelligence to fit the persona. Brett Partdridge again is a good dummy for the audience, hes perfect for the suspect, voice, heigh and age. i think he's a helper to RJ but no more. Ray has been involved from the beginning but we havent seen alot of him, hes part of the FBI team, one of which was an accomplice to RJ (Van pelt BF). Im sure alot that watch him ge a weird vibe off him. There's a scene where he tries to lure Lisbon onto his new project, she seems to be onto him and i think she may be the one to get him.

Clearly the series has gone on too long to end with a simple "it's one of the seven suspects" finale. I think Jane is insane, i think he has a multiple personality disorder that means he is Red John but at the same time he honestly doesen't know who red john is. As for the fact that Martins said he shook red John's hand and the fact that Red Johns accomplices never recognize him as being red John those are easily surmountable pieces of evidence that point against him. How does Red John know about his childhood memories? How does Red John always stay one step ahead of him? Its simple, Red John lives in Jane's subconscious. However there is one thing that leads me to be contrary to this belief and that is with regards to my suspicions related to lisbon. The fact that at the begninning othe season finale she is asked what happen to her hand and no answers are given was dropped in by the writers on purpose. However as with jane there is the whole thing regarding the handshake. I have a very strong feeling that that was just a huge red-herring dropped by the writers in order to fool unwitting spectators.

Here is my theory. After watching the finale, Heller gave us some dead clues.

-- Red John is someone in Jane's past. Someone he grew up with during the circus days. This was revealed through some past video during the season finale.

-- Red John killed a person in Jane's past. Not from the recent past, but a childhood friend. Jane mentions to Lisbon that Jane has not seen her in over 30 years. The last time Jane saw her was when he was 12 years old.

-- Red John knows Jane's secret in which Jane has never told a soul about until the finale episode.

So with those clues, I think we have an entire new list of suspects that are not in the 7 that CBS mentioned. If we are looking at Jane's childhood than we are looking at only a few faces.

Bret Stiles is old enough. But he doesn't have the look of a killer.

JJ LaRouche is a perfect age, but is too large. In the episode where Red John shows his shadow we see him as a average built man.

Bertram doesn't fit it because he's too naive and honestly doesn't have the motive to being a serial killer. Bertram is working with Red John that's not a question, but him being Red John isn't.

That leaves very few people left, I personally think it's someone that Jane knew when he was a young kid. The only person I honestly can think of it now is SEAN BARLOW who was in the finale tonight. He had that swagger about him, as well as had the build and the height. He was also incredibly clever and even got Lisbon's head.
