LATEST THEORIES

It's Bob Kirkland.
Either HE is Red John or he is an assistant and I'll tell you why.

1. He shook hands with Jane. Jane said "Do I know you?" and Bob said, "No, but I know you."
2. He killed the guy at the hospital who knew Red John and said, "Do you know me?" or something along those lines.
3. ffs he broke into Jane's house and looked at his board of clues to RJ that's how he knew the 7 suspects.

i think the RJ is Patrick's father. Who else can know his memories?

I believe Red John to be Sheriff Thomas McAllister.

I rewatched season 1 this weekend, and in Episode 2, Sheriff McAllister "loses" 6 times in a row to Patrick at rock, paper, scissors. I believe it wasn't Patrick that was playing the Sheriff, but rather the Sheriff was losing on purpose to Patrick and deceiving him all the while by making him believe that he bought into PJ's psychic charms. This is obviously a recurring motif of the RJ vs PJ contest, as Red John always seems one step ahead and in Patrick's head as was revealed in the latest episode. This maybe an over-analysis of a singular incident, but the Sheriff was looking Patrick directly in the eye during rock, paper, scissors, and if you've ever played the game, you always watch your hand or your opponent's hand, which gives rise to the possibility that RJ was actually playing Patrick's game all along.

Furthermore, at the end of Episode 2, Sheriff grabs Van Pelt and there is a brief moment of shock as Patrick and Lisbon are watching the surveillance inside of a motel room, where they then proceed to dismiss his involvement in the crime for no reason whatsoever. The Sheriff forcefully grabs Van Pelt and if Rigsby hadn't arrived in time, the Sheriff would have forced Grace to his car. For some reason this all disappears as soon as the Chef and his wife are caught at the end of the episode.

He was only in one episode if I'm not mistaken, so I believe it would be a clever way to end the series with the Sheriff being RJ as he is one of the most overlooked characters in the show, evidenced by the fact that I must post this theory under the accusation of "Someone Else" :P

RJ is Brett Partridge.

He has unfettered access to CBI.

Serial killers are notoriously narcissistic. They always hang around after a kill to watch the drama unfold.  BP is in the perfect position to watch and marvel at his work as a crime scene technician.

His continual arguing with PJ at crime scenes is just another way BP (RJ) toys with PJ.

I also suspect PJ is on to him as well by the way PJ dismissed him during the most recent episode.  It was almost as if he was telegraphing, "I'm know it's you, I just don't definitive data yet."

Here's what I can't get my arms wrapped around though:  Why are all of RJ's accomplices willing to die for him?  PJ has said he gives them something they want, but then they are either killed by RJ or commit suicide.  What does he promise them that they are willing to sacrifice it all for him?

Ok, this is me reaching a little bit, but with things like hypnosis and manipulation involved, you kind of have to.

Bruno said that one of the people on the list IS in fact Red John.  For a while, I have been like most people in thinking that Bret Stiles is TOO obvious...But after seeing the "final seven," I HAD to think that maybe it IS an obvious choice, but that the story behind it won't be obvious, and still surprise us.  Here is my fun logic behind Stiles possibly being RJ:
Bret Stiles is Red John...BUT he hypnotized Jane, making Jane the NEW Red John...One of the arguments against Bret Stiles is that he is too old, so perhaps he needed somebody to take over his Red John business and be his apprentice.Jane, being the master manipulator that he is, reminded Stiles of himself and he became very fond of Jane...Maybe after Stiles murdered Jane's wife and daughter, Jane went to visualize and Bret mentored him.  He then hypnotized him, and made him forget that he was ever a part of visualize.
This could also explain the "until you find me, or i find you..." from the video.Either Jane will find out about Bret Stiles being the past Red John, or Stiles will expose Jane as the NEW Red John and Jane won't be able to prove that Stiles had anything to do with it.
Side Not:  When Lorelei was reading the not from Red John, to me, it sounded like Bret Stiles speaking in the letter.  the whole "Bravo" and "you think you're clever?" stuff sounded like things Stiles would say...but who knows, the writers could literally make up ANY story for who is Red John, so it is impossible to tell.

Jane should kill all seven for good measure...
