This season changed the game. It's not who is red John anymore. The mystery of who is not important anymore, because for Jane to catch him, he will have to discover the how and the why is red John to discover his identity. The fact is, that for Red John to do this, he has to be manipulative and a showman. Meaning that any of those 7 can be red John . Jane has been able to do amazing things , and it appears red John has been able to stay ahead of him. The questions are now........

Why does Red John kill?
How did he choose his victims and know intimate details about them?
How did he meet his accomplices?
How does he have such a strong hold on law enforcement?
Why is Red John still toying with Jane?
Why did Red John stop killing except for protecting his secret? If he is doing this out of a serial desire and pride, he wouldn't have tried to hide and would have resumed killing even after Jane killed carter.
How does Red John know what Jane is thinking?
Etc.......,,,,,,.,
Truth be told, this guy is putting on a show. So any of the 7 could be red John and they all could work with red John.
This guy has contacts in law inforcement. Bertram, Haffner, smith, Kirkland,Mccallister,partridge,.
Visualize also has contacts in law enforcement which includes Bret Stiles and Haffner. No clue of any other evidence because we don't have it yet. Just a lot of maybe's and guesses. I wouldn't rule out anyone because the writers have set it up that it could still be anybody and any clues that don't fit could be explained by the misdirection of a master manipulator. It will be exciting to see the conclusion of this story and the answers to all the how's and why's which will be more important than the who. Brilliant

My wife walked through the room the room the other day while I  was watching the show and she commented that maybe Red John is the butchy red haired chick.  I assumed she is referring to Grace.  She bases this on a half assed watching of about 3 episodes of the Mentalist and no other evidence.  I believe this is about as plausible as Red John being BOB from Twin Peaks making a modern day appearance.  My guess: Sheriff McAllister.  He is the only suspect I can't truly eliminate with rational facts.  So little is known about him, the writers could make everything fall cleanly in place.  I also picked Mitt Romney to win the last election and the Redskins to make it to the Super Bowl and win last year.

 I am not really accusing anyone, but I think something's gone wrong with the clue's.

Rosalind Harker. 
She was his blind, ex-girlfriend yet she managed to describe him. She said he was just under 6 feet tall. How does she know that? 

She also described him as having short straight hair. I understand that she could of felt his hair but...

Everyone who knows/has worker/has had a relationship with RJ has ended up dead or has lied because they are obsessed with him. Rosalind is alive. But also she is blind, it would be easy to kill her.

He just left her... not even a goodbye. Why? Maybe he loved her but didn't want her to get hurt. 

He used the alias 'Roy Tagliaferro' so what if it was just a different guy who fitted the description? 

But then there's the smiley face of her wall, why draw it if she isn't dead and she's blind? She won't know it's there? Is it just there so people know she maybe had a relationship with him?

But she still doesn't know she was in a relationship with a serial killer. No one has told her yet. Why?

She was made to feel Timothy Carter's face and said she had never met him. So that rules him out. But wait, what if he wore a mask? But TC is dead so why are the murder's still going on? What if he really was TC and he was training other people to kill flawlessly?

Ok here goes:

       Red John has:
                               Brett Partridge: A lab geek like dexter, but covers up any identity traces RJ may have left at the scene

                                Ray haffner: A CBI agent and probably old friend from when RJ was with visualize

                               Brett Stiles: A cult leader, but RJ has something over his or Visualizes head or just loyalty to his former member. (But I believe Visualize does a lot of the dirty work for Red John...Stile's help with Lorelie is proof of this power)


                              FBI Agent Reed: an/the FBI informant

                              Sheriff McAlister: Local Law Enforcement (probably in the same area where RJ actually lives)

                            Gale Bertram: Friend of RJ

   and the one who controls the strings is Robert "Bob" Kirkland aka Red John

All 7 are guilty of crimes big and small...I guess next season will be the elimination of all these guys. So it looks like we will have 7 episodes that will eliminate 5 and the finale will come down to 2...either Bertram or Kirkland...maybe..just a guess.

I do not understand at the 5x22 Lorelei Martins said:

Lorelei read: "Until you catch me...or I catch you". It is nothing for RJ to catch PJ.Why have to kill more people to catch PJ?

think- as I sad earlier- there are many many irrelevant information,
their only purpose is to deceive you. Many things are dead ends, nothing
more.
If finding RJ only depends logic and skills of good observing, we already know who RJ is.

Lot
of deceiving things, for example: Do you remember the episode when
there was an another psychic who was PJ's client earlier?PJ ask if he
was the killer and he sad no.But when he left he touch, he rub his ear.
So, if someone knows about body signs a bit, he knows that is a sign of
lie. And guess what, he was not the killer.And it was one example.

Conclusion:
you cannot see things in this serie as they really happened. I bet if
somehow RJ shows his real face, at least 50% of the fans said:Oh, come
on, it cannot be true because...

I dont think that Lorelei actually is Red John however...

What if she is still alive? Makes the video easier to make. Getting the details of the pick is simple, camera, hacked computer, breaking in etc etc.

Lorelei was an avid follower of RJ then she finds out RJ did bad things to her sister, so she goes after him, THEN she is caught and basically does what RJ asks and doesnt appear fearful but actually accepts her death? Doesnt ring true to a survivor.

Also I JUST noticed that in the video showing the final 7 suspects she reads she has a bruise on her face and yet in the final death video of her on the bed she has a perfect face. YES he might have made her up with makeup but I find this strange.

I am also concerned as to why Jane broke the dvd so quickly. Wouldn't he want Teresa to evaluate it for details?

People that claim that ANYONE on the main CBI team is a suspect are just foolish. If it turns out to be Jane for example then I will have wasted 6 years of my life watching this great series because the writers will have misled us. Same goes for people like Teresa, Rigsby, Cho or Grace. Just be bad writing if they went after any of these people. I HOPE this isnt just a stupid soap opera.

I am disappointed in the list like most people as we have a couple basically no names on the list and some others that are important but are missing. However this itself may be a clue as the missing names may be the real deal. As others have already mentioned, did Jane make a fake list that was then transferred to RJ somehow?

One last thing, Brett Partridge is a ghoul is a freak but did Jane ever shake hands with him?
