CBI Ron - Season 1, Episode 16. 39 minutes and 47 seconds into it, the bomber is looking for Van Pelt and temporarily blinded Jane to kill Jane. They are in the parking lot at this moment and the bomber has his gun drawn. The lighting is very good and CBI ron pulls up right beside him with his window down so he can clearly see, and looks right at the bombers drawn gun in the CBI parking lot. To any other CBI they would immediately draw their weapon or if they didn't have one, go and get one. Instead CBI Ron looks right at it, and at the bomber, and drives away appearing scared. So, obviously, in some way CBI Ron is a bad apple. He's a recurrent "extra" and has a bunch of clues pointing to him being an accomplice or red john himself although that's less likely.

Anyone could be Red John besides a few obvious people like Jane or Lisbon, the rest of the team, etc because they are on the other side of the world when red john kills someone for instance in several episodes (one he kills a hooker and a pardoned fugitive in Mexico while the entire team is back at headquaters, only Minelli is away at this time, yet I don't suspect Minelli just for this one small instance, because I haven't seen enough episodes with him in it. He does fit the bill though because of his age, and love of politics since he's in a political job. Which would explain why Red John is always watching the media. But for now, I know that CBI Ron has about a 85% chance of being a bad apple, and probably linked to Red John in some way.

1. It's not Patrick. (Yes, it is really not Patrick)
2. It's not his father (RJ did this because he was "slandered in the media").
3. It's not a woman. (it should be obvious, but for example: RJ slept with Rosalind and I don't think she's lesbian)
4. We have already seen him.
5. A powerful and influential person.

So I'm going for Virgil Minelli and my secret favourite is Walter Mashburn.
Bret Stiles just seems to have a good relationship with RJ.

In the end the truth will come and set us free

This is what we know so far as this season and the reason why Kevin Corrigan has been introduced, and is a possible suspect to be RJ. If he isn't I think he is definitely working with him. Kevin Corrigan is playing a character called Robert Kirkland and is the man in the limo at the end of Red Dawn. He is going to be in at least Episodes 7 and 8 and probably more. It is interesting to note that in episode 8 Jane goes to Visualize to see Bret Stiles to help ferret out Lorelei....so we shall see how Corrigan aka Strickland plays out...I am sure Visualize is somehow connected..I don't believe Stiles is RJ...but maybe a former leader of the cult that was usurped by Stiles?

In my opinion with this relevation it makes no sense that RJ is any of the Lisbon's team. I mean why involve the FBI when Jane can be watched close up by the actual team members. So Alexa Shultz,  Strickland and who ever else is under that particular team of the FBI would seem suspect.

I believe that Patrick Jane, C.B.I. Consultant is Red John. It makes perfect sense! If you listen to Red John on the phone, it sounds like a distorted version of Simon Baker's voice. He is under 6 feet and he could have multiple personality disorder. When he is "sleeping" he is sub-consiously "sleep-killing" as Red John, causing him to feel like he has been up all night (insomnia). He most likely didnt know this was happening and he still currently doesnt know. One day he will marry Teresa Lisbon and sunconsiously kill her. (Prediction)

Im gonna go out on a limb and say Lorelei..i mean, how throw'd off would that be? But there is no way RJ is the man across from Alexa in the limo..that's just too obvious. that man's identity will be revealed

Yes, First of all, this is a brilliant website. Moving on to the theory of mine, i think its Patrick, unfortunately.

I just saw the Season 2 Finale(Red Sky at Night) for the 20th time or so. The premise is extremely intriguing. I mean, how in god's name does Red John end up at the place which was hard enough to find for Patrick in the first place? Also, Patrick has given numerous explanations as to how to recognize a hypnotized person. It all fits. Either he is hypnotized by somebody else, or he has an alter ego. Also, he seems to be ahead of Red John all the time. Also, the ridiculous death of Ganzer i.e The Supposed San Joaquin Killer, also, Jane is not shown on the show premises either. Its just too messed up, but yes, this is my theory.

also, Grace van pelt definitely is the Insider Red John has in the CBI.
