I personally believe Red John is Partridge.  If you look at his physique in Red John's Rules and then at Red John's physique in Red Sky in the Morning, they are incredibly similar.  He also fits the physical description of having short hair and being just under 6' tall, as he stands at 5'11.

Now that we got that out of the way...

Is has been established that Red John is or was a member of Visualize.  Bret Stiles obviously is the head of Visualize.  I have zero evidence backing this up, but it was a thought that came to me and I wanted to see what everyone thought...is there a relation between Partridge and Stiles?  Could Stiles be Partridge's father or a mentor at Visualize?  I'm quite sure that Stiles either knows who Red John is, or has a very good idea who it is.  Whether or not Stiles has anything to do with Red John or not, I'm still going with Partridge.

Hello folks,
1st - the first mention to "A Childhood Memory" was made by Jane to Lisbon
2nd - Jane knows that Red John is egocentric and wouldn't lose the opportunity to be a step head and show that.

3rd - Red John used the exactly same word "Childhood Memory" in the video.
Considering
the theory that Lorelei is alive Patrick Jane could've used the "a
happy memory from childhood " to test the loyalty of Lisbon and her
contacts, so after all it confirmed 1 thing, Lisbon is on touch with Red
John consciously or unconsciously.

Since she promised to report everything about the
case to Bob Kirkland and Gale, maybe she told Bob, who kept lorelei
Alive and used her to record a video of the list (since he stole
it!!!!), also used the opportunity to "I'll kill a happy memory".

Pls thoughts...

Having seen every episode, i cant say who red john is. For me, there is only two things which must be taking into account.

firstly it cant be the split personality of Jane himself, the episode where Jane is tied up and red john kills his would be killers, whispering "tiger tiger in his ear", rules that theory out.

Secondly, the final episode makes it quite clear that red john is in, or has been in Jane's head. he knew the list and also the memory.

I think its fair to say that the whole show is about the manipulation of the mind, is it unreasonable to think maybe Jane has in the past been hypnotised to give freely information and not remember doing so?

I love the show and pray that it doesn't run too long, with two many twist .. leaving only one option as  an ending, that of Jane in a mental hospital and the the characters being staff in said hospital. I'm of the opinion that the season 3 finally in the restaurant was the perfect ending.

I just read "along came a spider" by James Patterson at Last week about a killer who has a split personality. That made me think maybe PJ has a split personality as Red John. Pj knows a lot about little, insignificant details of red john crime scenes, maybe it's his unconscious brain telling him, a common theme with split personalities. The rj personality may be deliberately trying to set up situations for pj to lead him down a false road. Pj often talks about rj like he knows him like the back of his hand even though he had not met him face to face, he often talks about rj like he is himself!

Well, i dont know if anyone noticed this before. But today i was watching a re-run from a past episode when the team had a different boss........ the time when cho injured his back. So anyways the episode involved the CBI following this guy who they thought was going to snap at anytime and kill people. During the investigation Jane and the other boss were observing his characters to see if the suspect was indeed a "killer type". Fast forward the episode, Jane as usual caught the killer and out-witted the boss but at the very end the boss approaches Jane and says while he was observing the suspect he was also observing Jane. He said the qualities he observed showed that Jane was a psychopath and a killer!! This has to be the biggest clue that Jane has a double personality issue!!!
Also how could he have destroyed that fond memory of his.................he was the only one who knew about that. Anyways there you have it.

I have to admitt I love Wayne but I also agree that he could be red john because :

Red John likes the colour red and he had a relationship with the blind redhead and also rigsby loves van pelt the other red head. Wayne has a brutal streak as Patrick says when Wayne is hypnotised , he knows almost everything about Patrick and works with him everyday . Wayne's violent farther could have been in on this or even the blind red head.

The only reason that I disagree with this theory is that rigsby is that rigsby is so sweet and does not seem too smart.

Well, I can't say that I've watched all episodes, but I'm quite certain that Red John is not just a single person, but a cult. Their members are all over the FBI and CBI, which is how "he" gets to know everything, or they are CEOs or such, which is how he funds himself if required.
I think Bret Stiles is definitely involved: Bret has shook Patrick's hand, their characters are similar - they both know how to manipulate people and they both are 'mentalists' (if that's the true saying) -. And he knows about Red John's actions. For example, he told Patrick the location of Kristina Fry.
Please leave a comment below, I want to know if I missed evidence or haven't seen one.
