I money is on Bret partridge, however something weird that I noticed yesterday if you think of it 6 suspects are in law enforcement bret stiles seems to be the odd one out of the lot.

This is not a theory, but just trying to clear something up:

A lot of people use the example of Rebecca being killed while in jail, saying that the person who killed her is Red John.  Is there any conformation that this was (FOR SURE) Red John?
I know that people assume that it is Red John because Rebecca is so excited to see him, etc., but isn't it possible that she was just excited that Red John had sent somebody to end her life?
I might have missed something, and maybe they said in the show that it was him, but I don't think that there has been any real evidence that Red John killed Rebecca.

Let me know if I'm wrong!

i believe red john is jane's father, and bob  kirkland is his friend high up. bret stiles is involved because rj was with visualize once. but the only one who could have known the happy memory is jane's father, and rj's attitude towards jane is somewhat personal from the start. bob kirkland does seem creepy, and has killed for red john once already. partridge and sherrif do not seem to be suited since both do not follow every second of patrick's life... so final verdict, its jane's father Alex Jane.

it think its Bret stiles but furthermore I believe he has van pelt under his wing with him  ...Only 4 people knew of Janes happy place in s1e6 about 17:30 in he revealed his happy place to only the team .. I think with stiles and van pelts connection they seemed to make the most logical sense of the 4 .. I also find it curious the timing of her and Wayne getting back together. Stiles has the brain, Money, And mind influence to be RJ he does run a cult after all ...he knew fry's location , has many cops and local enforcement in visualize and seems to really like Patrick and had the power to break out martin which would take serious law enforcement corruption and pull to pull off ..
