First off, I don't know who Red John is.

But I strongly suspect that there will be a twist. He is probably not someone we currently suspect. Or if he is, there will be a twist of another sort - perhaps a shock revelation about who in CBI is aiding him.

Some other thoughts:
1. Lorelei Martins is still alive. Red John faked her death (twin, plastic surgery, whatever) and the video of her naming the suspects was made AFTER Jane had completed the list.
2. Van Pelt has become involved with Bret Stiles. Recall the scene when he is in custody and begins speaking to her and she actually begins to look interested? My guess is that she got involved with his group and has (maybe) been passing information to him.
3. Bret Stiles is not Red John, but he knows who he is - that is clear from earlier episodes. Red John may have some "dirt" on Stiles or an involvement in the cult.
4. Rigsby and VanPelt are leaving the show this season - apparently there will be a wedding in episide three (maybe them?). Red John may go after them - or one of them anyway.
5. Bob Kirkland is hunting Red John for National Security reasons, or for personal reasons - but not just as "a cop" doing his job. Perhaps, like Jane, Red John killed someone he loved. Or maybe Red John is some sort of risk to someone in government. Kirkland has stolen copies of Jane's files ... but we don't know what he knows.
6. Summer will be killed by Red John - or abducted by him to lead Cho into a trap.
7. JJ LaRoche is not Red John but Red John knows things about him which give him leverage should he need it.

Anyway - that's my tuppence worth ... enjoy the show!

Just some thoughts and questions I have. Firstly why was Brett at the house? What led him there ? The conversation jane and Lisbon have about him also strikes me. The part where talk about him being a good actor and Lisbon says he would have to be. Again I think everything has purpose even little things such as that . But the real question is was that just another red herring is Brett a red herring? None the less I think there is far more to him that will be revealed. Another observation the smiley painted on Lisbon is not a typical rj it resembles more of a clown . The eyes are upward rather than sideways .and the smile is different

I am sure that red john is Brett Partridge,I am sure he faked his death to fool patrick and he will leave lisbon alive to spread that he is so dead it will be too obvious in the next episode if we won't see his dead body and also i believe that Bret Stiles is his father,,,you should notice that bret stiles and brett partridge have the same first name...why does Bruno Heller do that,is it a coincidence??no,,you should also notice that brett partridge with double(T) and bret stiles with single(T)like (queen elizabith II,so there must be queen Elizabith I)...

bret stiles is older than brett partridge by 25 years so that makes sense that he is his father.

The reason why red john(brett)knew about the old memory of Patrick because his father(stiles)saw that and gave him this information...Another surprise you would know that loraeille martinez wasn't killed...Red john always cut his victims throat,,so go back and see loraielli's body there was no blood on her throat only on the blanket that covered her..so to be clear,she fakes her death and went back to red john and after bob krikland went to the room of patrick and got the details that led red john to the list of 7 suspects(which was a plan from patrick to fool red john about his suspect as he knew that someone broke into his room so it was a set up and red john can't break into patrick's he as we all thought)) after that loraeille recorded the tape as i think and sent it to patrick)
Bruno Heller said before that red john is a father and a son so i think (bret and brett is the perfect mix :)


Anothe point that prove that Partridge is red john that we all know about the (tyger,tyger) poem which is a William Blake poem,,William Blake also has a picture of((a brace of partridge)) so know what do you think?? :) :)

I have recently (about 2 months ago) posted a theory which most of you (about 100 if i remember correctly) regarded as plausible. However it somewhat turned out to be nonsense as Brett Partridge is now dead. So after watching 6 x 01, I made up my thoughts entirely new and came up with a few very interessting factors:
1. Lisbon is not dead. (Bruno Heller quot: "Lisbon fans don't have to be worried, even though they are supposed to be"). I am also pretty sure why Red John drew the Smiley on her face.
What I think happened was that Red John made her uncouncious (probably with an injection) and then he drew the Smiley on her face for the following reason: He murdered Brett Partridge without a Smiley at the wall! We know that if you see a RJ victim you must see the Smiley first. Therefore what will happen is that Jane will, when finally entering the room, look for Libson first before bothering to look at Partridge. When finding out that she is uncoucious or even sleeping, he will then look at the dead Body of Partridge. Then he will have seen the Smiley first and the actual vicitm of Red John.
2. With that knowledge now.... WHO ON EARTH COULD BE RED JOHN? I will utilise the same method as before going through factors for every single character on the list: 
1. Brett Stiles: too old, no Chance to have the voice, Stiles is not average size as  Rosalind said (hes waaay smaller)
2. Reede Smith: would be cool as when rearranging the letters of his Name, it could mean: The Red is me. However, Smith is small and fat which does not fit Rosalind's description
3. Sherrif Thomas McAllister: would definetely be interessting, but he is too old and again the voice could not possibly fit. However, I cannot fully disclude him unfortunately
4. Bob Kirkland: Once again: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy too obvious, but definetely a Person working in coorperation with RJ.
5. Gale Bertram: he is very, very tall which Rosalind did not say. On top of that his voice once again cannot possibly fit. However he is my number 2 candidate, just because I  had a bad Feeling about him the first Episode he appeared.

Coming to my main suspect: Ray Haffner
Notice that RJ's fingers are very skinny which can only be the case for Kirkland, McAllistar and Haffner (Smith too fat, Stiles too fat, Bertram not as thin as required).
On top of that he is a member of visualize which we know that Red John definetely is (or was).

He offered Lisbon a new Job in 05 x 13. If he really is Red John, he knew of Jane's recent Feelings for Teresa and wanted to gain her as a allie for the "game" that he is playing with PJ. The fact that he snatched Lisbon fits as well, as Lisbon's Team had always outpaced Haffner's Team.

So in conclusion my ranking is:

1. Ray Haffner
2. Gale Bertram
3. Sherrif Thomas McAllistar
4. Bret Stiles
5. Reede Smith
6. Bob Kirkland


One last thought:
I think that Kristina Frye will become relevant again.
She is the one and ONLY victim that remained alive after being attacked by RJ (He would have killed her simply if she was no allie as she insulted him on tv, she was a woman and she meant a lot to Jane at that time). I am 99% sure that she is a very Close friend and maybe even complice of Red John.

Not a guess about Red John, but some observations:

1.  Why did Cho come in from outside the diner several minutes after Van Pelt , Rigsby, and Jane.  This is very suspicious to me. I would hate for Cho to be involved with Red John, but this really struck me as odd behavior,

2.  That is the first time I've really noticed CBI Ron talking in the show.  Who was he on his cell phone with?

Does anyone else feel like Sophie Miller's head is in that oven? Heller says we will find out how Red John got the happy memory info in the next episode and lo and behold her photo is on the refrigerator next to the note saying "dinner's in the oven". It's already creeping me out just thinking about it, but I can't wait!!
