Ok this may be way out there but think about it.
Patrick Jane is and always has been Red John. When Jane was on TV making Red John look like a fool, a copycat and far superior serial killer arose and punished Patrick for making serial killers look like jokes or what not. Now Patrick (original Red John) is set out to find the smarter, more ruthless copycat Red John and avenge his family.
HE'S ASIAN. THINK ABOUT IT- ONLY A VERY SMART PERSON COUOD BE RED JIHN...
My problem with the 7 (6 is Bruno is telling the truth) is that they all have a creep factor. A good serial killer would just appear to be a normal person, someone you could get along with, but the 7 people PJ has listed have a laundry list of character flaws. I can't see any of them being Red John, because RJ is a master manipulator, to do that, he'd typically have to appear to be normal (like Patrick, who appears to be normal but is anything but). RJ is basically an evil version of PJ, and none of these people listed seem normal.
Partridge = Very creepy, the obsession with gore and serial killers makes him a very "irksome" character
Stiles = Creepy cult leader, probably a mentalist himself, but doesn't come across like a regular human being.
Smith = The most normal of the 7, basically an average fat guy, but there's still something off about him.
Haffner = Seemed normal at first, then got very odd during "The Red Barn." Again, not the prototypical serial killer
McAllister = The creepiest of the lot, so much so that they teased him as the villain during the episode he was in (before it was revealed to be the gay guy from Modern Family).
Kirkland = Very dark, there's something seriously off about him, the fact he killed a man in cold blood shows that he's not the most normal
Bertram = It's almost like he wants PJ to think he's a serial killer, probably isn't, but again, not your average guy.
Basically, there are too many character defects amongst this 7 for any of them to be RJ, that's why i'm sceptical regarding the list, i'm thinking it's a trap PJ has set. Bruno Heller has lied before to protect the story (the fake RJ in season 3 being real at first, according to BH), maybe he's done it again?
If i had to guess a suspect, it would be someone like Rigsby (would be a perfect serial killer, doesn't look the part, unassuming, seems down to earth), but as it looks like Rigsby dies in 6:03 (unless the trailer showed a dream sequence, something this show doesn't do, hence me believing it to be legitimate), it obviously can't be him.
As i believe the list to be a decoy, and the 7 listed just patsies, my 3 most likely are (in no particular order):
Walter Mashburn - has the money, is an equal to PJ, and cares about Lisbon enough not to harm her (RJ seems to prefer to keep her alive)
Jason Cooper - Stiles' number 2, appears far more sane, and made the requisite power play. But what if Stiles is just the puppet, and cooper is running the show?
Oscar Ardiles - Who better to kill indiscriminantly and get away with it than someone who knows the in's and out's of the legal system?
The 3 listed are the most normal non-CBI characters i could think of.
This is an unusual approach, rubbishing everything BH has said to be correct, but he's lied before, and i believe him to be lying now (in our best interests though).
I am not actually accusing anyone, but what do you think Bruno Heller meant by "we'll be disappointed when we know who Red John is"?
Disappointed because it was way to obvious (like Kirkland)?
Disappointed because it was a totally underdeveloped character (like Smith)?
Disappointed because the character was not part of the show from season 1 (like Haffner)?
Or disappointed because it is not the character that the majority of users wants to be (Partridge)?
Van Pelt look too naive especially in season 5 when Stiles played with her mind like she is a toddler.
But maybe all that is a mask and act she is playing,
I don't have any clues or explanations but i believe that Jane is playing some games for a long time and he don't believe in that list. No matter what Bruno Heller said.
And also those clues that we know about RJ about physical look, age, even gender can all be lies.
Also it is clear by know he is not just some serial killer. He created a cult, like I said before he is on some kind of mission in his own mind.
We don't know his motives and we can only guess.
