RJ is Lorelai - Kirkland is an associate of RJ/Lorelai who was able to use his Homeland Security team to break into Jane's office. Easy enough to dress up a body that looks like Lorelai, considering how ornate RJ kills.

In the season promo, at 0:20 sec, there are 3 smileys, so there are 3 bodies: Cho (on the far right), Van Pelt (in the middle) and Rigsby (on the floor, in front of her, but we only see his feet).
There is a person with Lisbon and it is NOT Jane, cuz he never wears a tie and always wears a vest. This man has a tie and no vest.
He looks like Haffner, from the haircut. We then hear Jane scream "LISBON!", as a warning. Propably Haffner pulling out his knife or something...
But the images look washed out, so it could also be a dream sequence.... We'll see!
So there was suppose to be a big clue at the end of 6.01. I just re-watched the episode and noticed the window in the background after Partridge says tiger tiger had a large amount of light coming through, like it was daytime. Tiger tiger burning bright in the forests of the night?
The other part of the poem that is interesting is Did He smile His work to see? Did He who made the lamb make thee? Patrick does smile right before the car passes Lisbon, and she does look at it very strangely as it passes.
Now in the seeing red episode you see them zoom in on Lisbon and the music turns dark but they also zoom in on CBI Ron. I think the fact that Ron was about to make a phone call when he talked to Jane was interesting, but could be thrown in to throw us off. That phone in his hand could have been Lisbon's as the light in the window tells us the timing is off. I feel the wheres waldo character is closer to Ron and that is my guess. It seems to me Jane and Loreli made that video together and that is there to throw Lisbon off for whatever reason.
I think it might be possible that this entire time, Jan has been Red John but doesn't know it. After the trauma of his family being killed (by a killer for a different reason), he developed a multiple personality disorder and created Red John to make sense of it all. In a way it is like the movie fight club. Jane is the master mind behind all of "Red John's" doings and the people who follow Red John. The only reason this may work is to think that Jan has no idea he is also Red John. He can not be in two places at once, but I have no doubt, if he is Red John; he's had people do some of the work for him so he could be Jan while "Red John', is still at work. In one aspect I would hate to see Jane be the bad guy, I love the whole team, but it would make a crazy ending to the series.
Not a theory but a question in season 3 finale strawberrys ande cream after Jane tells Bertram that Hightower wants to meet him straight after Jane leaves the room Bertra picks up the phine and rings someone and we never saw or heard any thing more of the phonecall any one got any ideas who it was to and why??????
i lean towards Haffner by default, but there are other things I'd like to ask about...
season 2e8...after MInelli's press conference, where he breaks protocol and actually speaks honestly, he's talking to Lisbon and someone in a black limo pulls up outside the gates... as Lisbon leaves, Minelli notices, pulls himself together, and starts walking towards the man coming from the car...Kirkland?? Minelli resigns a week later....Hellers interview spoke of much corruption in the California law enforcement.....also, I think Bosco gave Jane a clue as he died, and Lisbon seemed awfully interested in what it was...
when Jane shows Lisbon the disc at the end of season 5, he presses play, and after it's done he destroys it...we never see him put it in the computer...only eject it...who knows what was really on the disc that Jane received...now, we know, because of that the part about the happy memory, that the disc has to be from Red John, but it's odd that Jane didn't want to reveal his list, but then he has no problem showing Lisbon the disc...obviously, Jane knew(or suspected) that someone was watching him, and I believe that the disc plays into his plan of finding the mole in the CBI...
may be nothing, but some of the smiley faces look as if they were drawn with 3 fingers, as Partridge says they are, but some look different, like the one in the blind girls room, as if only drawn with two, like the fingers we see at the end of season 6 ep1...may be nothing, but who knows...
Since the beginning I always believed that BP was RJ, and I'm sure you're all familiar with all of the clues that lead to him.
What we all need to realize, is that The Mentalist is NEVER obvious. When I found that BP was on PJ's list, I started doubting myself. Why would Bruno Heller PLACE the answer in our hands? Why would he take away every element of surprise? Though, when BP was 'killed', my faith in my theory was restored. How else would you surprise the audience? Make the 'dead' guy the killer all along. We won't see him for the rest of the series, and at the last episode we will find that he's RJ.
Let's say I'm wrong. If I do happen to be wrong, (which doesn't happen often), I can assure you that it will NOT be one of the other 6 on the list. There would be no element of surprise, no shock, nothing. If it's not Brett Partidge, it will have to be one of the main characters. That is Lisbon. Rigsby, Van Pelt, or Cho. I think it would be really shocking and thrilling if it was one of the main characters, and it would make for good television. If anyone is Red John out of all of the prinicipal characters, I think it would be Cho.
