LATEST THEORIES

Important things will happen in the next episodes :

EP 3:
Jane gets the CBI involved in a case in Napa in order to focus on Sheriff McAllister , while Van Pelt and Rigsby take a trip down the aisle.

EP 4:
- Jane reveals that a list of fake Red John suspects he planted was stolen and the team realizes these men are in danger.
- Jane discovers the reason why Brett Partridge was murdered by Red John, as well as the importance of the line "Tyger Tyger".
-  Robert Kirkland, and  Reede Smith will be shown in this episode .

EP 6:
This episode revolves around the cult group Visualize, confirmed by twitter pictures of actors. Malcolm McDowell returns as Bret Stiles. We apparently learn much more about Visualize's deeper connection with Red John, and whether Bret Stiles knows who Red John is, or is Red John himself.

The obvious choice i would say is Kirkland.
We know in one episode he sent some guys to break into PJs "thinking room",
PJ noticed that someone had broken in there so I think thats why he's not that spooked about RJ knowing about his list.
Kirkland also killed a person with RJ connections before PJ had a chance to speak with him.
And he was eavesdropping when PJ spoke to Bertram.
All we know is that Bertram and Kirkland got some "fishy" going on.
I would not be surprised if it turned out to be one of them, or both.

My alternative option is...
PJs father! Alex Jane
Whatever happened to him? Did he die? Where did he go?
He is the only one who could know about PJs happy childhood memory.

And one more thing....Why oh why must they make cops so mtf stupid!? Why walk in to that house all alone without backup or making van pelt checking the GPSs during?? Then case would be solved!
Risky move by RJ i would say.
But what have we learned from tv-shows?
That cops are god damn stupid

Brett Partridge is still my guess. The Blood used to paint Lisbons face would be that of the pigeons notice that they were kept in cages also 666, i would say maybe a form of sacrifice perhaps?, also something wierd Red John is Speaking to Jane While He has his knife in hand and its clear his making use of both his hands, which means he either has a helper or is using some kind of handsfree device , if you go back to S01X01 You will see Brett Partridge using a device. what better way to continue your killings then to get rid of yourself as a suspect?
Brett Partridge has always appeared in episodes written by Bruno Heller, and we all know that Bruno Heller Writes the main story lines. His a Ghoul. Bruno Heller did state that the 1st episode of season 6 would contain a big clue the only clues i can think of would be.

- 666 written on the wall
- "TIGER TIGER" (Was clue given before also)
- The Pigeons and cages
- Red John Talking to patrick J While he is busy Painting his classic Rj Smiley Face.
- The Gps Maps

Thats just my thoughts thanks for listening. :)

RJ has to be someone we saw in season 1. This show had no guarantee to run for as long as it did so with that in mind we have BP and McAllister. The second episode was written by Heller and we know he writes every episode tied to RJ so why this episode? Kinda random isn't it. He fits the description and subtle clues point to it being him such as he is mar, O'laughlin taking Grace to Napa Valley, the sheriff car at the end of Crimson Hat, and the appearance of him in general from pictures. I will be surprised if it is anyone else because Heller would have changed RJ Identity somewhere in the middle of the whole show.

The  more I watch, the more I suspect Lorelei.  She seems to be at the center of everything and remember, she is the one who supplied Jane with the list in the first place.  How convenient.  She has an ongoing vendetta--the murder of her sister, and showed up out of the blue in Las Vegas and inserted herself in Jane's life.  Then she shows up in the car with the Red John "dummy" and the poor victim for the shootout in Henderson.  This is all too convenient.

I just stumbled over something PJ says in the following trailer on CBS.com:

http://www.cbs.com/shows/the_mentalist/red-john/

At about 02:00 he says "I recall all the names of the people that I've met since RJ murdered my family". This means RJ cannot be someone of his early carnival days and neither someone he met during his psychic phase, which obviously ended with the murderer of his wife and daughter.

This rules out quite a few theories about PJ having a (step) brother who decided to turn against him etc., doesn't it?
