Do you guys remember the toothpick Jane put in his door when he was working on the Red John list?  When he saw that the door had been opened, he smiled,  like he does when one of his plans are going the right way.

If Kirkland works for RJ or if RJ got his hands on the information "the old fashioned way" I don't know.
But RJ is smart, so he could easily deduce what suspects Jane would end up with from the information he had gathered.
I think that Jane laid out the "evidence" to throw RJ off.
In the new episode they said that RJ is getting desperate because Jane is getting close,  but I think that he is somewhat offended that he didn't make the list or showing off how far away Jane really is and is therefor stepping up his game.

I do believe that Jane has someone entirely different in mind and I couldn't dare speculate who.

I have thought it was Bertram for awhile, but I am actually posting a question.  A season or two back when Red John kidnapped Patrick Jane and Jane was strapped to a chair at the end of the show (may have been the end of the season, I cannot remember) Red John said something to Jane about knowing who he was and Jane said yes.  Am I remembering this right?

I think Grace might be the mole in the CBI now, and that she's working for or been brainwashed by Red John.

I'm not sure why, but it probably started after O'Laughlin died.

She seems like the perfect Red John flunkie, easily manipulated, weak willed.

Just seen Black-Winged Redbird, we know from Dr Miller's notes that RJ is middle aged, which rules out Bret Stiles and Sheriff Tom McAllister, both are too old.

Reede Smith and Bob Kirkland are too young, which leaves Ray Haffner and Gale Bertram.

If we then factor in the physical description of RJ (medium build, short hair), that leaves Ray Haffner.

We know Haffner is 46, thus middle aged, we know he was 21 when he was at the Elliston farm, we know his visualize links, and we know he likes Lisbon enough not to kill her, RJ spared Lisbon for some reason.

I was finally able to get back on my moms pc after watching the latest episode.

We now know that red john did infact visit sophie miller, infact it seems he left jane some leftover dinner in the oven as well. (Quite nice of him if you ask me)

If you remember couple seasons back, we found out that sophie was janes psychiatrist after his breakdown following the murder of his wife and daughter.
As most people theorised she was the link with how red john was able to kill a happy memory of janes.

We also learnt a couple more details about red john though as usual they are rather vague and broad.

He has a fear of Acrophobia or some other type of unknown phobia.
He is middle age.
He has no living family but many friends he relies on.
He is a a excellent whistler.
He is a damage and narcissistic individual.
He doesnt deal with conflict and adversity easily.
He speaks rather convincly when lying outright.

We were given glimpses of other red john suspects while the details of red shown were being told, implying that each of these individuals had atleast something in common with red john.

Its a good chance that in future episodes we will have more people whistling, on this episode alone we had reede smith, ray haffner and tom mcallister whistling.
Sadly though patridge didnt get a chance to belt out a tune as he was in a body bag.

As facts seem to point:
- Red John is most likely a man
- Red John should be older than 30 years

the last would left out Kirkland and Partridge, but
Patrick has a list of 7 suspects, seven as the number of letters in "Red John":
what if John is not a person?

Could be that all seven suspects are Red John, being that just a fake character used by all of them,
That would explain why it has been impossible to find any coherent clue on all John's murders, Partridge and Kirkland may just be the latest members of the "club".
