Most of these people are easy to track. It should be easy to
determine which of them could have been available to be at the scene
with Partridge. Also, it should be relatively easy (even after 5 months)
to determine which of them might have been free to visit Sophie or take out Patrick's happy memory etc. I am sure that Patrick used much of this public knowledge to narrow the list to the seven suspects.

This type of acalysis gets complicated if RJ is really just the leader of a consortium.
Which I think is probably the best guess. It explains why the finger
points in so many directions. In fact Brett might have been part of that
consortium. RJ took him out of the consortium because he was afraid of Brett Partridge (a bird). (RJ is afraid of birds).

I've got to go with Bertram as the leader, the true RJ (or at least a member of the consosrtium), because he basically says so to Jane. “When you get Red John in your sights I’ll be there”

sorry but last nights episode was ridiculous.....NO WAY Patrick wouldn't have been in that house examining every nook and cranny like he does after any RJ killing.  He would have wanted to look at Partridges body, where he was found, where Lisbon was found, etc. etc. for ANY clues.....like he ALWAYS does.  partridges death was totally glossed over.....no look at body whatsoever.  No investigation into whose house that was, etc.  

In “Black winged Redbird” Bertram say an interesting line – “When
you get Red John in your sights I’ll be there”. If this is true then
Bertram must be Red John. He didn't say "Ill have your back". or "I want to be there". No, he very plainly said "I'll be there." The only way he can know this is if he is RJ.

this is just something I noticed: When Kirkland was speaking on the phone, he was talking to a guy named Tom. Yeah, Tom. I believe he was talking to McAllister.
Kirkland was the one giving orders to Tom. Check out the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPblDPqw7eQ at 00:00:59, when Lisbon enters her office. I remember Kirkland speaking to Tom in another episode, but I couldnt find that one. 
It seemed like Kirkland was using Bertram like some sort of puppet, when he was talking to him after Lisbon left Bertram's office. Kirkalnd seems like the puppet master behind Bertram and McAllister (propably also behind Smith, who's clearly involved with Bertram and McAllister).

That doesn't have to mean Kirkland is Red John. But it would definitely rule out Bertram, McAllister and Smith. That would only leave Kirkland, Haffner and Stiles (considering Partridge's death).

I would love to hear your opinion about that and maybe you can find the other scence with Kirkland on the phone :-)
