Red John kill everyone that can identify him like Sophie,Rebecca and more.right?
so why Bret Stiles isn't dead already?he know Red John and all his little plan since season 2-3 but he is alive.I don't accuse him for being Red John but i'm sure he have very solid connection with RJ.
Everyone gonna say,oh he is Visualize boss that's why! I agree but think about it,maybe father-son relationship or any kind of family relationship.Jane and Bret Stiles episode is something I really can't wait to see in incomming episode!

i was REALLY keen on haffner being RJ, but now there is one thing that puzzles me (and maybe i'm overanalzying). rosalind harker said that red john was NOT muscular, and at the end of 06x02, we see haffner lifting weights and obviously looking wayyy buff. besides that, i really like haffner (or kirkland) as RJ, but the lifting weights thing threw me off. thoughts?

If it is true that RJ is one of those listed , that means there are 6 innocents . The first to die Partridge . Poor guy , maybe RJ is guilty but Patrick was the one who put him in the list , so Patrick is somehow responsible for his death , and the following .

We have 5 innocents+ RJ , but it is clear that Kirkland is a murderer and, if he is not RJ , then is his accomplice ( who does the dirty work ) would be an insult to say that Bob Kirkland is Red John ( too obvious). So we have 4 innocents and RJ ; Bertram , Thomas McAllister , Bret Stlies , Ray Haffner and Reede Smith .
Now they want us to believe that Ray Haffner is RJ because  the psychiatrist said that he knows whistle very well ( remember that whistles when visit Lisbon in the hospital) , looks good .. etc and maybe it is, but I'm more romantic and I like to give importance to trivialities such as names. Returning to William Blake poem that repeats Partridge in the last chapter .... This poem speaks of an almost divine being that is able to create the beautiful and the terrible, the good and the bad ( the lamb or tiger ) described this being as an artist who uses an anvil , a hammer an oven .. . ie a blacksmith . Reede Smith ( "the red is me" and says the other theory ) .Tagliaferro could be translated in english into Smith
Also whistles in the last chapter when Bertram 's office along

But the most important thing it is that we dont have too many information about him.

Thanks for reading and sorry about my english ( im from Spain)   :)

Regarding the aftermath, something big must happen if CBI crumbles. From what i've seen on the Mentalist Wikia page (which is normally pretty good for future plot points), the 2 new characters being introduced are FBI agents, which to me suggests that Jane, Lisbon and Cho must join the FBI, and the CBI completely folds in on itself. For that to happen though, something major must happen, and the only thing that could cause that is Red John. Either Gale Bertram is RJ, or he, Van Pelt, Rigsby AND Ron are accomplices, that would equal corruption on every level, and would be the only serious enough problem.

Problem is, i don't see Bertram as RJ. I've always seen him as a red herring, with Haffner being my pick. Bertram has shown he doesn't care about Lisbon, he was willing to fire her in Season 4, whereas RJ has refused to kill her for some reason. Plus we know that RJ is a damaged narcissist, Narcissists have feelings, so it can't be Kirkland or Bertram, as they have major sociopathic tendencies. Smith is too fat, The sheriff and Stiles are too old, leaving us with 1 man, a man who has shown to have emotions, has been on the recieving end of PJ and not handled it well.

And i posted a theory earlier asking what RJ was up to in the 10 year gap, having done some thinking, i surmise that he was either:

A) In Prison
B) Busy with Visualize
C) In the military
D) Training to be an FBI agent.

Still doesn't explain what changed his personality so much though. The first murders were definitely out of spite over working conditions, otherwise he would have massacred the whole farm. Maybe he cracked under the pressure of being an FBI agent?

Ok this may look strange... but i noticed 2 things in the end of S6 E2 :

1) RJ is talking to patrick on the phone saying  :

"Can I take a message? ..... .... No ?"
When he says the word "NO" on the phone, HIS BOTH HANDS ARE ON THE KNIFE ....... meaning the actual killer isn't the one talking on the phone...

2) then who's talking on the phone at this very moment ? I just noticed that Ron was going to make a call... and his voice sounds a little like RJ's .... and why would Heller put this "useless" character at such a decisive moment ?

What do you think ?

Having just watched Episode 2 from the latest season, a few things are beginning to Irk me.

1. 7 suspects = red john, seven letters - this could be the seven disciples of the red john cult sister cult to visualize started in Elliston in the 80's where jane first met the leader of the red john cult and shook his hand (maybe).

2. In an episode where Mashburn meets Jane outside his helicopter business in an earlier Season, (Interesting emblem above the helicopter) Mashburn got out of the car and his hand gesture looks like he was going in for a handshake but we don't actually see a handshake take place. They tell Jane that Mashburn was threatened by a computerized voice and When Red John speaks to Jane is uses a synthesized version of jeans voice that is pitch changed so it sounds higher but it is definitely Simon Bakers voice. Again hinting at

Tiger Tiger = The other side of me. Dark/Light ? one a lamb and the other a tiger

5. There were helicopters on the wall in the background when Patrick Jane visited the offices where they made the drones.

6. LIsborn has made references to things that by rights she hasn't been told by Jane - so rather than poker, maybe she is a part of the problem not the solution and she is there to mark his progress and feedback information to use against him. The phone tap was a bit of a farce how could jane NOT know she was going to go behind his back, he set that up as bait but it was already pre-planned, Lisborn had to find a way NOT to keep the secret otherwise the plan to kill off some of the list and make her a victim would not work

7. Carmen Lee mentioned by the nurse when Jane is in the hospital room provokes Jane to call Sophia. Who is Carmen Lee and what has he said about her to Sophia, what is the connection between Red John, Carmen Lee and Patrick Jane?

8. Jane obsessively drinks tea, a very British thing to do, but Jane isn't British. Red John speaks well and is very charming....interesting.

9. I still think the blood on the wall left by an early victim was "He is Mad"

so - a few ideas

1. Patrick Jane killed his wife and daughter in a physoctic break and he is subconsciously fighting against the demons in his head by searching to the deepest part of his mind to unearth the root cause - labelled Red John. He is a split personality and his better side attempts to solve the case and free himself of the british villian red john which is his alternate, that's why he hears his own voice because it is him setting himself up

2 He met the cult leader in elliston in the 80s was invited to join and declined and now as he has called him out red john cult is insulted and the leader is set out to break him once and for all but his initiation will only be complete once he discovers the really reason why his wife and child were murdered - because he was married to red johns sister

3. Mashburn or Ellis Marrs and his merry band of Illuminati and Lisbon is his wife

4. Jane is in a coma and when he wakes up all the characters are doctors and nurses in the hospital - a bit like Momento, searching for John G. He was searching for his
wifes killer thinking he was an insurance investigator when the whole
time he was Leonard Shelby a victim of a house burglary that left him
with brain damage. His wife did not die in the burglary but because he couldn't make new memories she deliberately let him overdose her with
insulin.)

5. It's Grace.

I never posted anything before but if we can trust Bruno Heller then RJ is definetly one of these 6 characters.I think RJ is Bob Kirkland and the other members of the list are mostly his disciples. If you take a closer  look to each of these characters they have major character flaws.
Ray probably is the one who killed those farmers with Bob.Bob stays there to clean the murder sight.
Bret Stiles is the leader of the cult so he probably supported RJ to use him for his purposes, all visualize says is "be the best you can be" so Bob Kirkland was probably was inspired by Bret ofcourse whether Bret knows this or not is a different story.Brett Partridge is the cleaning vrew for the killings he also is a disciple of RJ.After RJ related or RJ disciple related murders he goes first he changes data and he erases the evidince.
Gale Bertram if I remember clearly once says "once you find th right lever you can do anything" and he had some trials about bribery or something like that he might not be a RJ accomplice but he looks like a greeedy man and he certainly is corrupt.
Thomas McAllister might be the one who raped Lorellia's sister. He certainly was interested with Van Pelt and he might be the one giving Frankie O'Keefe the freedom they needed. His attitude was quite pervertish in "Red Hair and Silver Tape" episode.
Reede Smith looks like a man who enjoys brutalizing people for example the guy he beat up in last episode(Black winged redbird) he was seen when they listened what Sophie miller said.
Bob Kirkland however is a man with very deep connections, he has visualize, FBI, CBI, and his disciples. How Bob found these disciples isn't that much of a mystery to me.The ones from visualize were probably sent by Bret Stiles, FBI and CBI connections were probably happened over time when Bob found something about their past or when Bob helped them cover something up.But these connections run deep. These disciples are not necessaryly active on his murders but they clealrly help him to cover it up.They gave him information about investigations, they manipulate proofs in RJs favor. If you remember it also they give RJ some good information about Jane and his friends for example "roll tide" or how Jane started to like Christina Frye etc. They twist Janes mind for example Gale Bertram was the first one to mention William Blake and he spesificly wanted to meet Hightower he was so furious about that stunt. Also when Timothy died Bertram did everything he could to push Jane and his co. out of the picture but when Jane outsmarted him RJ(bob) got interested and wanted to play the game a little longer then he planned.
I think Bob and Jane fist shook hands before a sort time of Jnaes family died.Jane has no good memory about that time span.Bob likes Jane and not just likes Jane makes him feel important because as Jane said he is a showman he wants to get attention and Jane is the one person who always (even before he murdered Janes family) payed him attention. So Bob(RJ) loves really loves Jane he sends his lover to him to feel some connection (maybe he even desires Jane sexually but a homofobic nature so he sends Lorellia). He also wants to be like Jane he tries to imitade him.He doesn't wanna get caught but rahter he wants Jane to join him that way the show never ends.Janes deep bonds with his family and friends makes him angry but also he doesn't want to upset Jane more(I mean he is trying to convert him and killing his friends won't be a good sign of good will).RJ watchs every step Jane makes. For example the limo scene where he makes someone inform CBI about his mental situation. He in a twisted way wants to also punish people that really pisses Jane off.
