LATEST THEORIES

Well, I think there's a few things that are for certain.  Obviously the William Blake theme is consistent throughout the show and the referencing can't just be a decoy.

A couple of facts:
1. We know that in the 7th episode of this season, we find out who red john is.
2. There are 7 suspects
3. The 7th episode is called "The Great Red Dragon"
4. "The Great Red Dragon" has 7 heads

A couple of thoughts:
1. Bruno Heller, with his love of theme and poetry & Blake, has purposely created the above situation.
2. Look up "The Great Red Dragon" on Wikipedia. The quote is right there for you all...

“And behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth.

For me, and as a lot of other people have theorised, Red John is a 7-head collective of all of these men. I'm certain we'll find out specifics, but they're all involved and relevant. And all of them perform the different duties of Red John, and pose as him throughout the entire show. There may still be a 'master' Red John; but "the list is real" and all seven of them are a part of it.

All you people looking so ridiculously deep for tiny little fragments of coincidences are over-thinking it. I truly believe that Bruno Heller has left the series open for different endings and ideas. None of the hints are specific. He is Mar, thinking about the above was probably incomplete for "he is many".

Keep it simple.

I think that Patrick Jane has already figured out who Red John is, but he does not want to let Lisbon and the team in on what he knows. He wants to set the trap for Red John in his own way, and he has been doing that by acting scared and pompous at times to make Red John think he is off of his game. In almost every episode the team does not know what is going on until Jane solves the crime, so why would Red John be any different?

Also, I think it's obvious that Jane knew that as soon as he told Lisbon about the suspects that she would tell the team. They have worked too long together for him not to know that. Therefore, he is just controlling the information they have, while also making them think they are on the same level as him. The reason he is doing this is because he knows Lisbon would not allow him to seek his revenge, and also because Red John has eyes and ears within the CBI. As the second episode of season six proved, Red John cannot read Jane's mind, and the only way Patrick Jane can keep his plan secret from Red John, is by only allowing it to stay within the confines of his mind.

Also, I believe Red John will end up being Bob Kirkland. Bob has done some very obvious things that would put us off his trail like killing Jason Lennon in the hospital, and having Homeland agents steal Patrick's board. On stealing the board, the reason I think it is Bob is because he is the one examining it and trying to figure it out, and I cannot see him passing that task off to one of his minions. He wanted to go head to head with Jane, and come out as victor. Also, I think it is very telling that Kirkland asked Lennon if he recognized him, and he said no; I think we are deliberately being put off Bob's trail by the writers of the show. We know Red John has great mind control over his disciples, and Lennon saying no can be easily explained. Also, the fact that Bob kills Lennon himself is another way the writers are trying to divert our attention from him, because Red John's friends are usually the ones that clean up these messes, so we think Bob must be a friend and not the real deal. However, in this situation it had to be Red John himself, because he was able to kill Lennon and never be suspected by authorities, but clearly Jane is suspicious.

Additionally, Red John is highly intelligent and is able to manipulate people into following him. Bob appears to have great control over Gale Bertram and other people that are high up in the CBI and FBI. He also keeps a relative distance from Jane and keeps a meek disposition when Jane is around, which is another "red" flag, no pun intended. He knows that he cannot let Jane get too close because Jane would see him for what he really is. This is one reason I believe it could not be Ray Haffner, because Haffner has been popping up and asking strange questions and not acting like a man that has Red John's stature. I think Haffner believes if he catches Red John before Jane, then Lisbon will want to be with him.

Also, Bob appears to be very gentle as Rosalind Harker describes, and he appears to be intrigued with Lisbon. Ray Haffner strikes me more as a bull in a china shop type, and is inflated by his own ego. I think for Red John to be able to possess so much influence and mind control he would have to be more like Bob, because maybe the people do not even realize what has happened to them until it is done.

The last thing that puts him in my sights is that Bob has not shown up in any of the episodes thus far. I realize that Bret Stiles has not either, but it was odd that Bob would not have been in that meeting with Bertram, McAllister and Smith. Or was he in the back room like before, listening as Jane barges in pompously declaring that Red John made a mistake?

Also, I want to see J.J. LaRoche come back and help Jane set the trap for Red John. Also, I want to know if Lorelei still alive and if she will play some role in helping Jane? Anyways, I am just some food for thought. What do you think?

Hi Mentalists,

I have some questions, please help me with your answers.

Question 1)
When Partridge and RJ were in an abanadoned warehouse.....assuming that RJ called the cops using Partridge's cell phone, why did it get directed to lisbon? and not some other police patrol car in the area?) This only means that RJ knew lisbon was alone in her office and she would head for the warehouse......

Question 2)
How come Lorelei had the list 2 months before RJ's office was raided by kirkland ?(assuming that the list was stolen during the raid).....and why is there no emphasis put on this point by CBI or Jane?

Question 3)
RJ went to see sophie miller and they both duscussed Jane's past  and his happy memories? Doesn't that seem a bit off for a professional like Sophie to discuss someone elses's life? and nowhere does she hint about this in her recording......

Question 4)
why doesn't jane ask rosalind harker to talk to the remaining 6 suspects to put an end to this drama? Jane would be the first person to do so......so this only means one thing.....that the list was deliberately planted by Jane to throw RJ off the track.....because as I see it, Jane is making no effort to get closer to the suspects on the list, instead he is tracking down people like sophie miller and such......

Question 5)
why did kirkland kill lennon in the hospital? what was his motive?

Brett partridge is Red John, each one of the 7 suspects all have clues pointing to why they could be red john, i think the death of "Brett Partridge" is just to make us take our eyes of the prize, i think out of the 7 there are more clues pointing to him then any of the other 6 suspects. also the Pigeons seem to be some sort of clue as somebody mentioned, both In episode 1 and 2 of season 6 also a partridge is a bird. perhaps thats the clue?. just my thoughts my money is on partridge if not the only other person i could see being red john would be ray heffner. ps leave your comment on my site if you want to discuss theorys on fastwap.net look foward to episode 3

RJ is not Jane! How can he talk to himself on the phone and save his own life when he is tied on a chair?

Some people say that Mcallister should be RJ because he's only seen in one episode of the first season. No! All suspects are in the list because all other ( male )  people who shook hands with Jane were out ( age, place, etc. does not match with one or more RJ events ).

I think the key is Partridge's death.. Why did RJ kill him?  Why did Partridge say "Tyger, tyger " ? Why did RJ want Lisbon in that scene?

In the last episode Ron tell Jane that Rigsby is on the phone. So why would Jane sent Rigsby to look for the notes when there wasn't any.
I think phones in CBI are bugged and Jane knows that, so he is giving RJ wrong leads.
An also Ron is RJ or his informer.
Jane is giving a  lot of red herrings now and RJ still thinks he is one step ahead.
