I have a stupid hunch saying it is one of Jane's teammates who is Red John especially after Lisbon survived in S06E01. Why would Red John let her live if he didnt know/like her personally? So based on that, I say it is Cho :)

Definately when Heller asked about partridge's death, he had to say Yes he died. He can't say no he just faked it...
Similarly when partridge's character asked about giving voice to redjohn, he can't say Yes...
That does not mean partridge has to be red john..I just want to tell that we can not totally remove partridge from our consideration...

Would Jane include him in the list if he wasnt't in some way or another. Almost Everybody automatically just ignores him when talking RJ.... And thats exactly what bruno heller wants! It will interesting to learn more about him throughout the new episodes coming up!!
Personally I think Heller is going to take each episode (leading up to 06X08 when RJ is revealed) and make each suspect look really shady. Last week it was Haffner. This week it's McAllister (from the promo video). There will then be four episodes until the reveal of RJ, with four suspects left (Stiles, Bertram, Kirkland and Smith). I don't know, they're all suspicious in their own ways. I think Kirkland and Haffner are the only viable options, but I'm fairly certain that all the suspects are connected to the case in one way or another.
Just a thought....but it would be very entertaining if we were to learn that Bob Kirkland was somebody that we knew previously in the show....It would explain why he killed Jason Lennon and asked if he recognized him...it would also explain why Lennon said no...because Kirkland Is Red John and he's changed his identity...........I don't know it's more of a thought, not that I'm convinced this is the case.
In Red All Over, when Patrick introduces Lisbon to the little girl, he says "Theresa" the same way Red John says it at the end of S6E1. A previous poster had asked about this, but I can't find the post now.
RJ's PHOBIA
I agree with Theory #5302 about RJ's phobia possibly being a fear of pigeons, BUT even so, the birds seemed in the house while Partridge was killed, so it's not clear --- though Libson had called for back up long before she entered the house and perhaps it had finally arrived. I suspect though that RJ enjoyed spooking her with the "blood on your hands" [in this case, face] symbolism as he clearly made a statement that Libson's interference caused him to kill Partridge, as if SHE had killed him or MADE RJ have to kill him.
THE "LIST"
This list of seven, now six -- it is not the only list PJ has made. In "Black Cherry," Jane had a different list of 10 suspects in his book. So when Heller says the name is definitely on the list, he could be talking about that one, too.
PJ would NEVER want RJ to know he's on to him.
