Hi Guys , I've seen a lot of theories thanks for all participants; Here is my simple theory ,i hope that it will do make sense and a logical one.

After Brett partridge's death , 6 remaining suspects : Gale Bertram , Bret Stiles , Ray Haffner , Robert Kirkland , Reed smith and sherif thomas mccalister.
" Red John is a middle-aged man" => So we can eliminate Bret Stiles.
"After the discussion between Bertram , smith and mccalister when Reed smith said to Bertram that it's his Job to know how jane is close with little angry and authoritarian Voice" => so we can remove Bertram ,Reed smith and even sheriff mccalister from the list.
  In fact : Reed smith maybe is a friend inside the FBI really close to Red John and he is afraid to not keeping very well under control Jane and his team.
 So now Raymond Haffner and Robert Kirkland are remaining in the list of top suspects.

Robert Kirkland: 
    --appeared in fact since Jane began to work with the CBI - A scene he was in the Limo with alexa     schultz and tried to cooperate with minelli between the CBI and FBI and seems Kirkland has in         fact much influence on FBI Director
    --appered with Gale Bertram and seems has also much influence on Bertram.
    --Homeland security when doing housebreaking into Jane's room , and get all information about         red john, Kirkland had tools on his Computer maybe a software that helps him to downsize the list     to 7 names , i think it's the plausible idea to tell jane the seven names i don't think Red John is a       Psychic.
    --I think when he told Lennon "do you recognize me" i think lennon try to escape from death to         pretend not knowing him , but Kirkland is Clever he insists on him that's why.
    He says 'Patrick' and not "Jane" like Red John says.
    He has a mysterious side,

Raymond Haffner:
 --He was a member of visualize maybe he still member , and maybe for sure he was in the firm in   "1988".
  --He says "Teresa" and not "Lisbon" like Red John says.
   --He got played by Jane , but i think if he is really Red John it's just manoeuvre from him, to try to      hide from Teresa and her team.
   --He is a good "whistler" and he has a mysterious side of him in his behavioral with "Teresa".

    I think, Red John is one of the two , maybe in the Episode 04 "Red listed" ,when we will see Robert Kirkland we will find out new clues that make Robert Kirkland also much suspicious.
   

    
 

i was hoping you guys can answer me a question. This is my favourite show but there is one thing i dont understand about the season 3 finale.So i get it how they figured it out that craig o laughlin was the guy who was connected to red john.But i dont get it why was thimoty carter at the mall at the same time as jane and bertram.

Bruno Heller says we can trust the list. Let's shorten the list.

Stiles says he's more powerful than Rj.
Bertram, Sheriff Mcallister and Reede Smith are involved in the new plot after Rj is revealed.
Bob Kirkland fell for Jane's trick and has his own list of 7 including people like Haibach, Hightower who return in episode 4. He isn't very happy but he isn't Rj either.


Its either Haffner or Brett Partridge, but consider they've been building this up for 6 seasons.

Once we know who it is, will the *majority of viewers* who DON'T DIG DEEP, rewatch an episode featuring Rj and think "Ah." I hope so.

Bruno Heller says Rj has been in the show since the beginning. Brett Partridge's first line in season 1 episode 1 of the series is "Redjohn enters here." The shadow when Rj escapes the property in season 1 finale looks more like Partridge than Haffner. Also there is more dramatic irony in Partridge's scenes IF you rewatch once he turns out to be Redjohn than if you watched Haffner. Of course, Partridge is sticking to his role, not showing his other side. But in his season 2 scene with Patrick, Patrick talks, leaves and comes back suddenly, scaring the hell out of Partridge. Partridge returns the favour in the season 2 finale, getting even.

Partridge season 6: "I've been at Redjohn's murder scenes since I began..."

Photographer: "I've always wanted to work with one of the famous serial killers...

Partridge: "*Inaudible word* (aye or nah?) .......

Season 6 Episode 2 focuses around the Happy Memory

Dr Roy Carmen, is the CBI psychiatrist in season 2 episode 2 who insists Lisbon is affected by being held at gunpoint in the season 1 finale (before Jane shoots the guy). We know Lisbon's happy memory is her mother feeding pigeons, which she reveals in the season 5 finale. She could have told him this. If Carmen was a friend of Rj, he could pass this info to him or at least have it available. 

Maybe the Doctor asking for Carmen Lee also subconsciously triggers Lisbon to ask about how Rj knew Jane's happy memory, prompting Jane to look for Sophie Miller.  After Redjohn kills Partridge in season 6 episode 1, we see a strange woman feeding pigeons in season 6 episode 2.

- Red hair

Redjohn killed his alternative alias in a tactical move. So, yes Brett Partridge is dead, Bruno Heller isn't a liar.

How did Partridge escape alive?

Maybe his accomplice was Haffner, an expert in surveillance. Maybe they met in Elliston farm a long time back, and in season 6 episode 2 they carried out crazy rituals on the pigeons, just like the good old times. Lisbon saw him in her dream last.

for the sherrif i didnt find any photo for his hand but from s6xe2 when he was with bertram and smith he's hands are like red john's
anyway i will put him in the list of suspects
bertram he is officialy NOT red john
because ha have a hand more like bret stile's hand
now we have 3 suspects left
sherrif , bob kirkland and ray haffner
we all saw that red john when he drinked tea .. he hold the cup with his left hand
so thats make the sherrif out of the list because he usued his right hand to hold his hat when he was with bertram and agent smih
so now we have just two suspects
Bob Kirkland and Ray Haffner
kirkland when he killed jason in the hospital he usued his right hand
so nope red john is not kikrkland
wich means we have now just ray haffner
and ray haffner is red john
why ?

ok . not a theory but please... please.. stop it with the "both hands are on the knife so it means that the one painting the face is not the one on the phone with jane"

firstly, there's such thing called bluetooth ( & it's actually weird if redjohn is using one )
secondly, there's such thing called speaker function on phones.
thirdly, there's such thing called video sequence editing. meaning that redjohn could have spoken to patrick before or after the face painting.
fourthly, it's a little risky for CBI RON to call patrick when he's walking along the halls of cbi or in an interrogation room or something just 3 seconds after bumping into patrick in the hallway. 

fifth, just because heller says there's a clue at the end of the episode, doesn't mean its just one clue. he's doing the same thing as the "yes this list of 7 is legit" . But now at the second episode, we all know it might not be and heller is just playing his mind games. So his 'CLUE' could be anything: the pigeons, lisbon being pulled from her legs, 666, CBI ron, the wrong smiley face, the two hands. He's given so many possible clues so that we don't know which one it is.
