I don't see any way that RJ is a group of people (like the whole list). RJ is a serial killer that kills people for, among other reasons, talking bad about him on TV. IMO the only way a group RJ works is if everybody they kill is for political reasons or to protect the group but we already know that isn't the case because what would be the purpose of killing PJ's family, the reporter, etc. RJ has subordinates, disciples and friends but IMO the man himself has to be a person not a group.
If this guy is RJ i would feel cheated, all the clues from all other seasons don't in any way imply that he could possibly be RJ.
In the season 2 finale RJ is shown as an average built man, not an overweight man !
Dr Miller says that RJ is in good health, Smith is in no way in good health!
And many others !
I am accusing Partridge, but not for being Red John. If you can fathom that, please read on.
Red John is an individual, not a team or group. However, we know that he has disciples, helpers, sympathizers, and he uses assets to do some of his work and killings. We also know that some people are very willing and happy to die for Red John. No one revealed to know who Red John is has survived with the exception of Rosalind Harker.
This can explain a lot about some of the people on the list, but most especially the fate of the late Brett Partridge. The Tyger Tyger utterance most likely indicates that he knew Red John, and perhaps did some of the killings for him. He could be a very close asset who got to play the role of Red John and even at one point went under the alias of Roy Tagliaferro. Let's call that a pseudo-RJ, and there have been other Pesudo-RJs, such as Timothy Carter.
And this could explain why Partridge had to die first. He was a disposable asset, like Timothy Carter.
If this fits together, and we might find out whether it does in the upcoming episode, then I believe I have a pretty good idea of who Red John might be. But I'll withhold the rest of my theory, until this much at least is confirmed.
To those who suspect CBI Ron: Ask yourself, where was Ron when Red John painted his smiling face on Lisbon's face?!
This is my theory:
I think that RJ isn't someone from the list.
I mean,we are all thinking that RJ is someone from list and Bruno knows that if he puts someone from the list,half of people will be disapointed with that choise.I think that after all this seasons that we watched,Bruno doesn't wants to disapoint any of us.I think that he will choose a safer possiblity.I think that he will choose someone from CBI or someone that we would never suspect(My first suspect is CBI Ron,but maybe I'm wrong),and everyone will be suprised with that choise(No one will be disapointed).
But maybe I am wrong.Bruno knows the best ending of this series and i think that in the end it will be a big suprise who RJ is.

I personally think Red John is Haffner for a few reasons:
1. He is a creepy ass guy
2. When Lisbon asks him about the farm, he hesitates to answer (because it is already made aware that Haffner is a member of Visualized, and the way he says that he was a bad kid implies something).
3. Red John probably likes Lisbon, so he wouldn't kill her off right away (hence the smile on the face and an unconscious Lisbon). This also points out to the Hospital scene where Haffner comes a little too close.
If I'm wrong so be it, but trying to figure out a legitimate theory is really hard as there is a lot of info flowing through the show (People afraid of heights vs pigeons).
