OK, following on from my successful Crocodile Dundee theory, i have some new ideas. Clearly, RJ is good with women (able to manipulate them), so he must be a good physical specimen.
He's obviously charismatic, manly and talented at whatever he wishes to do.
So by my reckoning, RJ is Macho Man Randy Savage.
I think RJ himself wrote that "He is Mar" writing on the wall. Because when you're dying you dont waste time or energy to write "He is". You just write the name. Just like Lorelei's sister Miranda. She didn't write "He is Roy", she just wrote "Roy".
The question is, why? I believe that wasn't written for Jane. He wrote it for someone else, to send some kind of message. Because if it was for Jane, it would lead him to a trap but nothing happened.

Patrick Jane visits Timothy Carter's home. They go to the back door, and just before meeting Charlene Carter, the camera shows some guests in the living room - a memorial to Timothy Carter is about to start - behind the glass of the door.
The man facing the camera on the left side... isn't he Sean Barlow?
I cannot watch the series in HD, but I would say he is. Could anyone confirm this with HD image?
Lisbon is actually in league with red john that is why the nurse asked for a different name when she was in the hospital bed because she also has a different past and that's how red john new the names on the list and Bret partridge isn't really dead!
Haffner is my #2 suspect. Now this is not a theory, but an observation. Maybe some of you can share your insights on this.
Lisbon dos not share important pieces of information with Jane (whereas she gets angry when Jane does not share information with her) or at least there are are some things she has not shared with Jane on camera. There are two things she has not shared with Jane (I may be wrong about the first one, so correct me if I am wrong).
1) She has not told Jane that Haffner is a member of Visualize
2) She did not think it was important to tell Jane that Haffner visited her in the hospital
We could assume that she did share this info with Jane, but not on the show. That actually seems more plausible than suggesting that she does not think it is important to tell him these things about a man who is on his list or that she is hiding information.

My theory is an unpopular one, but don't just hit the red thumb.
I am certain that Red John is Marlon Dingle from Emmerdale.
Now, I know that this seems unlikely because Emmerdale and The Mentalist are different TV shows, but a collaboration is not out of the question. I also believe a few of you will have come up with this theory too, so please, let's share our ideas.
There are a few things that make me certain of this:
1. The voice;
We know that Red John has a high pitched voice, and I think you will agree that in this clip Marlon Dingle's voice is also rather high pitched, when he wants it to be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwbXArwp19Y
2. Law enforcement connections;
In the video clip above, we see Marlon is a member of the local law enforcement. We know Red John has influence over the CBI and other local law enforcement agencies. It would make sense if Marlon gained this influence by working his way up the ladder of the FBI or Homeland Security - making friends on the inside.
3. Appearance;
From this picture, and the video above, you can see that Marlon matches Rosalind Harker's description exactly. He would make the perfect Red John. This CLEARLY implies that the man Red John killed was trying to write "He is Marlon". This almost proves Marlon Dingle is infact Red John by itself.
5. "Gonna Red Mill";
Marlon Dingle is an anagram of "Gonna Red Mill", i.e. Marlon is going to paint the mill red. The mill actually refers to the barn where Red John ( or should I call him Red Marlon! ) painted his smiley face!
6. "Tyger Tyger";
As we know, the line "Tyger, Tyger" is repeated often by associates of Red John. In this picture, we see Marlon wearing an orange and black shirt. Which animals have an orange and black striped coat? Thanks for reading my theory and I hope this has enlightened you. Maybe now you can all stop posting theories about the "7 suspects" and we can collect enough evidence to prove, once and for all, that Marlon Dingle is Red John!
Well, i can't say right now who Red John is. But i agree with some of the theories I have seen on this site; Episode 1-7 in season 6 will show that all the 7 suspects can be Red John, and I'm pretty sure, that we will know his identity in episode 8.
My guess on who he is.. Many. Mayby all 7, and one of them is the "leader". If I had to put all my money on one of them right now, then it would be Betram. But no one can say for sure who it is right now.
I do have a theory about Kirkland to be Red John. His interest in Red John and his break into Janes room can be a false interest to make him look innocent as being Red John. That would be a great trick, right?
I also think that too many believe in every word that Rosalind said about Red Johns look etc. If she revealed too much about him, then I'm pretty sure she would have been killed.
