LATEST THEORIES

Today, I watched the episode "His Red Right Hand" as a refresher for Red John clues, and, quite accidentally, I came across some interesting literature references for the phrase "red right hand." Hear me out. This is quite interesting. In John Milton's great poem "Paradise Lost", the phrase is mentioned in these lines:

"What if the breath that kindled those grim fires,
Awaked, should blow them into sevenfold rage,
And plunge us in the flames; or from above
Should intermitted vengeance arm again
His red right hand to plague us?"

In the Bible, the mark of the beast, is placed upon the right hand (or forehead), and so the red right hand (in Milton's poem) might mark the Antichrist and his followers. Or in this case, Red John and his disciples. As we saw the mark of the beast in "The Desert Rose" these things might be connected somehow. The "red right hand" might just be a metaphorical thing for Red John and/or his disciples, or it could be related to the next episode
"The Red Tattoo."

I don't know these things for sure, but I find the connections interesting. Strangely, there is also a song called "Song of Joy" which references John Milton's poem and states of a murderer:

"It seems he has done many, many more,
quotes John Milton on the walls in the victim's blood.
The police are investigating at tremendous cost.
In my house he wrote 'his red right hand'.
That, I'm told, is from Paradise Lost."

Anyway, I don't know if all of these connections are intentional or coincidental, but I thought it was interesting. What do you guys think? Could Heller have done this on purpose? Especially since we already know about the "Tyger, Tyger" poem and the William Blake connection.

Just to point out that Red John & Co, and the Criminal Law Enforcement Organisation seem to be two independent groups and not particularly allies of each other...to those suggesting they are one and the same.

Looking back on the scene where RJ recited the Tyger poem, doesn't it seem like he was either testing Jane's involvement with the CLEO or clueing him to their existence / password ?

Great show, great community!

Bob Kirkland's story is wrapped up nice and neat, but I wonder if they will bring back Kevin Corrigan as Michael Kirkland...but that probably won't happen..would be funny, but probably not. This also shows his interest in Volker.  Volker seemed to work in the same vain as Red John and Kirkland probably had his suspicions that he was RJ.
The Tiger Tiger thing is interesting.  Red John set up this group with the code words "Tiger Tiger"/ In this episode we have eliminated 2 suspects. I never thought Reed Smith was RJ..he is too hot headed and young, but he is a FBI agent and is a useful tool to the right person.  He probably want's Jane dead or in Jail..actually he does want Jane in jail as he was trying to pin the first murder on Jane with the motive of him actually out smarting the police and getting away. That slip of paper Reed gave to Kirkland is going to be important. I am not sure how or why, but it will be.So let's see what we have thus far:                                                      Bertram: Still unsure, but I think he is a good guy, but reports to FBI and Kirkland about  what Jane knows.                                                   Brett Partridge is dead. (I would hate it if they brought him back..I hope they don't), but he was part of the RJ cult..for sure.                                                   Bob Kirkland: Dead..my initial guess that he was a good guy doing bad things turned out to be true. After he killed Lennon I thought for sure he was RJ, but was mistaken. It still doesn't make sense why he didn't ask him for RJ's name, but I suppose he was under a time crunch to kill him before Jane was to arrive...                                                   Brett Stiles: Still a possible...but  a possible that doesn't add up..                                                   McCallister: Maybe..the first 3 episodes surrounded by the shroud of pigeons and a phobia..we know that McCallister doesn't like and maybe afraid of birds. It is possible, but he seems just too much on Jane's side.                                                   Reede: This guy is a RJ cult member, obviously as proven at the end of episode 4 with Tyger Tyger. But so is that driver, so was Lorelei, and Lennon, and countless others we have seen given their lives to this man they call Roy,,Ray, Red John..whatever..                                                   So that leaves us with one guy: Mr. Raymond Haffner:

                                                     Points for him being RJ:
                                                                               *He has connections to Visualize
*He has been watching Jane for a very long time.
*He seems to be independently wealthy
*His first kills and building a kill club was possibly at the Red Barn where he and other's tortured animals. (speculation because we don't know for sure if he was there or not, but it is a possibility..he was watching closely on that episode.)
                                                                               *And this interesting: https://twitter.com/nicknordella/statuses/391201415365812224

 So that's it..is it Haffner?..probably...for now: "Tyger,Tyger..burning bright!"

seriously, the ONLY thing that make sense and doesn't insult loyal viewers intelligence:

Jake Plotnick (aka Brett Partridge):

guy playing young Red John:

change the hair color..easy...seriously, guy looks very similar to Brett.  Partridge's death is the ONLY one that has not been explained....we have NO reason why he was killed.  yes, we may think he is part of the stupid 'tiger tyger' group...but, WHY they would off him has not been confirmed.  In fact, nothing about his death has been spoken about or examined.  The ONLLY reason Lisbon is alive is so she can attest to the fact that he is dead.  WHY would RJ put him in a closet (still alive) for Lisbon to discover....c'mon!!!!  IT WAS PLANNED!!!

I have a question about Bob Kirkland. He´s definitely death and I don´t know or it escaped myself notice.

Why Kirkland Killed Jason Lennon? I don´t understand. He could have some information....I dont know if it is because he didn´t want to Jane get some information from Jason earlier and he wanted to be the only one who reveal real identity of Red John and could kill him. But it doesnť make any sence for me.

Has any one any answer which could satisfy me?

I have to wonder if CBS has told Heller to "wrap it up".....Heller said he's doing this for the fans...this is what the fans wanted (knowing who Red John is)....I had read awhile ago Bruno Heller ideally wanted the show to run seven seasons....maybe CBS will not renew it next year. I do know when The Mentalist moved to Sundays the show began to lose ratings.

Does anyone else feel like the storyline is all over the place instead of just Patrick versus Red John? The whole Tyger Tyger organization really disappoints me, as does the list, the fake list, who is dead, who is not dead, ..... all of a sudden everyone is turning on Patrick...

I always thought Brett Partridge was Red John....now I have no clue. I was more excited about the show until Episode 4 aired on Sunday night with the Tyger Tyger exchanges - geez, what's next - Where's Waldo?
