Ok folks im going to blow this case right out of the water so read and learn.

1) Red John is not Walter Mashburn, Van Pelt, Ellis Mars or any other dumb people you keep accusing. So please stop with those crazy ass theories cause they make no sense and are a waste of time and space.
2) Brett Partridge is not RedJohn. He is dead. Plotnick and Heller both confirmed it. Give it up already.
3) Micheal Kirkland is not Red John. Jason Cooper knew who RedJohn was. Dont you think that when he saw Bob Kirkland he would have recognized him or his brother as RedJohn??
4) Tom McAllister is not Red John. Red John while visiting Ms. Harker was wearing a suit and drank tea just like Patrick. We have only seen McAllister in his uniform and nothing else. Also does McAllister look like the tea drinking type? He looks like more like a guy who would drink a cold beer at the end of the day kind of guy dont you think? As far as him being scared of pidgeons goes thats a red herring people. You would react the same exact way if a bird came swooping at your head. It doesn't mean anything. Also it appears that McAllister is part of this Tyger Tyger group.
5) Gale Bertam and Reede Smith are also part of the Tyger tyger group along with McAllister and Partridge. It would be very hard for Bertram to run the CBI, secretly run this Tyger Tyger group and still have time to be RedJohn. Same can also be said for Reede Smith. It would be very hard to do you job at the FBI, take care of the dirty work in the Tyger tyger group, have time to be Red John and not slip up and get caught. So Bertram and Reede Smith are not Red John.
6) Bret Stiles is not Red John. For one thing he is to old and doesnt match the physical description of RedJohn. Second he is the leader of Visualize and very recognizable. So Sophie Miller would have known who he was and would have also known who Gale Betram was for that matter. Stiles knows who Red John is but is to scared to reveal anything. His teachings and being in Visualize made RedJohn who he is today.
7) Raymond Haffner aka "RED JOHN".  Haffner fits the physical description of Red John. He has a knowledge of wiretaps and different kind of servalliance but he was an FBI and CBI agent.  He wears a very nice suit all the time. Just like Red John did visiting Ms. Harker. He's a very charming and good looking man. Red John is known for manipulating people into doing anything he wants. A nurse accidently goes to the wrong room lookng for a "Carmen Lee". Then Haffner comes to visit Lisbon? Coincidence? I dont think so. Haffer is a member of Visualize so who knows all of their techniques. When asked if he was at the Elliston farm is 1988 he ignores the question.  He tried to get Lisbon to join his security agency and obviously has a thing for her. Red John after kidnapping her instead of killing her paints a clown face on her. He asked Cho if he thought Patrick was smarter than him like is was a game or something. Red John and Patrick's relationship is like a game.
People it's Obvious that Haffner is RedJohn. Everything fits perfectly. Those of you will say that Haffner isnt smart enough to be RedJohn. Its called acting and not drawing any suspicion to yourself. Bertam for example in front of Patrick quotes a William Blake poem. Do you really think somebody as smart as Red John would tell Patrick the Tyger tyger poem and then turn around and quote another William Blake poem right in front of Patrick and not thing Patrick would catch it?? Raymond Haffner has never done anything to make himself look suspicious. He's to smart for that.  RAY HAFFNER IS RED JOHN.  ^_^

Ellis Mars is Red John.

1)If we watch the episode called "Red Moon"in the third season. Todd Johnson (RJ disciple) show us all the time his little act of "revenge", but changed COMPLETELY his behaviour when he saw Ellis Mars. Todd Johnson could kill him . Why he didnt shot him? Because Ellis Mars is Red John. He was his leader thats why he did insist in his innocence.

2)Besides when the police told Todd that was found hair of his girlfriend in Mars's car he reacted surprised saying ''That doesnt make sense"' . He is not angry like happened with the other guy in fact he is nervous. Todd could be saved if Ellis goes to jail. Why did he covered him? Because Ellis Mars is Red John.

3)Todd died in prison because he knew that Red John is Ellis Mars. Its  the only motive for his death. He wasnt relationated to Red John in other way.

4)At the begining Ellis Mars says the killer will attack again He know it because Todd Johnson (theassassin ) is his disciple.

5) Ellis Mars has a tiger in his business card.

6) He waited patiently many hours to see Lisbon without distraction. Just like Sophie Miller said when he was at the waiting room before therapy.

7) He has all physical characteristics that Rosalind and Sophie told us. Height, age, strong hands,soft voice, etc

8) He is well spoken, good posture, just like Sophie said.

9) He is a "'psychic"', same as Patrick. Thats why he could identificate that PJ was a fake and did write him in the letter after the murder of his wife and daughter. Also thats why Kristina was interesting for him.She is a psychic too.

10)He is similar to Patrick, both are masters of manipulation and behaviour like Lorelei said. Also that explain why RJ is full of friends.

11) Mars. God of war acording roman mitology. He is relationated with the color red.

12) He continually is giving pats on the shoulder to everybody. Just like RJ did it with Jane at the end of season 2.

13) 'He is Mar"  writed on the bathroom. In spanish would be  "El es Mar" it sounds like Ellis Mar  Remember it was in Mexico. The prostitute probably writed. (her body is nearest to the wall)

14)When he meets PJ he says "I forgive your brusqueness. I can tell that you have been visited by great tragedy."

15) Nobody believes  that Ellis Mars is Red John. In The Mentalist the
killer is always the most unexpected person .Also thats why Bruno Heller
told we will be dissapointed when we discover who RJ is it.

16) He is on the list. Not in the final seven suspects but his name is writed in Jane's notebook. Bruno Heller said "the list is real ""but he didnt say what list it is!

For me, Mentalist is a
show based on the psychological logic and on the obvious logic. 
This is what
makes it singularity especially through the character of Jane.

 



So if Red John is one
of seven suspects on the famous list, it would be too disappointing for such because
too obvious! Especially after six seasons waiting to know finally his identity.

 



I think the 7 of the
list of suspects are just accomplices of RJ as the first episodes of season
reveal.

Kirckland twin brother
is just a wrong lead, another story after the RJ’s identity revelation.

 



I also think that the
identity of RJ must be as surprising as its expectation. Don’t forget that watching
Mentalist teaches us that story line of all the investigations are built as
below: The most obvious guilty is not always the final real guilty!

 



Red John is a man so Lisbon
is innocent, at best accomplice.

 

I can’t imagine that
Jane could be himself RJ.

Jane can’t be just a twisted

Psychopath Mentalist
viewers and fans can’t accept it.

 



Cho doesn’t match RJ profile.
And we now that RJ isn’t Asian style.

 



I think RJ is Rigsby .

 


I think he had a
troubled past, he actually joined Visualize when he was young, and he had as
mentor Stiles.... He was or is still part of the secret organization Tiger
Tiger (which is mainly composed of cops).


Maybe all the Tiger
Tiger members know that Wayne Rigsby is one of them but this organization is
looking for his real RJ's identity maybe because he kills only people working
for it (bad and corrupted cops, politicians, accomplices…). Red John has a moral;
he doesn’t kill anybody without reason. He appears as a vigilante!


Maybe it’s the
organization that killed Jane’s family (wife and daughter) for x purpose… (Maybe
in order to help them to find RJ’s identity by making him working for CBI
indirectly…).

 



I think Bret Stiles
has formed RJ , he knows or suspects that it's Rigsby . That is why the
character Bret Stiles will be treated in the 7th episode (just before the big
8th episode, season 6, which will reveal to us finally the RJ’s identity).


Maybe that’s why
Stiles is so well informed about the investigations leaded by CBI (thank’s to Rigsby).

 



RJ always has an
advance Patrick Jane, may be simply because Rigsby works with Jane, always with
him. So he knows everything that's going on (evidence, evidence,
investigations, suspects...). He knows also everything through the BCI team.

 



Physically, Rigsby
matches with RJ’s description.

Wayne is young, very
strong, manly appearance, but very naive, sometimes stupid. Lovely as father
and husband, very sensitive… This behavior could be just a cover.


But don’t forget that
all people who have known personally Red John describe him as a very kindly
guy. This matches!

 

 



We know that the
characters Wayne Rigsby and Van Pelt will left the show in the middle of the
season. So just after the RJ’s identity revelation. Maybe because they will
die, or maybe because they will find that he is Rigsby (died or arrested) and
Van Pelt will die or she will left CBI after such a disappointment.

Don’t you notice that
Rigsby is always separated from the rest of the CBI team?

Observe how he looks
at Jane and especially, look at the last picture, he hasn’t any mirror
reflection (all the others have one). It’s not a mistake, it says a lot!

 



I know that no one
wants to discover Rigsby as RJ, we like so much this nice character.


But in my opinion,
Wayne Rigsby is Red John, the big big biggest surprise of Mentalist   :)
