I think Red John is Dr Montague.

Firstly, she works with FBI. This might help her to follow her friends closely.

When Patrick Jane shook her hand in the episode, the camera was very willing to show us the handshake.

The bloody writing in bathroom says: "He is Man". It can be misspelled by the victim.

Partridge and Stiles are way too obvious and Minelli is....just stupid.

Red John is Patrick Jane's father, Alex.

If you read through William Blake's poem, the tiger, you will realize that it is the same creator, the same god that created both the terrifying "Tiger" and the innocent "lamb". They stand so much in opposition to each other that it is tough to believe that they were created by the same hand. This relationship is not unlike the one that Jane had with his father...("Carnies are good people, but you're either with them or you're against them...there is no middle way" - Patrick Jane / "You're a loser, or you're someone who plays the losers" - Jane's father)

In the series' pilot, you will see that John's main accusation against Jane is that he is a "cheap imitator". Sounds like something a disgruntled father would say. (Also indicative of the fact that Jane and John are from the same line of work.) ("Alex, meanwhile, played the role of the showman, due to Jane's superior reading powers" - The Mentalist Wiki) ("Red John thinks of himself as a showman, an artist" - Patrick Jane)

Think of the scene where Jane and his dad are conning a dying girl and Jane hesitates...Jane himself was not exactly the most pleasant of men prior to the death of his family. And to be honest, his father seems ten times meaner/cruel/cunning than he could ever be. ("Thy fearful symmetry" - Red John - Evil, cunning, spiteful. God as manifested in the "Tiger" in the form of Jane's father / Jane - Sympathetic, redemptive, sensitive. God as manifested in the "Lamb" in the form of Jane)

Ultimately they are both divine, just in different ways.

I could go on.

Honestly folks, it might well be PJ himself or TL. But some time ago a thought crossed my mind that maybe Patrick's wife is somehow not that dead... and involved in the whole thing. It would be a very typical Hollywood-ending if PJ's wife was still alive and they'd either reunite at the end of the series (when Red John is killed) or we find out that she is Red John or one of his (therefore maybe PJ's) disciples...

Alrighty, its good to be back on the site! Last time I was here Scarlett and RedJohnisDr.TowlenMorning had some nice ideas and I thought we did some good work. I hope you guys are well.

Since then I've read the posts, not much new or interesting. I did like RollTide's analysis of the handshakes, nice work! Like I've stated before, PJ is not huge on handshakes. Gloria's post on the character development of GVP, was a lesson in solid detective work, well done! However, GVP isn't RJ, he's a man! I refuse to believe she's even in cahoots with RJ. I also refuse to read any more theories about RJ being PJ, PJ's bother in law and PJ's dad. Enough already! Guys like Stiles, Partridge, Mashburn, Kirkland OK I get it. People got a right to their opinions and we have still have much to learn about them. However, GVP and the Jane family tree just isn't happening folks! I thought James Thompson's  attempt to track down southpaws was really clever. However, drinking tea with ones left hand doesn't exactly make you left handed. Drinking tea isn't like hitting a baseball and when RJ kills Janet Peaks the flash back is a right handed cut. So maybe RJ is left handed maybe not but I admire the creativity of the detective work as opposed to some of the old regurgitated hogwash we get around here!

We didn't get much form this Sunday's episode. Osvaldo Ardiles (he's on the list) showed up but gave us nothing. We don't get any new episodes till next year, bummer. So here's what I've gleamed from this weeks TNT replays.

1) An episode with Gale Bertram, (Red Alert), lots of good quotes form Gale. Makes it seem likes he got real pressures from above. Combine this with his William Blake poem quote (Red Queen) and his strange phone call before PJ set him up and the same paper as the fake RJ (Strawberries & Cream) and it sure makes it look like Gale is up to something. It's almost like he is emulating his boss, as flattery, well all know people that do it. I still think the AG or higher up is evolved.

2) This "AG" theory also gained some weight in (Red Brick and Ivy). PJ has to help his former Doctor (Elisabeth Rohm) out of a possible murder rap. A few lines point to her having enough juice to get the "DOJ" (or AG) involved to make sure PJ is on the case. She also states she has got a thing for "controlling and damaged men" and that she has "demons" herself. The PJ is RJ theorists will use this episode to point to PJ's break down and split personality possibility. However, if you dig deeper and dismiss this theory, there's some good evidence that a sub plot is playing out.

3) CBI Ron: I've stated before that CBI Ron looked somewhat suspicious. Last one seen with Luther Waynright (Crimson Hat), flees the parking lot when GVP and Jane are being chased (Bloodshot), seen talking to Craig O'L (Bloodstream.) Someone even posted on here, that he was the one guarding the door when Christina Frey went missing (I haven't confirmed this.) However, in (Red Box) he is put in charge of watching the suspect from Scotland yard, the suspects punks him! Gives him a black eye and escapes! I don't see RJ getting abused like this, even if he wasn't into the assignment!

4) Dean Harken from the lab in(Code Red),he's on PJ's list of possibles. Jane is specifically put on the case. The Doctor calls him up and states "I heard you were the best detective in the state."  They do shake hands. PJ states that Harken "irks" him (PJ uses this same term to describe Brett Partridge.) Harken threatens to call his friends in the FBI to remove the team from the case. Still, there isn't to much that would make you think he is RJ. He's a bully but a lousy investigator. PJ is clearly smarter then he is and tricks him good into catching the killer.

That's all the notes I have this week. Hope we can use the time off from new episodes to find some more new good clues!! Keep watching and keep thinking (something other then its GVP) :)  !!

Let's break down the clues...

Has FBI connections= Brett Partridge
Has access to crime Scenes= Brett Partridge
Has access to the CBI Computers= Brett Partridge
Hates Jane= Brett Partridge
Has a voice similar to Red John= Brett Partridge
Is just under 6ft, with straight hair= Brett Partridge
Not sure of his age, but he must be in late 30's or early 40's...important because RJ started killing in late 90's.

William Black also refers to a partridge in his poems

He works the crime scene so if his DNA were to be found he would be overlooked as Red John

Jane considers him a fool and thus not cleaver enough to be Red John

Red John stated that he "hates it when people copy his work" and the only episodes we see Brett in are copy cat killings.

In Epi one he walked in and said "Red John Enters Here" (as he entered) and then with his hand he traced the smiley face ("by what immortal hand or eye can frame THY fearful symmetry"..."Did he smile his work to see")

The scenes with Brett have been edgy on purpose..he has been played as an arrogant, smug worm that Patrick does not like...so we would remember him for a reason.

Patrick has him listed in his book as someone he shook hands with

He appeared in season one and there was no gaurantee that this should would get picked up so it is likely that the "glimpse" of Red John came in season one...

The only thing that gets me is why HE IS MAR appeared on that wall..

When you look at it closely it dos not say He is Mar...

It says Hell IS Mar...

When you unscramble that it spells very clearly...lle (not H.E) IS Mar

When you unscramble that you get two words...

Ellis Mar
Marelli with an extra S

I defiantly say it is Brett; just think about it for a moment. He is about the only guy that appeared in this show where Patrick Jane humiliates (yes I know Jane humiliates everyone, but this guy was the only one who gets bullied by Jane who works in the police). Also, he is about the only one that everyone agreed is stupid, Jane makes fun of everyone, but Teresa, Wayne and Kimball all looked at each other in a smirking kind of way (they show us he is an idiot without saying). And in any criminal cases the killer has to have a motive and what better motive than revenge on everyone because they made fun of him (don't tell me you don't know that about Brett, because with that kind of personality everyone will make fun of you). In addition he was probably the only guy Patrick hated and showed his hater for. Also, he is just too stupid! I can't imagine a guy like him being a head of analyzing methods of killing with being this of a fool, which only suggests that he is smarter than he looks -don't forget don't judge a book by its cover. Lastly, he fits in all the clues in the list. One final word, being a fool makes anyone dismiss him from killing anyone without even looking deep into it, and remember Jane didn't even try to analyze him, he just made of him and went. And you never know :p
