i think on the list everybody somehow connected to Red John, but neither of them is him. I am starting to think about what if is Van Pelt father. He is or was a football coah or something and we saw that one of the clue was to RJ was the football statue. Van pelt was the crazy boyfriend maybe was his father behind it. Grace has red hair and her name is means mercy, and the Van Pelt is holland close to german, and red is rot in holland too. The tiger tiger...poem is a child poem, sound like somebody used to sing to someone, and in the poem there is a line which says i don't remebre exactly but somewhere i heard that somebody made the beast and the nice one..so that might be related, so he is talking about his children.
And i think Jane and Van Pelt are related and might be their father is the killer. Jane hasn't know about his father since he ran away from the circus, that might be possible that his father started fresh and settled down with a new family as a coach.

Just a brief thought regarding all these Partridge theories...

I liked my namesake as RJ but then he got KILLED.
One of the oldest writers' tricks is to 'kill' a character off early only to have them arise later as the true killer. Heller will be VERY aware of this device and will surely want something different for his outcome. He's invested a LOT of time into this - for it to end with such a massive writing cliche? I just can't see it.

He will have gone through every possibility asking himself - where is the best story? The best angle? How can I be original? What hasn't been done?

No doubt it would have gone through his mind to make Partridge RJ but then why go down the old cliche route of a fake death in 6.01. No.

I think his challenge will be - how can I make the best possible TV out of this. I'll play it straight with the list and the twist will come in revealing HOW RJ is one of these 7 (now 5). That's when the fireworks will happen. Not all in the reveal but the in back story. I'm guessing episode 7 will reveal RJ and we'll get the clever writing and back story flashbacks knitting it all together straight after. We'll learn all about how this man came to be in the episode entitled simply... "Red John"

"And lest you question that reveal as perhaps a piece of misdirection, executive producer Eoghan Mahony,
who wrote the episode “The Red Tattoo,” assures TVLine, “That is a
legit clue, and it is a big deal. Now Jane’s got his leverage.”"

The point that Partridge isn't dead seems silly but when you think about it then it actually makes some sense. Go back to the first episode of this season and watch the last minute. You see Lisbon look up and then all of a sudden she is taken down from behind. The only person in that room is Partridge and sure enough she never checks him for a pulse. He could easily have been alive and surprised her. Not sure how he faked the rest of the police and everything but if he could then this theory makes the most sense. Also it will be intriguing because Patrick has all the suspects in the room except for Partridge so  he would be the most surprising person at this point..
