People. Red John paints the smiley face to be seen prior to the sight of the dead body. He painted Lisbon's face with a smiley face. Prior to the sight of Lisbon's dead body.
(Yeah, not her.)
Had to wait longer to watch the episode do to the rerun issue. I have never agreed to the list, and after figuring out the 3 members of TT (which we all pretty much knew), its obvious Red John isnt on the list. Like honestly, leaving 2 of the most obvious suspects to be Red John, and 1 of them being him? That's just not right.
I believe that the 3 people were shot, and that next episode will include the death of the 3 TT members, and the death of Stiles (due to his illness). That'll leave only Haffner left on the list, which would be a disappointment if he turned out to be RJ. I tryed so hard to believe in the list, but after this episode, it's obvious the list wasn't true for Rj. When Heller said to trust the list, he probably meant for the TT organization, not for RJ. I believe now also that Lisbon has something to do with RJ, but will backstab him for PJ.
Some things that still confuse me:
~ Word is RJ is figured out Ep.8. What will the rest of the season be about? It would be boring to watch many episodes of trying to find RJ, even though they know who he is (by that time).
~ How Haffner isn't marked with the TT "logo" you can say. Does this mean TT is fairly new? Maybe a year or 2?
~ Jane going back to his house and seeing the RJ face. I don't think blood can stay that long on a wall, I believe PJ just redrew it to show what has happened.
~ Why JJ LaRoche hasn't been really apart of this season. Heck, even Hightower has had a bigger part then him. I believe an episode with the return of Virgil is in the works??
After seeing the last episode, it's interesting to mention the kind of personality that has red john, i mean he is the most powerful man into the tigger tigger organization and therefore a confident one: into the logic of the three dots, i agree with those who said that that is only for the members and not for the lider, and most important of all the idea of knowing that he wouldn't be in danger if he comes, and the only person who doesn't arrive with a gun was Bret Stiles. Nevertheless, I believe that Red John (Bret Stiles) is seeking for a successor and that's why all of the crimes have been committed for random members (and because of the illness of Stiles too), and the successor is the one who spoke with patrick's doctor.
But if it's not.. hopefully it will be something good in terms of the conections and clues across the story.
P.S: It would be fun if someone from the CBI like Van Pelt or Rigsby is Red John or of the bad ones.

Anyone still think the movie Red Dragon wasn't a significant influence on this
show? Shotgun fired off-screen so you don't see who actually got shot,
immediately followed by the house on fire? Add that to the blind girlfriend,
William Blake references, that shot of Haffner working out obsessively in
6x1...
I'm not as sure it was Partridge as I was after 6x1 and 6x2, but Heller
mentioned there was a specific reason Partridge needed to die when he did, and
there has been absolutely no mention of that (not even a single reference) so
far. The fact that Heller mentioned this, and no one else on the list of 7 has
been killed by Red John himself, makes me think there is something special
about Partridge.
I still don't think it's one of the remaining 5. Why would Bertram need to call
one of the other 4 if they are all getting invited to this thing? Now, if he
called Partridge, or the other Kirkland,
or someone else who wouldn't have gotten the Jane invite, that would make more
sense.
Jane is either being led astray with this shoulder tattoo thing, in which case
the real RJ will surprise him (and us). This doesn't seem very characteristic
for Jane, though.
More likely, as others have proposed, Jane already knows who RJ is and this is
all a long con to flush him out. Thus, singling out the 3 with the tattoo would
be classic Jane misdirection. There’s no way Jane would just shoot one of them.
And when Lisbon got to the house it
was all quiet, no more screaming. I don't even think anyone was still in there.
It would be incredibly disappointing if it were one of the 3. The plodding,
mechanical way the whole thing unfolded (first 7, then 5, now 3) almost seems
like an insult to the audience who have followed this for so long. Think about
it...everything that has helped Jane "narrow" the list so far has
been random information that fell into his lap e.g. Lorelei's slip up, the
whistling/phobia, the shoulder tattoo. Jane HAS
to have a better (read: more creative and respectable) plan.
I just spoke to the emergency call line for CBS in NYC, which is 212 975 2900 and they said that everybody would be getting the rerun instead of the new episode. And reading from here that is obviously not true. CBS executives should be ashamed of themselves! I waited an extra hour to watch this show and what the heck do I get? A two year old episode, while others are watching the new episode. I am so mad! I hope red John goes and kills all of these incompetent CBS executives! Enough said!!!
