CBS just announced they'll be showing Fire and Brimstone this coming sunday since a lot of people got the Rigsby fathers episode instead.
The Great Red Dragon will air November 17th.
Looks like we have to wait even longer for the red john reveal.

In a Orkut community, post date 05/11/2011, I wrote that I wouldn't still bet on Dr. Linus Wagner ( eps 1x01 "Pilot " and 3x08 " Ball of Fire ). Justifications:
1 - He has appeared twice in the series, like says B. Heller;
2 - It's stuck, so far from suspicion, but he could still communicate and to transmit orders due to their privileges as detainee;
3 - His fanatical followers would mostly former patients or members of stray Visualize Self-Realization Center, i. e., potentially anyone. Examples: O'Laughlin, Rebecca, Brett (forensic expert), Minelli, Bertram, Mashburn and all other usual suspects.
4 - Maybe some past disagreement between Dr. Wagner and Brett Stiles has generated a split in the sect, and the fanaticism of certain members weighed in choosing whom to follow. Brett Stiles (same name as the expert, just coincidence?) left in the air that he knew "a lot more than Patrick and Red John ", then it is possible that he is the one who chose to remain on the pacific side of the activity and RJ, by otherside, would be distorted, eager to shape the world through their will, using useful idiots to form social connections and act violently.
5 - Scenarios inspired by a mix of Psi, Masonry x Scientology, Legal and Police Bureaucracy;
Anyway, it is clear that Bruno Heller, to create a series that addresses issues with hypnosis, PNL, religion, "mind powers", persuasion, influence, etc. are trying to show all possible points of view of the subject, from academic to the pseudo-religious fanaticism. As some have said , the villain of the story is just a backdrop for everything that can be explored and known, making even those who do not like the subject remains watching the series due to its mysteries and curiosities.
Brett Styles is indeed Pj father. He is also Red Johns father . The big twist is that van pelt is res john. A girl who always hated her brother. She found him to be "godless" s1ep1. Her father styles always treated her as a boy and it shows . She cant love anyone . You saw it in her face when rigsby said i love u. Watch the pilot episode and you will see how weird van pelt is and how much she hates jane. Another twist is that jane knows all of this .
I think it's Ray. The guys with three dots are not red john probably but members of his organisation. Brett Styles is the strongest guy of them and I don't think that he is red john as he seems too obivious. But Ray is a character that we tend to forget between all the events. I
f I was a scenarist I would choose him to be the red john as it will be more surprising as Brett gets shocked.
red john is Bret stiles!!
He is the most powerful person who has money and political power in this show who is also capable of manipulating people from early episodes. Gale, Reede and Thomas are Red john's buddies. you could imagine it just like three musketeers and d'artagnan.
three dot tattoos are not just coincident that means bloody promises between Red john's members. and Red John has to be very cautious man because he never risked himself to expose to Jane. Red John doesn't have to do his job because he has followers do it for him.
In truth, I don't think any of them is RJ.
It is a known fact that RJ has a really soft/high voice, and none of these suspects do. Of course, RJ might have been using a voice changer. But wasn't Jane kidnapped by RJ once and therefore should know his real voice?
It is obvious that RJ has a organization, a powerful one, shown in the scenes where Reede Smith and Bertram all report to someone else. So I don't think RJ would go kill that PI girl himself. He could just have one of his many many followers do it. Therefore, the assumption that RJ has the tattoo is invalid. It could be that everyone in his "army" has the tattoo and he actually DOESN'T have it.
How could RJ know the suspects before Jane? My guess is he made a bet. But it would be smart not to put he himself in the suspect list. He could just be the mastermind behind the scenes, pulling the strings, having his followers do the dirty work, so it's quite plausible that he is not even on the suspect list.
As for Hafner and Stiles NOT having the tattoo, there's two possibilities1. They are innocent and have no connection whatsoever to RJ2. RJ's organization "teamed up" with visualize, so any visualize members are a part of RJ's group. Even though this is unlikely, I just don't get why in E06, there was the LONG scene regarding Visualize. And they've always been kinda shady in my opinion.
Well...
Red John got some "very powerful" friends.
I think it now makes sense, the way I see it.
It's an organization & their password is "tiger tiger" and probably everyone in it has the "3 dots tattoo"
that's my only explanation to last episode when 3 of the suspects had the tattoo.
but there's noway red john can be an organization or multiple people.
its an organization led by Red John.
or at least he's a very important member in it.
and I read somewhere that the writers confirmed that Red John is actually one of the 7 suspects.
and I have this strong feeling that Red John is Brett Partridge.
the only logical proof that he might have faked his death.
you know... since he's got powerful friends and stuff.
I mean do we even know for sure that he's dead? or where is his body.
I think he was acting when he fell off that thing, and wth... his only words were only (tiger tiger)..
until we know for sure he's dead.
I think he really is Red John.
